Epilogue: Green Destiny Pt.2
The Ninja chose to stay over at the Royal Palace as they planned to clean this place before helping around the city. When Harumi blew up the palace, she didn't destroy everything. She showed each of the Ninja to separate rooms that were still intact and left to go to her own room. Since her actual room was destroyed, she chose to go to her spare bedroom.
She settled herself in by removing her red slash face paint and by changing out of her Quiet One outfit. She didn't really have anything to change into though, so she stayed in her SoG uniform. Sighing, she was about to retire for the night when she heard a knock on her door.
She opened the door and was met with Lloyd's smiling face, "Lloyd? What are you doing here?" She asked and smiled back and let him inside her room. She closed the door again and sat beside him on her bed.
"Just wanted to check up on you..." He bit his lip and turned to her, "So, how are you doing with this whole situation?" He asked.
She sighed and let herself fall back on her bed, "Guilty." Lloyd looked shocked and turned to look at her, "I feel like I should be in Kryptarium with the rest of the Sons of Garmadon. I was the founder of that gang and their leader so I feel like-"
"Don't." He started, a stern look on his face, "You may be the founder of the Sons of Garmadon but that doesn't mean you deserve to be locked up. You changed willingly. I didn't force you to change and you did help me defeat my father." He smiled.
She still looked guilty and started protesting, "But I was the reason he's here now. If I hadn't had resurrected him, then everything would be fine."
"Yes, you resurrected him and you can't change the past but you can improve for the future. And you did. You helped me stop Garmadon and if it weren't for you, I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't have succeeded." He looked away shyly before saying, "I just wanted to say thank you."
Harumi felt herself heating up and she stuttered, "W-Well, I- Uh... You're welcome. And I also need to thank you." She admitted.
He looked at her, confused, "For what?"
"For believing in me even after I betrayed you. You trusted me enough to help you even though you could've just left me, so I thank you." She got up from the bed and gave a slight princessy bow. Even after all this time, she's still a princess.
He smiled and bowed back, "No problem, Princess."
She got up and chuckled, "You can stop calling me 'Princess', I'm not a princess. Just call me 'Rumi'."
He had an amused smile, "I still think you're a princess." He blushed.
Her blush deepened, "Thanks." Silence washed over them before Harumi spoke up, "It's getting late. We should go to sleep."
He started walking towards the door, "Y-Yeah! Well, um... Goodnight, Rumi." He bumped into the door before chuckling and leaving.
The door was still opened so she looked out at Lloyd and replied, "Goodnight, Lloyd." She smiled and closed the door and headed to bed.
The next morning, all of the Ninja changed out of their hunted robes and back into their resistance robes which were the outfits Harumi first saw them in before Garmadon took over the city. Turns out, Lloyd kept Harumi's casual outfit in safekeeping and returned it to her in the morning for her to use instead of her Quiet One outfit.
She thanked him and before everyone went to work to help rebuild the city, the Ninja and Harumi had breakfast in the palace. It was mainly so that Harumi could apologize and ask for their forgiveness. All the Ninja forgave her as long as she doesn't go behind their backs again.
Nya, of course, forgave her as she did say that they could start over after this whole thing was done. She even offered Harumi a spot on the team to which Harumi turned down. Though the rest of the Ninja insisted that she joined so that she could make up for the trouble she cause to Ninjago City, so she agreed if someone would help train her.
Lloyd offered to train her spinjitzu since she already knew how to fight from her training as the Quiet One. But he still gave her some lessons just to be safe so that Harumi could protect herself in missions. She also told the Ninja that she wanted to stop criminals around Ninjago if they were busy with something else, and surprisingly, they were okay with it.
After breakfast, they were all doing different things to clean up the palace. Jay then remembered Kai's question yesterday when he wondered what tomorrow, which is now today, will bring. Jay mentioned it and scoffed.
"And for your question from yesterday." He started, "It holds a lot of work, Kai." Jay answered.
"We saved Ninjago. Can't we get a day off?" Cole asked as he swept the floor.
Lloyd carried a trash bag, looking at Cole, "We helped break it, we help rebuild it."
"I'm sorry... Again." Harumi apologized.
