0.3 - Another Try

Caroline decided to give it another try. She wanted to ask Alivia on a date. She'd liked her since she'd had comforted her when she broke up Tyler. Alivia had been there for her in every moment of sadness and that meant something to her.

It was late in the afternoon as she stood in front of the door, fiddling with her fingers. She had already knocked twice, soon to see Alivia, dressed in a tank top and sweats with her hair in a bun.

She looked flawless.

"Hey Caroline." Alivia smiled. She no longer wanted to be rude like in the past, even if it did bother her the amount of times she'd seen Caroline.

"I have a question, it'll only take a minute." Caroline promised. Alivia sighed but waited.

"Please, go on a date with me." Caroline had her hands pressed together in prayer.

Over the many times Caroline had asked her on a date, she never ever used those words exactly.

But it didn't change anything, she still saw Caroline only as a friend. She didn't feel anything for the blonde vampire. She felt bad. The amount of times she'd asked Alivia out or to hang she'd always find an excuse or just flat out say no.

"I..I'm sorry Caroline. But no." Alivia said, shredding yet again another piece of hope from Caroline's heart.

Caroline swallowed, feeling as if she was going to cry. She had tried everything. She was nice, treated her special, been there for her, made her happy. What did she do wrong?

"No, Caroline, don't." Alivia took the girl in her arms. Caroline hadn't realized she began to cry.

"I'm sorry, I just don't feel the same feelings as you do for me." Alicia admitted, trying to put it in the nicest way.

"I wish you did." Caroline sniffled.

"Look, my feelings could change. But as for now I don't feel anything more than just a friend towards you. Maybe if you didn't ask me over and over again I could get the chance to fall for you." Alivia gave the vampire a fraction of hope after hearing those words.

She left her arms and wiped her tears before smiling. "Okay, I'll back off." She turned to leave, but a hand around her wrist stopped her.

"Don't distance youself, I still want to be your friend." Alivia said before letting go and closing the door.

She wanted to like Caroline, she hated breaking her heart each time. It wasn't her fault she didn't find an interest in Caroline, she just didn't find her as someone she could love.

Plus the beautiful friendship they had, she never wanted to ruin that.

Caroline went to Elena's to talk about this afternoons events and to hopefully get some advice.

"She's right. You've got to stop trying so hard and just stay her friend for a while." Elena said.

"This is so frustrating! It would just be so much more easier if she just liked me." Caroline groaned and let her face fall into a pillow.

"Just be her friend. Do all that you've been doing and see where it takes your friendship. Just stop asking her out." Elena suggested. Caroline nodded, her head still in the pillow.

"You and me get to hang out today. No Alivia. No calling, texting, speaking or thinking about her. It's Elena and Caroline time." Elena declared as she took Caroline's phone and hid it away from her, ignoring her disagreement to the idea.

Another knock came to Alivia's door, this time it was Katherine, leather and all. She stood confidently, ready to give Alivia her offer

"I know I've been a bitch." Katheirne started, making Alivia nod knowingly.

"But you're the only person I haven't hurt and have no intention of doing. Plus your not whiney and annoying, so let's be friends." Katherine's request made Alivia laugh.

She did believe that Katherine didn't want to hurt her because she could have done that many times, she also believed she wanted to become her friend.

Alivia might regret this later, she took Katherine's hand in hers and shook it with a smile.

"Alright friend. Would you like to come in?" Katheirne nodded with a smirk and entered the house.
