(At hospital)

"Who is here for Alpha Alex?" A female nurse asks walking into the waitng room.

I jolt up.

"Me, I'm here for Alex." I say walking towards her.

"Follow me, Doctor Quin would like to speak with you." She says turning around.

"Karlie, do you want me to come with you?" Aidan says from behind me.

"Oh, so now you want to talk to me?" I snap and begin walking.

"Karlie Ann im sorry." He says following with me.

"I don't want to talk about this now." I say walking into the room the nurse guided me to.

I walk in to see Samantha Quin, the packs doctor when Josh is out looking at a clip board.

"Hi Sam." I say walking in.

"Hello Karlie how are you?" She asks giving me a faint smile.

"I'm doing okay, how's Alex?" I ask.

"As we know, he was bitten by the vampire, the venom is slowly spreading through his body."

"Is there a way to save him?" I ask hopeful but unfortunately I know the answer to that.

"I'm sorry Karlie Ann, but there isn't anything we can do to help him." She says putting her hand on my shoulder.

I put my hands to my face as tears fall.

"How long do we have with him?" I ask through my silent sob.

"Approximately a month. It will be the most painful time he has ever gone through." She says.

I nod.

"I must leave now and check on the rest of your friends." Samantha says and then she's gone.

Once she's gone I walk to Ales bed and sit in the chair beside him.

Ales face is very pale and you can see very vein in his body.

I put my head in my hands and let tears fall.

"Dont do that."

I look up to see Ale looking at me.

"What?" I says wiping my face.

"Dont cry for me." He says closing his eyes.

"Ale look at you. Youre in the hospital. How can I not cry?" I ask.

"I'm not your mate anymore." He says hurtly.

"But I still care about you Alex." I say sitting up.

"Why? I hurt you." He says.

"Yes you did. But you were my first mate. I'll always care about you. Maybe not as my mate, but as my friend." I say looking at him.

Ale doesn't say anything.

"Whyd you do that?" I ask him.

"Save him. My mate." I say sitting on the edge of the bed.

He doesn't reply right away, but the speaks.

"That night, when he came here. I saw the way he looked at you. It pissed me off, because that was the way I used to look at you. But I knew he was nothing like me. Which was a good thing. I'm a terrible person you deserved much better." He says with a small smile.

I tilt my head to the side.

"Dont say that Alex."

"But it's true. During the fight, if they were to kill him, I knew it would hurt way more than it did from when I rejected you. And I couldn't let that happen to you." He says trying to sit up.

I help him, and adjust his bed so he gets comfortable.

"Thank you Alex." I say dabbing at my eyes so no more tears falls.

"Dont worry about it." He says then turns in the tv.

Just then there's knock on the door.

"Come in." I say.

The door opens and there stands Aidan.

"May I come in?" He asks nervously cracking his knuckles.

I go to say no but Ale suprises me by saying yes.

Aidan walks in and I'm guess out of respect sits on the opposite side of me.

"How are you feeling?" He asks Ale.

"I'm breathing for now." Ale replies looking at the tv.

"Alpha Alex-"Aidan begins but Ale lifts his hand up.

"Please don't show me any sign of respect. I don't deserve it." Ale says putting his hand down.

"Any being who saves my life, gain my up most respect." Aidan says.

Ale doesn't reply so Aidan continues.

"Thank you for saving me, but I'd like to know why. Seeing our differences."

"Like I told Karlie Ann, I see the way you look at her, with respect and adoration. Something I rumbly never did. She has a glow to her now. Shes happy." Ale says looking at me.

"And I don't want to take that away from her." He adds ending with a terrible cough.

His cough is very long and loud, soon a nurse comes in and kindly tells us that we need to leave so they can aid to Ale.

I walk back to the waiting room, I sit and place my head in my hands, my elbows resting on my knees.

I then feel someone place their hands on my knees.

Chills regulate through my body, meaning it's Aidan.

I lift my head up to see him crouched down in front of me.

"Karlie Ann im sorry." He says looking into my eyes.

"For what?" I snap.

"For Alex and for the way I acted at the ware house."

"Why did you act that way?" I ask.

He takes a deep breath, and takes the chair beside me and moves it so its now in front of me.

"At first I had a plan, maybe if they thought I was on their side, they would trust me alone with yous. Then I would free you guys."

I don't say anything, he continues.

"But Elias sent me mind message saying that there were vampires surrounding the warehouse and if I tried anything he would kill us all. So I had act like i was with them." He said trying to grab my hands.

I pull away.

"You let your sister beat me!" I shout.

"I know, and I'm sorry she did those things. I'm for everything that happened." He says trying to grab my hands again.

This time I don't pull away because his touch seems to calm me.

"I will never let anyone hurt you again. Ever." He says moving a strand of hair out of my face.

Not want in to be angry anymore, because it puts weight inn heart, I nod and hug him.

"And I'll be by your side supporting Alex." He says pulling away looking into my eyes.

"He's going to die Aidan." I say as my eyes fill with tears.

"I know." He says wiping my tears.

