Avni felt a little better after the 5 minutes convo with her dad. She closed her eyes and leaned against the bed trying to get some sleep.

Avni and Anjali sat in the hall completing their homework. Just then Avni realised something.

Anju.. I want to show you something.. Avni said excitedly. She kept her books aside and ran upstairs.

Dumbo go slow! Anjali scolded her but Avni royally ignored her. She took the book from her room and ran downstairs. She didn't realise when she skipped a step. Her eyes widened and she screamed as she rolled down the stairs.

Anjali saw the scene and quickly ran to her. She took Avni's head in her lap and patted her cheeks. Her eyes welled up looking at her state.

Madhavi came there and saw Avni's forehead bleeding. She was in semi-conscious state. She helped Avni to the sofa.

Anjali took a cloth and pressed it on the wound. Meanwhile Madhavi called the doctor and then immediately called Ayesha.

Madhavi what happened? Ayesha asked her in irritation. She was in a meeting when Madhavi's call interrupted her.

Mam voh Avni Ko chot lag gayi hai.. she slipped from the staircase.. her condition is not good.. Madhavi tried to speak but Ayesha cut her off.

Then call the doctor.. I have told you right that don't call me in the office unless it's urgent.. take care of her.. saying this she cut the call. Madhavi looked at the phone in disbelief. She sighed and walked to Avni.

Soon the doctor came and checked her. She prescribed some medicines and gave to Madhavi. Madhavi looked at her in worry.

Don't worry she is completely fine.. wound is little deep but she will be fine.. I have dressed up her wounds.. I will leave now.. saying this doctor left.

Madhavi caressed Avni's hair. She assured Anjali that Avni was fine and asked her to go home. Anjali looked at Avni and then left.

Madhavi felt bad for Avni. Her parents never cared for the little child. She covered Avni with the quilt and left.

After sometime she came back with some sandwiches and juice. She saw Avni awake and kept the tray on the table. Avni smiled at her but Madhavi didn't look at her making her sigh.

Madhavi tai.. kab tak gussa rahoge ab maaf kar do na.. Avni tried to pacify her. She was always like her best friend.

Avni bacha.. what if something happened? I have told you so many times to take care of yourself but you don't listen to me! Madhavi sat besides her and caressed her hair. She was with Avni when she was 6 years old. She always treated her like her own child.

Sorry Madhavi tai.. I won't repeat this ever.. pakka! Avni said with a cute smile. Madhavi smiled at her.

Aman slumped on the sofa tiredly. Madhavi gave him water. He thanked her and asked about Avni. Madhavi fed him about everything.

He quickly went upstairs to see Avni reading a book. He sat besides her with an annoyed expression.

Bhai before you say anything.. I am really sorry.. I didn't realise when I slipped.. I am not hurt.. see I am fine.. Avni spoke in one go. He raised his brow at her.

Acha.. what is this then.. he spoke while pointing towards the white bandage on her forehead. She held her ears making Aman sigh.

Leave all this.. now help with the project.. submission date is near.. Avni said. Aman nodded at her. He went to his room to get fresh.

Avni came back from school with a poker face. Her eyes were little red. Madhavi looked at her and understood that she had cried.

What happened Avni.. tumhara mood off kyu hai aaj.. kuch hua hai kya baccha? Madhavi asked with worry. Avni shook her head tiredly.

Teacher scolded me alot today.. Juhi spoiled my project.. she always does this.. Avni spoke sadly. Madhavi caressed her hair.

Don't worry we will make a new one.. I will help you okay..? Madhavi tried to cheer her up.

No use tai.. today was the last day to submit..but she ruined everything..  Avni said.

No worries.. you go and get fresh.. I will make you some Poha.. Madhavi said. Avni nodded and went upstairs.

In evening Ayesha came home and kept her files on the table. She called Avni and sat on the sofa. Avni came downstairs to see a upset Ayesha.

What is all this!? Kindly explain! Ayesha asked in a strict tone. She was already tired due to her work but Avni added to her worries.

Mumma.. Juhi spoiled my project-- Avni tried to speak but Ayesha stopped her. She pinched her temples in frustation.

Enough of your lies! Your teacher called me up and told you didn't complete your project.. care to explain why? Ayesha asked her. Avni's eyes welled up.

Mumma I am not lying.. I completed my project on time but-- Avni spoke but Ayesha stopped her.

But what? Someone broke it huh!? I am so fed of you Avni! One more time I hear a complain from your teacher.. I will take all your video games! Understood? Ayesha said strictly. Avni nodded.

Avni walked to her room quietly. She sat on the study table and started doing her homework quietly.

After sometime Aman came and saw Avni scribbling something in her notebook. He walked closer to her to have a clear view. He muffled his laughter as he saw her book.

Avni looked at him and quickly closed her book. He broke into fits of laughter. Avni pouted at him.

Seriously Avni? You were making emojis!? Aman said while trying to control his laughter.

Leave all this bhai.. how was your exam? Avni asked and got up from her chair.

It was nice.. are you prepared for tomorrow's exam? Aman asked. Avni nodded at him.

I hope this time that Juhi is not my partner! Avni said with irritation. Aman looked at her.

Now what did she do? Aman asked. Avni looked at him.

She ruined my whole project today.. teacher and Mumma scolded me so much.. just because of her.. she leaves no chance of harrassing me.. Avni spoke as they walked downstairs for dinner.

Don't worry I am there na.. Aman spoke making Avni smile at him.

They sat on the dinning table. Soon Ashish joined them. Avni looked at Ayesha who was still upset at her. She tried to speak to her randomly but Ayesha didn't reply much.

Ashish looked at both the ladies and understood the tiff. He decided not to interfere between the mother daughter duo. He had his dinner silently and went to his room.

Avni saw Ayesha leaving to her room. She stopped her and tried to apologise.

Enough Avni! Go back to your room.. Ayesha spoke and tried to go but Avni stopped her.

Mumma meri baat toh sunno.. Avni spoke softly. Ayesha looked at her.

Kya sunu haa? Everytime you make some damn excuse.. learn to accept your mistakes Avni! This is not acceptable! Ayesha yelled at her. Ashish came downstairs to see Ayesha yelling at Avni.

He placed his hand on her shoulder. He didn't knew what happened again but all he needed was peace in the house.

Ayesha.. don't shout.. it's ok forgive her now.. Ashish spoke softly and tried to calm her down.

No Ashish! I am so fed of all this now.. yeh ladki jaha jaati hai vaha problems create kar deti hai.. Ayesha spoke angrily and stormed to her room. Unknowingly her words stabbed Avni's heart. Ashish looked at Avni who was in tears. He bent down and wiped her tears.

It's ok baby.. mumma is angry right now.. everything will be fine.. you go back to your room okay? Ashish spoke softly. Avni nodded and went to her room.

All this was witnessed by Aman. He felt helpless. He wanted to stand by his sister but he could not go against his mother.

Avni entered the room and closed the door behind her. She slumped on her bed and started crying.
