0.8 - Messed Emotions

The next morning Alivia found herself awake since the night before, just staring up at the ceiling.

The voices had stopped, but her brain was still wide awake. Never had she ever been like that when seeing Caroline, ever. It was strange to see the symptoms of a crush approched her so suddenly.

She got up and sat at the end of her bed, only for a moment before her phone began to ring. Katherine's name came on the screen and a single voice popped into her head.

She answered the phone call anyways. "Hi, Katherine."

"Are you working today?" Katherine asked on the other line.

"Yeah I think so." Alivia answered, pressing a hand to her head to try and relieve the pain.

"Want me to come keep you company?" She asked. She sounded happier than usual. Alivia was about to say yes when it felt like someone was screaming in her head.

Alivia shouted in pain and dropped her phone. She fell to her knees and pressed her palms to her head tightly, trying to surpress the pain. Katheirne was shouting on the other line.

They suddenly went away, as if that was punishment enough for her. Alivia picked up the phone and breathed heavily.

"Actually, I don't think I'm going today. I'm taking a day off." Alivia said, stopping Katherine's cries for her.

"Are you okay?!" She asked.

"Fine, just stubbed my toe. I've got to go but I'll see you later." Alivia said quickly before hanging up on her.

Alivia sat on her bed, soon letting tears fall freely. She closed her eyes and breathed, not able to grasp why this was happening so suddenly.

She opened her eyes and looked up, letting out a few cries for confusion and pain.

"Why is this happening to me?"

Staying home wasn't an option when there was nothing to do, so Alivia went out of the house and went to find her friends.

She'd let Matt know she was taking the day off so she was able to go into the Grill without being questioned.

Elena and Caroline were sitting at a table in the back discussing amongs themselves and Alivia decided to join.

"Hey guys." She greeted, sliding into the side Caroline sat.

Their legs brushed and Alivia felt a tingle go through her body. Caroline looked at her with wide eyes, wondering if she'd felt it too.

"How are you?" Elena asked, looking between the two.

"I think I might be getting something. I keep getting these massive headaches." Alivia admitted. Caroline and Elena looked at each other knowingly.

Katherine sat observing, far enough that they wouldn't see her. She watched Alivia's facial expression when their legs had brushed, and she didn't like it one bit.

She in fact growled at how Alivia had lied to her to see her friends. Or Caroline. But she knew Alivia wasn't interested in Caroline in the slightest, so why did she look so nervous around her?

Katherine pulled out her phone and dialed a number of a friend who owed her a favor.

"Hey. Can you find out if any vampires of witches have been visited by Caroline Forbes recently?"

Caroline knew it wasn't wise, but she went to visit Alivia. She'd been standing outside her house for ten minutes, debating whether or not to ask her out.

She knocked and almost instantly the door opened. Alivia's face went from serious to confusion and nervousness.

"Care, what are you doing here?" Alivia's heart sped up and she hated it.

"I wanted to ask you on a date." Caroline said with a smile. She could hear Alivia's heart running a mile a minute.

Alivia opened her mouth, the word 'no' just on the too of her tongue when the most unexpected answer came out.

"Yes, I'd love that." Caroline's went wide, so did Alivia's.

"A-Alright, I'll pick you up in a few hours. Wear something casual." Caroline said before pivoting and walking back to her car.

Alivia slammed her door shut and waited for her heart to calm. She didn't like this. Not one bit. She hated it.

She needed to tell Katherine. She needed Katherine here with her right now.

Alivia raced for her phone and dialed Katherine's number. The line was picked up on the second ring.

"Alivia?" Katherine's voice rang through her mind, making her smile but wince in pain in her head.

"Come over. I need you." Alivia gasped, the headache becoming stronger.

Katherine hung up the phone and raced to Alivia's house. Alivia had heard Katherine's car and had opened the door, meeting her half way and crashed into her body.

"Are you alright?! What's going on?" Katherine asked as she wrapped her arms around the human girl.

"I don't know, but I want it to stop." Alivia's voice was in a whisper and cracking.

"What do you want to stop?" Katherine asked, taking Alivia by her shoulders and making her look into Katherine's brown eyes.

"My heart from beating fast when I don't want it to, my hands getting sweat and getting nervous around her. I-I don't know what happening." Alivia gripped her head.

Katherine raised an eyebrow. "Her? Her who?"

"Caroline! I know what all these symptoms mean but I've never felt this way before! Not since they found us at your hideaway." Alivia began to let tears fall down her cheeks.

"Listen to me, alright? You're going to be okay. Let's go inside and talk about this." Alivia nodded and Katheirne lead her into the house.

By the time Katherine and Alivia had finished talking, Alivia has made Katherine stay, although she had a date with Caroline in just a few hours.

And Katheirne wasn't happy.