(4 days later)

Aidan and I have been visiting Alex as much as we can.

We bring games and thing to keep his mind off the pain, but it doesn't help much.

To my utter shock Alex and Aidan have become besties.

They have alot in common and never like to shut up. They even like to roast me.

Luckily we are able to put off the talk with the others. Unfortunately it's because most of them are injured.

Lucy is unconscious and Blake is in a coma.

I split up my time to see them.
Blake's coma is cause from the trauma to his head from that bitch Nadia.

I'm so glad I was the one who killed her.

Blake will recover from this but, Samatha said he will suffer from terrible headaches. But I guess that's better from other side effects.

As for Lucy, Bentley only lets visitors in for a short amount of time. But I can't complain I would be the same way if my mate was in Lucy's condition.

Currently Aidan and I are in Alex's room. Alex has fell asleep, Aidan is playing a game on his phone and as for me surprisingly I'm reading a book.

As I'm reading, Alex begins his cough.

Aidan runs to get some help.

I help Alex so up, his coughs are getting worse. He now coughs out blood. Which is not a good sign.

As he finish his episode of coughs, I look at him.

He gets worse everyday.

The venom is eating away at his body, making him very skinny, and fragile. His skin is now white, not as his normal tan.

"Hold on Alex, someone's coming." I say.

He waves me off and just sits there.

Soon Aidan returns with two nurses who aid to Alex.

We stand back watching.

Then in comes Samatha.

She quickly jogs over to Ale.

"This doesn't look good guys. The venom is speeding up." She says taking Ales temperature.

"What does that mean?" Aidan asks taking my hand.

"It means, his life is coming to end quicker then we thought." Samantha says.

I cry, and turn to Aidan who hugs me.

The nurses and Samatha run a few more test on Ale, then give him a medication that makes him sleep.

"Karlie, May I speak with you?" Samatha says taking off her gloves.

I nod, and she walks out the room, I follow her.

"Alex's time is coming to end. Sooner than what we predicted. His pain levels are increasing. And I know he looks pretty bad right now, but this isn't the worse. He will begin to lose all the hair on his body, and he will detach with his wolf. The pain will be unbearable." Samantha says.

"You can't slow it down?" I cry.

"I cant. I suggest you guys spend the as much time as you can with him." She says putting her hand in my shoulder giving it a tight squeeze before walking away.

I stand in the hallway as tears flow.

I then walk into his room.

"Aidan." Ale says. He looks hurt when he talks.

"Alex go to sleep." Aidan says softly.

"No, I need to say this." He says drowsy.

"I know we had our differences, but I'm surprised to say this but you're pretty cool for being a leech, no offense." Ale says and Aidan smiles.

"Please take care of Karlie Ann, love her and protect her with all your heart. Promise me youll do that." He says.

"I promise." Aidan says a little tear eyed.

Ale then looks to me.

"Karlie Ann, you were the best thing that could have happened to me, but I'm sad to say I didn't realise it until you weren't mine. I don't want to hold you back anymore. I'm glad you moved on. You found a pretty decent guy." He says nodding his head.

He then closes his fists and eyes, and lets a groan. He must be feeling the pain.

"I want you to let them put me down." He says in between breaths.

"You make it sound like your a pet." I say with unsure laugh.

He smiles.

"I kinda am."

"Are you sure of this?" Aidan asks.

"Dude, look at me. I look like one of your kind." He says with a smirk.

Aidan smiles, looks down and shakes his head.

"Karlie Ann please." Ale says.

I let tears fall down my face.

"I'll go get the doctor." Aidan says then leaves.

"I'm sorry." I say grabbing his hand.

"Dont. You shouldn't be the one apologizing. I'm sorry. I'm sorry for what happened between us. I'm sorry for causing you all this pain. But I guess my karma has came around." He says smiling.

I shake my head, and in walks Samatha.

"Are you sure this is what you want to do?" She asks.

I look at Ale, we lock eyes while he nods.

She then walks to the cabniet, pulling out a syringe and a clear medication. She fills the syringe.

"Once I inject this into your IV, you'll have one minute before your heart stops." Samantha says to Ale.

Ale nods.

"I'm very sorry this happened to you Alpha, but i know the mood goddess is has a special spot for you." She says injecting the syringe into his IV.

My heart starts to beat faster, and I pull him into a tight hug.

"Promise me two things Karlie Ann." He says slowly.

I pull away.

"Yes anything." I say as he wipes my tears.

"One promise me you'll never forget me. At least the good parts." He says closing his eyes.

"I'll try."

Why can't I be serious? Now is not a good time to be sarcastic Karlie Ann.

He chuckles.

"Two promise me you'll never change. Keep being a smart ass." He says even slower.

"Yes I promise." I sob.

He doesn't say anything.

"Alex?" I cry.

"Promise me youll be the
Alpha of the Corleon Pack." He says, then ECG goes dead.

Meaning Ale my first mate, is dead.

I sob and Aidan runs into the room hugging me.

I push away and squeeze Ales lifeless hand.

I kiss his forhead, then look at up.

"I promise."
