Altaria

For centuries, Meteor Falls was home to the fearsome dragons, but you were afraid of dragons, which was ironic in it's own right. The town people took pleasure in teasing you about your fear, saying you wouldn't go far into caves or powerful places, because dragon types were the most power type in the world. Even the greatest legendaries were dragons. Determined to prove them wrong, you gather your belongings and journey towards Meteor Falls.

Well, you were only going towards the grass area, not into the actual cave. But it was a step up in the world!

You cursed under your breath as the hot summer air made your shirt sick to your sweaty back. It became uncomfortable to move as you tried airing out your shirt, and that didn't work. But, the cool air blowing was heaven on your back.

"Grrrs..." You mumbled under your breath, climbing on top of a large rock. "How do Pokemon Trainers handle this type of weather? This is unbearable!"

A flock of Swablu flew pass over your head, humming a beautiful melody. You tensed up at the sight of them. Though they weren't a dragon type, yet, you still knew they evolved into Altaria. A dragon type, no matter how beautiful or harmful they looked, you didn't trust a single one.

When climbing halfway through the mountain side, your mind begin to daze in and out of reality.  Before you knew it, you were back in your childhood memories. A new dragon type you never seen before loomed over you, it's sharp claws and blue skin glinted sharply off the sun's harsh rays. You cried in pain as one of it's fin cut your right index finger off. Only because you took a berry from it's pile of berries.

It raised it's sharp claws high in the air, the wind getting cut from just the movement alone. You watched as it's claw sliced through your entire right arm, the blood spilling out in violent waves, gushing down onto the ground.

A scream ripped through your throat as you reached for your right arm. It was only a memory, the cold metal replacing your right arm from long ago. Cold sweat dripped down your neck and back as you looked around, noticing your weren't outside anymore. A waterfall echoed inside your ears as the dim lit cave barley gave out any light. It was then looking around , you realized you were sleeping on top of a man.

You quickly stood up, tripping over yourself by accident, and breathing heavily. He looked to be a human version of an Altaria. He had a dreamy expression on his face, it wasn't until you spoke he noticed you.

"Who the hell are you?" You demanded.

A slow smile spread across his face as he stretched his fluffy cloud like arms. "An Altaria, only human form. You're a human, so you should know what a human is, don't you?"

"Excuse me? Of course I know-ah!" You winced as your shoulder tensed too hard. You would get muscle cramps from the past injury, because the dragon pokemon cut not only through your arm, but it tore some muscle in the process.

Altaria noticed, an eyebrow raising in question. "You were following my humming, and it brought you back a memory it seems. Strange, my voice is suppose to bring wonderful, calming memories. Are you a grief stricken person?"

The truth struck you in the chest, because he was right. Your childhood itself was miserable, it wasn't until the production of your metal arm is when your life was turning right for yourself. "Keep it to yourself, because it's my own business."

You turned your back on him, finding the path and started to go down until Altaria spoke again. "Just because one dragon pokemon did that to you, doesn't mean all of us are savages. I am a dragon type, and yet I didn't too anything too you. I hum to the people passing by to give them pleasant daydreams or memories, but yet, you refused my humming but were still lured to me."

"Look, I don't have time for you." You gave him a glare and crossed your arms, protecting yourself. "I have PTSD, a term I'm sure you've never heard. It's what humans get when they are faced with horrible experiences."

"Then please, stay with me for the night. " He spread his wings in a wide arc, making a huge cloud behind him. "Let me help by getting rid of your fear of dragon pokemon. If you don't confront your fear, you'll never get far in life. Even the past can drag you down."

Two sides were fighting inside you. Trust him or ditch him. You though about it, how he didn't attack you at all. So, you decided to stay. Altaria smiled in appreciation and showed you all the dragon pokemon around Meteor Falls. Slowly but surely, you were opening up to them. All of them didn't hurt you or mess with you, they only smiled.

Night came around when Altaria gave you a tiny meteor necklace. "This has the powers to control dragon pokemon. It's small, which means if you use too much of it's powers it will break. If another dragon pokemon ever tries to hurt you, use this too protect yourself."

You took it and put it around your neck, the light from the fire glinted off the onyx color. "Thanks. I should be going, it's getting pretty late."

"Why don't you sleep on my arm, it's pretty fluffy."

"I'm not going-"

Altaria silenced you by hugging you tightly, humming a melodious tune. Before you knew it you were drifting into a dream of everything pure and good in the world. Altaria knew this all wouldn't cure your fear of dragon pokemon, but he had to at least try. Because he saw you back when you were a child, him just only a tiny Swablu at the time. He didn't know what the pokemon was when it attacked you, but he used sing to make the pokemon fall asleep before it could kill you.

He felt guilty and powerless when the pokemon was attacking you, and this was the only way he could make up for his sin of not stepping in at the time of need.
