0.1 - A Day Out

0.1 - A Day Out

Alivia woke with a yawn and stretched her limbs, smiling to herself as another beautiful day set in.

She instantly smelt bacon being cooked downstairs by her brother and raced down, seeing he had cooked a whole breakfast meal.

"Wow Matt, you've outdone yourself." Alivia nodded in approval before giving him a side hug and sitting down to eat.

"When do you think Caroline will be here?" Matt asked with a chuckle making his sister roll her eyes.

Caroline Forbes. Happy-go-lucky ball of sunshine and dated most of her friends. No one knows what struck the blonde's interest to suddenly go and crush on her ex's little sister, but it happened.

And annoyed the living hell out of her.

Caroline would not give up until she got some type of emotion she felt from Alivia, but it was a bit of a struggle when she didn't feel the same at all.

She'd come by everyday and suggest they do something fun, then twist it a little to make it sound like a date.

There was a knock at the door and Matt smirked at Alivia. She rolled her eyes and got up from the table and opened the door to the only person who'd ever knock at this time in the morning.

Caroline stood proudly, smiling wider when she saw Alivia's face. Her heart grew when she saw her light brown hair and blue eyes, her lips giving her a small smile.

"Morning Caroline." Alivia sighed, leaning her body against the doorway.

"Hi Alivia." Caroline was bouncing from one foot to another, hoping her offer would interest Alivia in the slightest.

"I was thinking, in a couple months we'll all be going to college and that means a chance to start over. I need new clothes and was wondering if you wanted to join me?" Caroline played with the hem of her shirt from the blue eyed girls gaze.

Alivia had to agree. It was a chance to start over, meet someone new and start fresh. No one will know who you were and nothing about you unless you told them.

"Sure." Alivia shrugged. Caroline's jaw dropped slightly before lightly jumping in excitement.

"Really?! Okay! Um, you go get dressed and ready, and I'll... I'll wait right here.!" She fumbled making Alivia laugh.

She turned and went to her room, ignoring the wiggling eyebrows of her brother to get ready.

Quickly finishing she came down the stairs with a shoulder bag on. Caroline waited patiently for Alivia at the door.

"See you later Matty." Alivia waved goodbye at her brother before closing the door and following Caroline to her car.

Caroline became extremely nervous as she began driving. Alivia stared out the window, tapping her fingers to the music with a small smile.

They reached the mall and Caroline started breathing normally. She got out of the car, rushing around to open Alivia's door. She thanked Caroline as she got out and they went inside the large building.

Caroline pulled Alivia to her favourite store and were greeted by a sales woman.

"We need two a dressing room reserved for us." She compelled. The saleswoman got to it as the girls began picking out clothes.

Caroline forced Alivia to go first with the cloths she had chosen and waited outside to judge.

Caroline had become more comfortable in this situation. Until Alivia came out from the room. She wore a simple purple dress that was tight from the waist up, stopping at her knees.

Alivia spread her arms put and gave a small turn, awaiting Caroline's response.

"How's it look?" She asked the blonde.

Caroline was speechless, like most times she was around the human girl.

"Buy it. You look great." Caroline sputtered. Alivia smiled before disappearing into the dressing room.

More outfits later and Alivia was back in her flannel, jeans shorts and white t-shirt, awaiting Caroline's first outfit.

The vampire came out in an ocean blue summer dress. Complimenting her eyes that shone brightly at Alivia she stood silent.

"That looks perfect." Alivia admitted. Caroline clapped with a smile and returned to the changing room.

Alivia was actually having fun with Caroline, even if she knew about the crush Caroline had on her she didn't mind hanging out with her.

The day ended rather quickly and Caroline took Alivia to the Grill for dinner. Alivia made sure it wasn't actually date, just a dinner with actually friend.

Unfortunately, Matt was the one serving them actually kept bugging Alivia. As they ate, Alivia couldn't help but feel someone's eyes on her. No just Caroline's or Matt's, someone else.

Ignoring the weird feeling she finished her meal and paid for her part, telling Caroline she'd walk home and thanked her for the wonderful day.

Caroline felt accomplished. She finally got Alivia to spend time with her, that's all she wanted. Hopefully it would happen again.

Alivia walked home, hands in her pockets and eyes wandering. Someone bumped her shoulder, making her stumble slightly.

"Oops, sorry." A female voice apologized.

Alivia turned to see Katherine Pierce. She could easily tell the difference between her and Elena with the curly hair, posture and attitude showing on her face.

"It's fine." She said bluntly and turned, walking away.

Katherine was never Alivia's favourite person. She'd hurt Matt many times, her friends multiple times yet never injured Alivia. She had many opportunities to hurt her instead of her friends, but chose against it.

Alivia had actually never been hurt by any supernatural creature, not physhically but emotional in a big way.

Making it home she simply got changed and sat in her bed, ready for a small marathon of shows and movies.