The Ninja smiled at her and were about to shrug off the apology when Master Wu came running in, "Ninja! Trouble!" He was an old man again, "Come quick!"
"Already?" Kai slumped, holding the mop.
Jay rubbed his head, "I'm still sore from our last adventure."
Wu led them outside and the Ninja followed, ditching their cleaning equipment and flipping their hoods on. Harumi followed and she flipped her jacket hood on. They all got ready to fight when they saw the citizens of Ninjago City cheering for them.
All of them, with the exception of Harumi, flipped their hood off and smiled. The Fold group band were playing the song 'The Weekend Whip'. The commissioner came up to them and said, "We already thanked you, but the people want to thank you also."
In the crowd, they saw PIXAL, Dareth, and Skylor. Nya waved them over to come and they did. Nya hugged Jay and he returned it. Zane hugged PIXAL from behind and she smirked. Skylor and Kai were waving when they bumped into each other and they shared an embrace. Cole was whistling and it turned into a smile when he saw a girl holding a tray full of cake.
Lloyd slowly walked behind Harumi and flipped her hood off. She gasped and looked at Lloyd who had a teasing look on his face. She smiled at him and tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear. Her hair was in a bun that was held with chopsticks. Lloyd carefully linked his hand with hers and she noticed. She grabbed his other hand and they both looked at each other with a love-struck look on their faces. This time, Harumi returned his feelings.
They let go of each other and waved at the citizens. Harumi only gave a small shy wave. Lloyd noticed Harumi's uncomfortable state and gave her hand a reassuring squeeze which she gave a grateful smile at.
Kai then elbowed Harumi lightly to get her attention, "Hey, Harumi. Why don't you give a speech to these people? To show 'em that you want to change?" He suggested.
Harumi took a nervous deep breath and Lloyd nodded at that idea, "Excuse me. Hello, everyone!" He got everyone's attention, "Harumi, the former Princess of Ninjago, would like to say a few words."
They all shifted their attention to the white-haired girl and the music dimmed, leaving only the instrumental to keep going. She shifted her legs awkwardly and looked at Lloyd who smiled at her, giving her reassurance. She smiled back and looked at the citizens, took a deep breath, and started.
"Umm... Hello, Ninjago. I just wanted to say a few words. I know that I was doing something really bad when I sought to get revenge on the Ninja. I took over this city after I resurrected the evil Lord Garmadon and I hurt a lot of people. I wanted to say that I am really sorry for what I've done. I know you won't forgive me right away, but I hope in time, I can gain your forgiveness and trust again. Thank you."
Much to Harumi's shock, the citizens cheered and clapped at her short apology speech. She smiled at them and nodded while waving.
Lloyd then noticed that Master Wu was gone and left to find him. Harumi followed, not really wanting to be in front of a crowd. The celebration lasted the whole day and Lloyd and Harumi climbed up to the top of the Royal Palace.
They found Master Wu tending to the Firstbourne. Lloyd and Harumi walked up to him, "She has to leave?"
"This isn't their realm." Wu shook his head, "She'll come back when it's time. Right now, they need to return home. Thank you, my friend." He hugged her. The Firstbourne blinked slowly as her nod.
Lloyd walked to the dragon and petted her. Harumi placed a hand on his arm and smiled. Lloyd's smile vanished as he walked towards the edge of the roof, "The First Spinjitzu Master tried to make the perfect realm," He frowned.
"But because of the evil lord I resurrected, there may never be lasting peace." Harumi bit her lip.
Harumi followed behind Lloyd and Wu said, "Our world isn't perfect. That doesn't mean we give up on it."
They watched the fireworks explode in the sky, making the three of them smile. Harumi rested her head on Lloyd's shoulder and he responded by leaning his head down on top of hers. They both frowned and shared a look as if they could talk to each other without talking, and both of them nodded at each other.
"Tell me, Master, back in the First Realm, did you see the Oni?" Lloyd asked.
"They were all gone when we arrived. To where, I do not know." Wu shook his head, "What concerns you, Master Lloyd?" He asked.
Harumi gasped, letting go of Lloyd, and he walked further on the beam, "If my father is right, I think they're coming."
The fireworks stopped and only the night sky remained. The moonlight shone on them as they got ready for another fight.
