I was thinking of making an entire book about this one instead of just one shot. Let me know what you think, I am not sure if I will do it.

Katniss's pov

We turned on the announcement. Me, Prim, my mum and Haymitch. The Quarter Quell was making me nervous, literally anything could happen there and this will be my first time as a mentor.
"This year as a reminder that Capitol is the most powerful, family members and friends of existing victors from age 12 to 18, will be picked for this year's Hunger Games."
I couldn't believe it.
Family members of victors.
Haymitch doesn't have family, Peeta doesn't have sisters. It means that Prim will have to be the female tribute.
I looked at her. She realized the truth. Silently I hugged her when she started crying.
"It's going to be okay." I told her.
She didn't answer.

...

The reaping came.
There was one slip in female bowl and two in male.
Boys who can get picked are Gale and Peeta's brother. Yesterday I made sure that he promises me not to volunteer. I can't lose him too.
"The female tribute for this year's games will be..." Effie walked up to the bowl with tears in her eyes.
"Primrose Everdeen."
It was the second time when her name was called. This time I can't protect her.
Tears fell out of my eyes as Prim walked on the stage.
"Now for the boys,"
Please not Gale, please not Gale.

"Ray Mellark."

Peeta's brother got picked. He was 17 years old and he looked very similar to Peeta. He walked on the stage silently.

Me, Haymitch and Peeta did everything to train them as much as we can. We gave them all the advice we had. Ray wanted to save himself and he didn't want to protect Prim. I can't blame him for that, he doesn't even knows her.

Prim scored 5 on the performance and Ray 8. Ray was strong and surprisingly good at sword fighting. Prim didn't have much skills, she could heal and know the poison plants.

Days later, they got on the arena. The arena was werid and it kinda looked like a clock because each sector activated different traps.
Prim ran away from the Cornucopia as I told her to. 9 tributes died in the Bloodbath but both Ray and Prim survived.

Prim found an ally who was Coral from 4. Coral was 15 year old and was Annie's sister.
They walked together through the arena for four days. On first day they ran away from the poison fog which left them burn scars. Second day they spent on the beach but ran away when they noticed the careers. On third day they didn't got to any traps but then the fourth one came.

Monkey mutts attacked them. Coral managed to escape but didn't manage to save Prim. Primrose got ripped apart by monkeys.

She died in such brutal death on day 4 of 75th Hunger Games.

Ray got killed by the careers which he was looking for medicine in the Cornucopia. I was counting on Coral to win and I even sent her gifts.

She made it out to finale three. She got in one of the sectors with Diamond from 1 and Luna from 2. Coral managed to kill Luna while Diamond used this moment to get her throwing knives out of trees. Suddenly a lightning strike hit the near tree which made Coral die and Diamond left severely injured.

Coral was nearer the lighting which was the reason why she died. Diamond spent 10 days in a hospital but made it out alive.

Diamond from District 1 was 17 years old and was adopted daughter of Gloss.

I hated those games.
Prim died and I couldn't save her.

Nothing was the same after that, I had to mentor more tributes but I didn't know how to do it knowing that Prim is dead.
