0.2 - Doppëlganger Meet Up

Alivia heard voices speaking downstairs when she woke up. More like yelling. She could hear Matt's voice and a female voice that she couldn't recognize.

Skipping steps she enter the living room to see Matt yell at their drunk, messed up mother. She hadn't seen her in years and an instant fury came over her.

"Alivia, go back upstairs." Matt demanded when he saw her.

Their mother turned around with a tear-stained face and a smile toward her daughter. She was hoping her little girl would accept her in this moment.

"You've grown so much." She choked.

Alivia shook her head. She wasn't going to give in after her being out of her life for so long. It wasn't fair to her and Matt to have to live out their lives alone with no mother or father figure.

"Get Out." Alivia whispered. Their mother looked at her with a heartbroken expression.

"No, please. I don't have anywhere to go." She pleaded.

"You were gone for most of our life, no contact and you expect us to just let you back into our lives? No, not happening. You've disappointed me and Matt too much." Alivia let a single tear fall.

"I never want to see you again. Get out and never come back. Go find a manwhore to fill that hole of comfort and love you need. You won't find it here." Alivia pointed to the door, not regretting any words she had just said to the woman who gave her life.

Matt wanted to hug his sister, seeing how hard it looked for her to finally say those things to their mother.

Their mother was completely alone. The only company she had was the alcohol and one night stands. She was hoping her children would accept her and let her show them she'd changed. That wasn't the case.

She shuffled towards the door, her hand grasping the handle she looked back at her children, standing strong and showing they didn't need her anymore.

"I love you both." She opened the door and disappeared.

Alivia ran to shut and lock the door completely, then ran into the arms of her brother. The sting hug gave her comfort as she cried.

Nothing made her feel more strong than not giving into her mother. She was proud of herself, but over all it was the worse morning ever.

Alivia felt all kinds of emotions the rest of the day. It was going to take her at least a day to get back to normal.

She sulked in a booth at the Grill, sewing as her brother wanted to keep an eye on her after the incident this morning.

A familiar brunette sat on the other side and let her head head on her hand. A smirk crossed her face but faltered the tiniest bit when she saw the expression on the humans face.

"What's got you down." Katherine asked, somewhat curious. Alivia let her eyes move to look at the vampire inform to he her before looking away.

"Nothing that concerns you." Alivia sighed. Katherine pouted and sat back in her seat.

"Tell me. I don't think you've ever looked this upset before." Katheirne pressed. She wanted to heft know what was wrong with Alivia.

"My mom came for a surprise visit this morning, looking for acceptance and love. It didn't end well." Alivia stirred her coffee with tohefpohe spoon as she spoke.

The doppëlganger knew about their family problems, suddenly feeling sensitive towards her. She unsurely let her hand touch her arm.

"That sucks. At least you let her go." Katherine tried to make it better, but she knew nothing would. It was especially weird for her to say something like that.

"Yeah, I guess." Alivia pulled her arm out of Katherine's reach, feeling slight discomfort in her touch.

Katherine was never the touchy feely person, that's what confused Alivia. Why was she being so nice and concerning?

"So uh, I'm just gonna go." Alivia said as she stood from the booth, leaving her cup half filled with coffee.

"Wait, Alivia." Katherine pleaded, stopping the human from leaving.

"I, I want to be better friends with you." She admitted.

"We weren't even friends to begin wih." Alivia pointed out.

"Alright Miss. Sassy, I just mean to Wan to become friends, for some odd reason I actually like you." To Alivia that meant nothing but a trick. Knowing Katherine she wanted something.

Katheirne only wanted a friendship. She felt as if she could help her become stronger as a person and not to mention needing a little Petrova fire in her innocent life.

Alivia sighed. "Okay friend. I'll see you later." She walked out of the Grill with Katherine fighting a smile.
