Chapter 16
(Jen's P.O.V.)
I stood there stunned by what Dean said. Something? Could he mean like a spirit?
"Well we can't just stand here and wait for something bad to happen, what if he gets killed!" I shout. Turing I start to run down the hall.
"JEN! Wait!" I turn back. Chris and Dean are trying to catch up to me. "The basement is that way!" Huh? I look over and see that I was going down the wrong hall. Oops. Laughing nervously I charge down the right hallway. Doors blur past and the sound of our feet thudding is the only thing I hear. The door to the basement starts to come into view and we hurriedly go down. It's dark and there is a chill that seems to hang. I breath a sigh of relief that there seems to be some light down here. Although my heart drops when I realize that Sam is no where to be seen.
"Where could he be?" I wonder aloud. As we spread out to find Sam I see a shadow move.
"Sammy, Sam you down here?" Dean called looking around a corner. I was preoccupied with looking into a dank looking boiler like room when I heard Dean gasp. I hurried to see him and Sam standing face to face. Dean's flashlight was trained on Sam. "Answer me when I'm calling you." Dean growled. "You all right?"
"Yea, I'm fine." Sam breathed.
"You know that it wasn't Dean who called your cell, right?" I asked stepping up to the two of them.
"Yea I know. I think that something lured me down here."
"And guess who, Dr.Ellicott, that's what the spirits have been trying to tell us." Sam's mouth gaped for a moment, but Dean continued on. "I found his log book, apparently he had been experiment on his patients.....with.....awful stuff."
"But it was the patients that rioted." Chris remarked with a befuddled expression. I put my hand on my hips and looked at Dean.
"Yea, against Dr.Ellicott, Doctor Feel Good was working on some extreme rage therapy, he thought that if he could get his patients to vent their anger then they'd be cured of it." Dean shook his head. "That only made them worse and worse, angrier and angrier. So I'm thinking, what if his spirit is doing the same thing, to the cop, to the kids in the seventies. Making them so angry, they become homicidal." Dean paused.
"Well, then what are we waiting for, we have to find his bones and burn them." Dean started to move around Sam.
"How?" Sam asked spreading his arms out in exasperation. "The cops never found his body."
"Well, what if he had some hidden procedure room around here where he worked on his patients and that's where is body is now?" I asked. The whole thing would seem to make sense. Dean clicked his tongue.
"That's what I was thinking." I ran my hand along the wall next to me, when I pulled away I saw a layer of slime like substance on my fingers.
"Hey if I was a patient I'd drag his ass down here and do a little work on him to." Chris stated moving to get ahead of us all. Dean walked with her and she grabbed a handle to a metal door. With a nod she pulled it open while Dean aimed the flashlight inside. Signaling me I followed after them.
"I told you, I looked everywhere. I didn't find a hidden room."
"Yea well, that's why they call it hidden." Dean replied his flashlight searching the floors. I knelt down and ran my hand along the base of the walls, trying to find and hold in anything. "You hear that?" Dean asked. He moved down and looked at a piece of wood. "There's a door here."
"Dean." Sam said. We all turned to look at Sam. His nose was bleeding.
"Sam! Are you okay?" I asked worriedly. He wiped at the blood and sniffed.
"Sam, put the gun down." Dean ordered calmly.
"Is that an order?" Sam asked snidely.
"That's more like a friendly request."
"Good, because I am through with taking orders from you." Sam raised his gun at Dean. I noticed Chris tense from across the room and my hand immediately rested on my rifle. This. unlike my pistol, only had rock salt. Apparently, so did Sam's.
"What are you going to do, huh? That gun has rock salt, can't kill me."
BANG! I jumped as Sam's gun fired. Dean was blasted through the door.
"I knew it, Dr.Ellicott did something to you." Chris growled through gritted teeth. Running behind Sam I tried to jump onto his back and bring him down. Instead he swung his arm, catching me in the throat and sending me flying against the wall. "JEN!" Chris screamed. She raised her gun and shot Sam in the knee. He growled and fired back at her, the rock salt smashing into her shoulder.
