Chapter 21
(Chris's P.O.V.)
My eyes frantically scanned the surrounding forest trying to locate the now missing scarecrow. All of a sudden a hook like arm swung out and tried to attack Dean and Sam. Emily was free along with Dean and Sam, but I struggled to get out of my bindings. Emily and Sam scrambled away with Dean in their heels. Groaning I sucked in a sharp breath as the ropes cut and burned my skin. The scarecrow thing stopped moving and slowly turned to stare at me.
It took everything I had not to let out a shriek of terror. It's empty black eyes bore into mine and I whimpered. Ever so slowly it reached out and slid its strange fingers against my cheek. it swiftly ripped the ropes away from me and latched onto my arm. I heard Dean shout, but I felt to paralyzed to do anything. A flash blurred by and it felt like my arm was being ripped off. Dean was on top of the scarecrow and bashed his fist into its face. He let out a yell as the scarecrow threw him off and into a tree. Rushing over I grabbed Deans arm and yanked him up. Together we ran into the safety of the thick trees. I panted and tried to mask my breathing. The crunching of leaves made my skin crawl. An eerie wind blew across the forest, Dean glanced over at me. His eyes widened and he shoved me down.
Jerking my head I saw a curved blade knifed in the tree just above Dean's head. I choked back a scream and suddenly only one thought ran through my head. I wish Jen was here! Dean and I scrambled out of our spot on the ground and dashed towards the edge of the forest.

I shivered, a cold wind beginning to set in my bones and cover me in a blanket. I gripped my phone, my knuckles turned white and I breathed hot air into the now frozen car. A couple days ago Chris had called to say that they had managed to finish the job. I was proud that she was able to handle it without me, but at the same time I was hurt and felt broken. I set my phone down and rubbed my arms, the friction bringing little heat to me. Early this morning the man on the radio had announced an enormous blizzard front coming from the North. If only I had listened, I chuckled ruefully. I had been on the road for hours and was going through a mountain pass when an avalanche hit the car.
Grabbing the lever on my seat I set it down in a laying position and reached into the back off the car. My blankets were neatly folded in a bag that rested under the passenger side seat. I reached for the bag and winced. Upon impact my leg had somehow gotten jammed in the car and now was resting in a terribly uncomfortable position. My fingers scrapped upon the edges of the bag and I laughed in triumph as my hand wrapped around the strap of the bag. Yanking on it with all my might I jerked the bag onto my lap. Shaking hands and cold limbs were nothing, it was the hunger that bothered me. My eyes brightened when they landed on a bag of Cheetos. Carefully I yanked out blanket after blanket and covered myself. It was dark by now and would be colder outside of the car rather than inside. Soon I was asleep with the sound of the wind keeping me company.
(Sam's P.O.V.)
I watched as Chris paced the room for the millionth time. She and Jen had made up and Jen had even mentioned coming back to help us and stay for good. She just wanted to clear things up with mister high and mighty first.
"I don't know Chris, I'm pretty sure she's fine." Chris shook her head in disbelief.
"This isn't like her. She would have called by now, what if somethings happened to her?" Dean leaned against the doorway and smiled.
"I though Jen was the worry wart and you were just the hard headed 'lets go get them' type of person." Chris rolled her eyes and slapped her hand on the table.
"Nice going Dean, you gave her an idea." I muttered sarcastically.
"No, he's right, I have to do something." She scratched her head for a moment. Then in a flash she was hooking her phone up to her laptop and her fingers flew across the key like lighting. It was really impressive. "Yes!" Standing up I glanced at her screen. It was a map of the Maine area. There, a small town was beeping with a small red ring around it. "This is the last known place that her phone was at. My guess is that she is either there or, not to far away." My eyes studied the map carefully.
"Hey, we're actually really close." I pointed to a place only forty miles away. "See, this is us, and this is where she was, or is." As Dean and Chris set out to gather up some food and drinks I started to pack things up. Now that they were gone I rested in a chair. Why? Maybe she would still be here if I hadn't planned on going after our father. I rubbed my eyes, sighing I leaned back. Why did I feel this way? It was as if someone had slapped me in the face and then shot me in the stomach with rock salt. I jumped at the sound of the door banging open. Chris and Dean walked in with large grocery bags and a couple heated blankets.
