Chapter 14

Three Weeks Later

(Jenny's P.O.V.)

My head was hurting and I couldn't help but groan. Chris was driving and I tried to recall all of the events from the night before. Glancing in the mirror I saw a bandaged wrapped around my arm and sighed. Chris glanced over and smiled.

"Your arm still getting to you?" I shook my head.

"No, it's just blooming sore." Little bits of last night started to trickle in and I started to brood. We had split from Sam and Dean after the little bug incident in Oklahoma and we hadn't seen them since. While drinking some guys came up to us and were 'trying' to flirt with us.....and after that? Nothing seemed to come back yet so I decided o give up. We had just rolled into Rockford, Illinois. The city was huge and brilliantly lit up. Evening wasn't to far off and, even though I had slept for three hours, I was starting to feel tiered again. We pulled into the parking lot of a motel and I was starting to get a headache. "I'll get us a hotel room, why don't you go through and find somewhere for us to eat." Chris nodded and pulled out. I headed for the front desk and tapped the little bell that sat on the counter. A man with wavy brown hair and light blue eyes walked forward. I smirked and adjusted my hair.

"Hey there." The guy looked up and seemed startled for a moment. His face was slightly red and I silently laughed in my mind. "I'm not from here, and I was wondering if there would be any good rooms here that I could stay at." I batted my lashes at him.

"Uh......y-yea, um there ar-are some really g-great rooms here. I'm sure that you would find any of these rooms are really....nice." I gave him a girly giggle and twirled a strand of my hair.

"How much does it cost to stay for a night?"

"Oh, uh, it costs about fifty dollars a night." I gaped at him in fake shock.

"My, that's awfully expensive, and this is just for one night. Why, I'll be flat broke in four days."

"Well, why don't I cut that in half, you know, like, a discount."

"In half?" He nodded. "So that would be............" I pretended to count the money in my head like some idiot.

"For four nights, it will only cost a hundred dollars." I gave him another girly giggle.

"Why that's so knightly of you." I reached across the counter and stroked his arm. Truth be told, he was actually a very handsome looking guy. Tall, muscled, but not to muscly, and he had a deep soothing voice. I was almost sure that he was a major player though. "Could I have room eight, then." It was the last room in the first row of motels and I would rather have an end room than a middle room. He nodded and turned to grab the key. While his back was turned I reapplied my lipstick and stuffed it in my pocket just as he placed the key on the counter in front of me. "Why thank you so much." Then I leaned over the counter again and placed a kiss on his cheek. Snatching the keys up I waltzed out the door, and straight into a pair of broad shoulders. I glanced up and saw a pair of familiar green eyes.

"This is the second time that you've done that." I grinned.

"Yea, our room is number eight, stop by, we might have a case."

"Alright, but just to let you know, we have a case too."

"I guess we'll see which is better, huh, Sammy." He grinned and as I walked away I realized that I had been flirting with Sam. MY face burned bright red and I couldn't help but slap myself. It was weird, but, it was kind of fun.

.   .   .

"DEAN! SAMMY! You guys, why didn't you call?" Dean shrugged and I noticed that he seemed to be in a better mode than before. Hmmm, I wonder.....

"Jen, didn't you say that you might have a case?" Sam interjected. I smiled. Knowing those two they really had a case. If they did, I wanted in.

"Nah, I just said that so you would come talk to us. I know that you guys are the lucky ones to find the good cases, so I thought that you guys would let us go along." Dean grinned and wiggled his eyebrows. Getting up from my seat I walked over to him and raised my hand. I a fluid motion I turned it into a fist and slammed it into his shoulder.

"Hey!" He argued.

"My bad, I thought I saw a horrifying bug. Dear me, it's crawling towards your face. Hold still."

"AH! Sammy, get over here and sit her butt down." Sam laughed and I held my hands up in defeat. As I sat down Dean said. "By the way, nice flirting skills. I have to say, that guy was head over heels. I'm just jealous that you were able to get four nights half off." Chris raised an eyebrow and I smiled.

"Wait, flirting, why would you flirt with someone like him?" Sam asked. I laughed at his bewildered expression.

"Fifty dollars a night and I get to stay here for four nights half off. Not a bad deal for a little arm set and a smooch on the cheek, it's not like we were snogging or anything." Chris and Dean laughed while Sam shook his head.

"Well, for a more serious subject, we received a text message with coordinates leading here. After a little research I found out that two officers went to the Roosevelt Asylum that's here and after coming out officer Walter Kelly went home, shot his wife, and then killed himself."

"Nothing too strange." Chris said. I was also confused.

"That's just it, the same thing happened about fourteen years ago."

"Spirit maybe?" I asked. He nodded.

"We're going to find officer Danny Gunderson, he was the other officer that went to the asylum."

"Do you even know where to find him?" Chris asked. Dean nodded.

"At the moment, he is catching a drink in a bar, like any other guy."

.   .   .

(Chris's P.O.V.)

We traveled to the bar that Danny was at and found him sitting all alone. Jen and I hung back and watched as Dean waltzed over. Sitting down he started to ask questions about the Walter murder. Danny was obiviously starting to get upset when Sam came over, pulled Dean out of his chair, and shoved him back. From where we were we heard him say.

"Jeez, some people. That guy's a real ass." I chuckled and we went out back and waited for Sam. It had taken forever, but he finally came walking out, a somewhat stupid smile on his face.

"You shoved me kind of hard back there." Dean said rubbing his shoulder.

"It's method acting." Came Sam's reply. I covered my mouth as I saw Sam hide a smile.

"You find anything out?"

"Yea. Lots of stuff about the asylum, and the South Wing. "

"We should head over tomorrow and investigate. "Jen said walking back to our car and climbing in.

.   .   .

The next morning we all drove over to the asylum.

"My god!" Jen cried. I looked over and saw her shiver. "This place is so bloody scary. " I nodded, all over there were over turned tables and chairs. Papers littered the hallways and blood and glass filled the sides. Jen and I walked in a different direction from Sam and Dean and continued to explore on our own. "Creepy creepy creepy." I heard Jen mutter from behind me.

"How is it that you can walk straight up to a ghoul or vampire or even a windego and shoot them in the head and their brains and blood fly out and be fine, but walk through and abandon building and suddenly it's as if you turn into a big baby?" Jen shrugged and I sighed. "Sometimes I really don't understand you." We walked around for a while longer when we heard voices.

"I'm serious. You gotta be careful, all right? Ghosts are attracted to that whole ESP thing you got going on." It sounded like Dean, but what did he mean by ESP?

"I told you, it's not ESP! I just have strange vibes sometimes. Weird dreams." Deciding that we should most likely make ourselves known I came walking out from a corner and into their path.

"Hey guys, what's going on? Anything on your end?" Dean shook his head.

"Well, unless you count Sammy's encounter with a little ghost girl and the fact that I found this," Dean said brandishing a name plate. "As nothing then yea. "I grinned. We had a name. Now to find us a person.
