     It was a pretty quiet day for the Survey Corps, so Lissa, Levi, Eld, Olou, Petra, and Gunther were all chilling out in one of their personal cabins. It was a shared cabin, though it had enough rooms so that girls shared one and boys shared the other. Levi got the third room so that he could be alone, plus there was supposedly more space without him.

"How can there be more space without him when he's such a shorty?" Lissa questioned with a smirk.

Levi rolled his eyes. "You're shorter than I am, Brat."

"Levi has a point." Eld commented.

Lissa sighed and rolled her eyes, though she was smiling in amusement. "Yeah, yeah, yeah."

"We should do something." Petra suggested. "Sitting around doing just about nothing is so boring."

"What do you think we should do?" Gunther asked, looking over at Petra.

Petra thought for a moment before she shrugged. "Play some kind of game?"

Lissa looked at Petra and thought a moment. "That sounds fun, but what kind of game? There aren't very many. Mostly chess and checkers."

"What if we play checkers, but with a little twist?" Petra asked with a small smirk.

"I'm not sure I like that look." Lissa commented, eyeing the girl.

"Come on, it'll be fun! Trust me." Petra replied, grabbing the checkers and the board before sitting at the kitchen table.

All the others joined her, Levi included, and got the board set up. Olou looked up.

"Who goes first?" He asked.

"Maybe we should roll dice to determine who goes with who?" Eld suggested. "The two with the highest numbers pair up, then whoever rolls the higher number plays the winner?"

Lissa shrugged. "Sounds good to me." She replied.

Gunther and Olou were the first two to play, with Gunther as the winner. Eld was up next, and he beat Gunther. Petra then played against Eld, but lost to him, then Levi went up against him. Levi beat Eld, then it was Lissa's turn to play.

"Oh great, I'm up against Levi." Lissa groaned, taking a seat across from him as the others looked on.

"He is the best at it." Eld commented. "Good luck, Lissa."

"Thanks, I'll need it." She murmured in response, moving a red checker piece forward.

Just as Levi was about to move his own checker piece forward, the door to the cabin opened, causing them all to look up.

A frightened scout saluted before quickly speaking. "You are needed immediately. Titans have been spotted nearby— followed some other troops back. Our men are in danger."

Levi got up without a moment's hesitation and made his way to his room, shouting, "Everyone get your gear and prepare for battle!"

     Lissa quickly got up from the table and made her way to the room she and Petra shared. She was already grabbing her gear when Petra walked in to get her own.

     "Had a feeling a day off would be too good to be true." Petra murmured as she got into her gear.

     "Same here." Lissa replied, finishing getting into gear before she threw her cloak on and walked out of the room. Eld was already outside preparing his horse, so she walked out and got hers ready before she prepared Levi's horse, since Eld's horse was giving him a bit of trouble at the moment.

     "Whoa, girl, calm down. It's okay." He murmured, then he looked at Lissa and gave a nod of thanks, since he was usually the one to ready the captain's horse— unless he was out to do it himself, which Levi normally insisted on.

Levi gave Lissa a brief nod of appreciation before he mounted his horse. Once everyone was out, he kicked his horse forward and took off, everyone following shortly behind.

     They soon came upon the Titans, and on Levi's command, they sprung into action. They soon had many of the Titans down, and Lissa was about to go after the last one, which was the biggest out of them.

     "Don't go after it!" Levi commanded, then he narrowed his eyes and made his way to the Titan. "This one is mine." Did he think Lissa could handle it? Sure. She was a great fighter and had learned all her skills from him. But he didn't want to risk her getting hurt.

Lissa looked at Levi before turning away from the Titan. This was no time for arguing, so she would just have to obey her captain. Besides, Levi always knew what he was doing.

Levi went after the Titan and landed on the nape of its neck. However, just as he was about to slice it, the nape hardened. His eyes widened and he jumped back before the beast could slap him away like he was nothing more than an insect.

Levi followed after the Titan as it began walking off, then narrowed his eyes when it covered the nape of its neck. Great. An intelligent one.

Levi, after some quick but careful thought, went after its legs. Afterwards, he began slicing at the arms, and soon, the Titan was down, and its arms fell off, too.

The short, black-haired man then went for the nape, but right as he struck, the nape hardened again and caused the sword to break.

Levi mentally cursed and looked at its steaming limbs. They'd be grown back soon at this rate. He used his gear to pull himself into a tree branch for the time being so he could think of a plan.

"Captain!" Petra called over. "What are we going to do?"

     Right as Levi was about to respond, the Titan rose to its grown back knees and swatted at Levi with an arm stub.

     Levi quickly jumped out of the way, then attached to the Titan again and landed on its shoulder in another attempt to strike at its nape. However, the Titan smacked him off, causing the captain to stumble back and slip off of the Titan.

     The Titans hands and feet soon grew back. It grabbed Captain Levi, rose to its feet, then walked over to a nearby cliff before dropping him.

     "Captain!" Lissa screamed.

     The Titan looked at them before it took off running away from the walls. Before they could even think about following, it was out of sight.
