1.5 - To Be Or Not To Be
1.5 - To Be Or Not To Be
Katherine stared at Alivia for a good few minutes, processing what she'd just said. A vampire. Alivia wanted to be a vampire. Alivia didn't even know why thay came out of her mouth when it did. It just blurted out.
Never had she thought about being one. Never did she want to be one. But in this moment something told her to ask and say it.
Katherine rolled over and sat on the bed. "You...you want to be a vampire?" She asked for clarification.
Alivia nodded, sitting up slightly. "I do." She whispered.
"Why? Not that I'm objecting, but why would you want to drink blood, possibly kill for blood, have an off switch for humanity and watch all the people you love die?" Katherine made very good, negative points as to why she shouldn't become a vampire. But Alivia had one answer.
"Because I want to be with you forever." They'd been together for what seemed like forever. A relationship that was true to both of their hearts. Opposite people, but opposites attract.
Katherine smiled a real smile. "I want that. Believe me I do. But I don't think it's time for you." Alicante scooted herself towards Katherine and took her hand.
"Then when? I want to be turned by you. Pick the time and day and that's when. I won't judge ands long as you're the one to turn me." Katherine was warmed that Alivia wanted her to do it.
"What about Matt? He'll be heartbroken." Katherine cared deeply about Alivia, so she wanted to make sure she was absolutely positive that she wanted this.
"Maybe he'll become one too. But it's my life, one I want to spend with you. You won't love me when I'm old while you're still young and beautiful." Alivia felt a tear streak down her face. Katherine wiped it away.
"Trust me, I wouldn't care if you were eighty; I'd still love you." Katherine's sweet side came out, a side rarely seen even by Alivia. But it was specially reserved for her.
Alivia leaned and kiss her quickly. "So...when?"
"When's your birthday?"

"She's already made it pretty clear that she wants to only be friends, so you telling me exactly that is crushing." Caroline said to Bonnie the next day after sharing her theory.
"Exactly. Stay her friend. I'm not saying I fully support you and her being together since you did the unthinkable, but you deserve a chance already happiness. Maybe you'll move on, maybe she and Katherine won't last forever. But give it time Care, there's other people in this world waiting for someone as amazing as you." Caroline smiled widely at Bonnie and hugged her tight.
"Thank you Bonnie, I love you." Bonnie smiled. But then her smile faltered a bit. She saw Katherine and Alivia, hand in hand walking down the street.
As if on instinct, Caroline turned and saw the two girls. She didn't frown, she didn't smile. She just watched with a solid face. The two walked into the jewelry store.
"Maybe she's buying her and necklace or something?" Bonnie suggested. Caroline shrugged.
"I'm her friend. I should be happy for her. But, it's hard to be happy for someone you love too much." Caroline whisked away, leaving Bonnie in the streets staring at the window of the jewelry store.

With the small box in hand, Alivia held her hand up proudly to look at the small amethyst ring that sat on her pointer finger.
"When it happens I'll give it to a witch to make into a daylight ring." Katherine informed her girlfriend.
"It won't leave my finger." Alivia promised.
Her birthday, conveniently in two months, was the day she would be a vampire. She would be eighteen, an adult and what Katherine thought was a great age to change.
Secretly, Katherine was trying to hold it off for as long as she could. Of course she wanted to be with Alivia forever, but they still had time. She still had time.
Alivia had to work that night, but promised she would be back at her house. She kissed Katherine goodbye and headed to the Grill herself. She couldn't help to stare at the ring that rested on her finger.
It was beautiful. Now another reason why she couldn't wait till her birthday.
"Alivia!" Caroline called, after many moments gathering courage to see her.
Alivia smiled at the blonde when she turned. "Hey Care." She greeted.
"Headed to the Grill?" Caroline asked. Alivia nodded.
"Meet too. I'll walk with you." Alivia began walking. Caroline slipped her arm to link with Alivia's.
"A ring?" Caroline asked, eyeing the small ring on her finger.
Alivia nodded. "Yeah, kinda like a promise ring. Katherine insisted." It wasn't a total lie. It was a promise to be together forever.
Caroline nodded. Impressed by Katherine's actions. She really liked Alivia, even if she was manipulative, not with Alivia.
They made it to the Grill and Alivia bid Caroline goodbye. Alivia noticed Damon sitting at the bar.
"There's my favourite bartender." Damon said when Alivia came round as she tied her apron.
She smiled. "My favourite customer, what can I get you?"
"The usual." Alivia grabbed the borbon and poured a glass.
Damon drank, then noticed something. A hickey on the side of Alivia's neck. Smirking, his finger pointed. "Concealer will do wonders for that."
An odd sentence to ever come from Damon Salvatore mouth, one she thought she'd never hear until she looked in the mirror by the employee doors and saw the purplish mark.
Alivia gasped and put her hand against it. "Matt will flip if he sees this!" She exclaimed.
Damon didn't want to say anything, be he noticed the ring on her finger. The feeling he had was one that he didn't like. And he was sure Matt wouldn't care about a hickey if he saw the ring.
She ran into the back room, trying to hid herself. Caroline noticed and followed. She saw Alivia's hand on her neck and instantly grew worried.
"Alivia, are you--" Caroline stopped when she saw the purple peaking out. It angered her. "Katherine hurt you?"
Alivia turned to Caroline with wide eyes. "No! No, Caroline! It's--" Alivia removed her hand and Caroline felt stupid. But a small jealousy rumbled.
"Oh." Caroline then dug through her purse to pull out concealer.
"Thank you." Alivia quickly applied it to her neck, but was missing it completely. Caroline refrained her hardest from gigging.
"Wait, let me, you're missing it." Caroline approched and used her two fingers in a circular to cover the hickey.
Alivia kept her neck exposed. Thoughts ran through Caroline's mind, but she wouldn't act on them. She backed away when finished, ignoring the fact that her face was red.
"Um, thanks." Alivia said again and left Caroline in the room.
Caroline couldn't help but think about how fast Alivia's heart was beating when the event was happening. Maybe it was because she was afraid of anyone seeing it.
Or maybe it was because of how close they were.

An extremely early update? Only 5 chapters left! What's gonna happen? Is Alivia feeling different about Caroline? I was very happy to be able to wrote another chapter quickly. Alivia's story is coming to an end soon.
Much love, Rhylee