"The weather man mentioned that there was a huge storm yesterday and that another wave would be coming in later tonight." I nodded and we were all soon piling into the car. The roads were messy and not much could be seen. Hours drifted by and eventually Chris was snoring in the back seat. Dean chuckled and pulled one of the heated blankets over her. I raised and eyebrow at him and he huffed in annoyance.
"What? She looks cold." He argued. I nodded and raised my hands in defense.
"That's fine," I flipped through Dean's unimpressive mix of music, which was nothing much, and chuckled.
"Anyway, what do you think happened to Jen?" I stopped and leaned back.
"Who knows, for all we know she could be dead, trapped, injured, living like a queen, married." I spat the last word out with distaste and was surprised at myself. Dean nodded and we carried on. A small flashing light ahead of us caught my attention. "Dean, slow down, somethings happened." Rolling to a stop we saw a small squad of police men near a cliff edge all with worried and worn faces. "What happened?" I asked over the howling wind. An officer tipped his hat at us and leaned close so that he was heard.
"Huge avalanche, someone says that they saw a car get swept off the edge of the road." Dean frowned.
"Then the person may be injured or dead."
"How long ago was it?" I asked.
"Happened last night, but everything has been so bad that we just now are getting people here to help with the damages." I stepped out of the car and peered over the edge. Suddenly there was a screeching noise. Looking up I saw a shiny black Mercedes pull up. A tall man with longish blonde hair stepped out. He wore typical rich man winter clothes and a look of horror crossed his face.
"Get someone down there now!" He yelled at the officers.
"Hey, sir you should really calm down, they are doing their best." I reassured the man.
"That is my fiancée trapped down there! Someone gave me her cars description and it matched to the time when her phones signal was lost." I could tell that he was worried and I gave him a small smile.
"Don't worry, we'll get her out." A sudden commotion arose from the edge of the cliffs face. A rumbling sounded all around us and the snow down below started to shift. Then man ran to the edge and I had to grab him before he slid off the side. Suddenly a man dressed all in black walked up and grabbed the man's arm.
"Mr. Peirce, I am going to have to ask you to back away from the edge." The man nodded and sat down against his car.
"My name is John Johnson, what's yours?" The man gave me a faint smile.
"Lionel Peirce." Something about his name seemed to ring a bell, but nothing really clicked at the moment.
"Could you tell me what kind of car it was?" I asked. Maybe if I knew the kind of car then it would be easier to get to.
"She drives a dark red Buick Skylark GSX." I felt myself go cold and not because of the winters touch.
"Is her name by any chance Jen Remington?" Lionel looked up, surprise written all over his face.
"I know her by Jenneth, but yes, that is her. How did you know?"
"We, are close friends, my brother and I, we were actually the ones who gave her the car." Lionel looked as surprised as I felt and another commotion arose. I dashed over to the edge, by now Dean had come to join me by the edges side. A red car door poked through the snow and I gasped. "Someone has to go down there and help her." I said exasperated. Snatching up a rope I tied it to the broken railing and began to lower myself down.
"Sam, are you nuts?!" Dean demanded. I nodded and kept lowering myself. My feet slowly planted themselves on the car and I reached for the handle. It was frozen shut and I growled. Frustrated I slammed my foot against the handle, loosening the ice. Wrapping my hands on the handle I yanked with all my strength. The door broke free with a shuddering movement and I paused. Inside I could see Jen. Her skin was slightly tinted blue and it looked as though she wasn't breathing. Fear coursed through me as I grabbed her. Placing her on my back I did my best to climb. Seeing as how this wasn't working I put her in front and carried her that way. By the time I reached the top medics were already waiting for her.
(Chris's P.O.V.)
I woke up to the sound of sirens, and an empty car. When I stepped out of the car I noted two things. The first was a dark red Buick, the second was a very rich and sad looking man talking to the Winchesters.
"Ah you must be Christina." The man said running over to shake my hand.
"It's Chris, unless your my boyfriend, then it's Chrissy." The man laughed and nodded.
"Right, well, I really am sorry that we had to meet due to such unfortunate events but I am sure that everything is alright." I shook my head.
"What are you talking about? What is going on?"