"Sam, you don't want to do this!" I hollered. Sam laughed and turned back to his brother.
"It may not kill you, but it'll hurt like hell." From where I was I could see that Dean blacked out. Groaning I clamored back onto my feet and moved towards Sam.
"We just need to burn the bastards bones. This can all be over."
"Hah, I am sick of you and your annoying sister always trying tell me what to do. You think that you can waltz into my life and make this your little world where everything you say goes."
"T-That's not it Sam."
"Really?" He asked. Out of the corner of my eye I noticed Chris stealthily moving to grab some light fluid. I lunged at Sam my fist connecting with his jaw. I heard him groan before he threw me down and pinned me. There was a fiery rage burning in his eyes and I giggled. It started as a bubble but only got stronger. He gave me a quizzical look before growling. I watched as he slapped me across the face. A hiss of anger came form behind as the thunderous sound of a gun rang out. Sam cried out in pain and lurched to the side. Chris had shot him and was closing in fast. In one quick movement I brought the hilt of my gun down on Sam's head and knocked him out. As Chris roused Dean I started to look around.
Dean groaned as he stood up. We all moved onto another part of the hidden room and started to look around. The sound of curtains being moved by Dean freaked me out at first but I slowly got used to it. There were shelves that rested against one side and cobwebs covered a good portion of the jars there. The squeak of an opening door caused me to jump.
"Aww that's just gross." Dean cried, his face screwing up in a look of disgust. Walking over I saw the body of who I assume is Dr.Ellicott.
"Well, let's get burning." I said fishing for my lighter. Dean reached into his bag and started to pour slat all over the body. As I peered around the room my flashlight started to fritz. "Huh?" I wondered. All of a sudden the squeaky heels of a cart filled the little room and a nursing bed slammed into Dean, causing him to fall onto Chris. Suddenly Dr.Ellicott's spirit attacked Dean. Chris could do nothing because she was trapped underneath him. I stuggled to get to the body without being seen. All of a sudden Dr.Ellicott turned and grabbed my ankle. I cried out as he dragged me across the floor and to another part of the room. "Damn it!" I screamed. "Let me go!" I tried to kick out at him but he dodged me effortlessly.
"Don't worry I'm here to help you, I can make you better." I shrieked as he placed his hands on my temples. A sharp pain shot through and burned it's way into my mind. Screaming seemed to be the only way to release the pain. His cold hands were soon ripped away and I gasped. Turning over I retched onto the floor next to me.
"So long bastard." I heard Dean say. Dr.Ellricott's body started to fade into dust and explode in a mess of clay like stuff. Sam abruptly stood up and gave us all a befuddled expression. "Your not going to try and kill me again, are you?" Dean panted.
"No." Sam replied.
"Good, cause that would be awkward."
. . .
"No more haunted houses, all right."
"Yea, and thanks, for helping us." Kat replied. Chris laughed and walked over to Gavin.
"You two are sooo over." Gavin hung his head depression apparent. They walked away.
"Hey Dean, I'm sorry man. I said some awful things back there."
"You remember all that?" Dean asked.
"Yea, it was like I couldn't control what I was saying." I watched as the brothers continued their talk.
"God, am I glad to be out of that freaky place." I muttered shivering and rubbing my arms. I climbed into our car and we drove back to our motel.
. . .
RING RING RING. I groaned and looked around surprised. Where the fuck was I? I found myself sitting in a chair and on the beds next to me were Sam and in the other Dean. Chris was passed out on a couch on the other side of the room. What the bloody hell happened here. RING RING RING!
"Dean." Sam murmured. Nothing. Rolling over, I saw Sam pick up the phone. "Hello." Sam sat up, shock and surprise written all over his face. "Dad?"
