he welcomed the applause

"do you think we did enough" i asked Peeta

"i hope so for all our sakes" he replied

"tonight on the last night of their tour i want to welcome our two victors. two young people who embody our ideals of strength and valour. And i personally want to congratulate them on their announcement of their engagement." they all cheered and clapped i smiled looking around.

"their love has inspired us and will continue to inspire us for as long as you may live." he raised his glass and the fireworks began. i looked at them before looking back at Snow he glared and shook his head at me. that only meant one thing. our plan hadn't worked.

we went back to the train. Peeta and I went to our room which we now

"it didn't work" i tell him

"what you mean" Peeta trailed of and i nodded in confirmation.

"all we did everything was in vein and no one is safe" i covered my face. "Peeta what are we going to do. none of them deserve to die." i mumbled and he wrapped his arms around me.

"we'll figure something out we always do" we changed for bed but that night i couldn't sleep so i went for a walk on my way through the cars i came across the surveillance room i watched fires and people fighting then there was someone holding up a copy of my pin. i headed to the food car and grabbed a bottle of whiskey and a glass then took it back to my room where Peeta was still asleep. taking a seat i began to drink the last thing i remember was Peeta waking up calling me.

"Lilly. Lilly wake up" i groaned struggling to open my eyes but when i did i saw Peeta

"what time is it"

"time for you so sober up" he handed me some coffee and i drank it graciously .

"what happened last night i woke up and you were passed out." he asked me as i sat up trying to remember the events causing me to drink.

"it's worse than i thought" i mumbled

"what is"

"last night i couldn't sleep so i went for a walk and as i did i came across the surveillance room. Peeta it was horrible." i shook my head

"what's happening? what did you see?"

"there was fires and peacemakers killing those who created them and..." i trailed off

"what"

"they were fighting back Peeta and its because of me"

"hey don't say that"

"it's true the were holding up signs of the mockingjay my mockingjay. Pete they saw me defy the capitol because i couldn't bare loosing you and i got away with it now everyone thinks they can do the same." he sighed and hugged me.

"we'll get through this we always do"

back home i went to find to find Gale cause since last night i knew things were going to change dramatically and soon. i found him coming back from the mines.

"when did you?" i launched myself into a hug and he returned it

"We need to talk" i told him then let go he nodded and i began to take him to the forest.

"Lilly you're back" Katniss smiled and i took her hand too before going through the gap. Once we were at a safe enough distance i began.

"We need to run" i told them

"what do you mean?" Kat asked

"all of us me you two, Rosie, Mrs Everdeen, Rory, Vick, Posy, Mum, Peeta and Mr Mellark just need to up and leave now we can be far away from here. its not safe"

"when has it ever been safe"

"Its worse than that Gale. Snow threaten to have you killed." i stressed

"who else" Kat wondered

"didn't exactly see the whole list but...whole of district 12" i scratched my head

"unless what you and Peeta get married" Gale glared

"unless nothing now. He asked me to make sure everyone was distracted" i rubbed my face

"do you think president Snow is bluffing" Kat questioned

"he's not bluffing not with what's going on in the other districts" i shook my head

"what did you see" Gale make me look at him.

"people fighting and fires. peacekeepers were gunning them down but the people" i hesitated

"what the people were what?" Kat urged

"they were fighting back" i told them and the both looked at each other.

"its happening its finally happening."

"maybe i should have just eaten the berries and died like i was supposed to then none of you would be in danger"

"no Lilly just no. you fought for love and would give your life for it this is not your fault so stop thinking like that" Kat ordered

"Lilly you haven't hurt them you've given them a opportunity to hope. they just have to be brave enough to take it. there is already talk in the mines they want to fight and so do i. So if you wanna run go ahead but I'm not coming with you." 

"Lilly you've become the beacon of hope" Kat told me

"but i don't want to be. All i wanna do is live my life but i can't" we heard vehicles coming and we ducked Gale looked at me.

"do what you want but I'm not going with you"
