3rd Person POV

Somewhere in the Emerald Forest, there are five young kids, they were once lab experiments to create monsters to be used as weapons of destruction. But the kids proved too uncontrollable and one boy broke free of his restraints and broke himself and the other boys out and now leads them through the forest as best as he can. However, the boys know next to nothing of the outside world and so got lost and one of them is hurt.

Grimlock: Snarl, how Sludge?

Snarl: He's hanging in there, but without proper help I don't know if he'll make it.

Slag: Maybe we should just leave him, Sludge is just slowing us down.

Grimlock: We are not leaving anyone behind, Slag!

Swoop: Look, fighting isn't going to help anyone.

Grimlock: *deep breath* You're right. Let's find somewhere so Sludge can rest.

Sludge: Sludge ok... let's keep moving.

Grimlock: You need help, now. *looks around* Let's set up near that cave.

The four kids help their injured friend to the mouth of the cave and Grimlock gets a fire going thanks to his semblance. Grimlock then looks over Sludge and comes to a decision.

Grimlock: You all stay here and keep Sludge safe. Grimlock go find help.

Slag: Are you crazy, we can't trust anyone out here.

Grimlock: We can't take care of Sludge, we need help. Stay here, stay safe. Grimlock be back soon, promise.

Grimlock leaves and wanders into the forest, using his superior sense of smell, Grimlock tries to sniff for any humans nearby. He catches a scent, four scents and heads to the smell's point of origin.

Meanwhile, Team RWBY are heading back to Beacon after a day of training and are on the outskirts of the forest when they hear bushes rustling. Suspecting it might be a Grimm, the girls ready their weapons, until a small boy in torn clothes appears from the bushes. Ruby immediately put her weapon away and slowly walks towards this boy, he can't be older than 10. The boy sees Ruby walking towards him and gets defensive, Ruby stops.

Ruby: Hey there, what doing out here all by yourself?

????: .....

Ruby: It's ok. My name is Ruby. *boy still doesn't say anything* What's your name?

????: ....Name?

Ruby: Yeah. What do people call you?

Grimlock: ..... Me, Grimlock.

Ruby: I like that name. *boy looks behind her* Oh, these are my friends. *gestures to put weapons away* That's Weiss, Blake and my sister Yang. What are you doing out here by yourself?

Grimlock: Me looking for- *roar in the distance*

      Grimlock suddenly dashes back into the forest.

Ruby: Hey wait! *looks to her team* Let's go.

Blake: We've got your back, Ruby.

     Team RWBY dashes off after Grimlock, and it isn't long until they catch up with him. The group then sees a big Grimm beating down dinosaurs! Grimlock tries to run into the fight but Ruby grabs him to stop him.

Ruby: No, Grimlock it's too dangerous!

Grimlock: My brothers need me!

     Grimlock's eyes turn red as he breaks free from Ruby's grip and the team see him turn into a Tyrannosaurus rex. As the last dinosaur, a triceratops, gets tossed into the side of the cliff, Grimlock comes crashing out of the bushes and roars at the Grimm.

The two monsters now face off and roar at eachother a couple of times to intimidate eachother. Grimlock makes the first attack and head bashes the Grimm and then bites down on the Grimm's neck. Ruby then feels a tap on her shoulder and sees Blake pointing to the mouth of the cave, she looks and sees three kids all younger than Grimlock and one of them looks really hurt.

Blake: Do you think Grimlock knows these kids?

Ruby: I believe so.

     Ruby then looks at the other dinosaur as it transforms into a kid but still lays on the ground unconscious. Ruby then looks back at Grimlock's fight and the Grimm is starting to gain the upper hand and pushes Grimlock to the ground.

Ruby: Weiss, take the others and try to get to the kids. Keep them safe.

Weiss: What are you going to do?

     Ruby simply readies Crescent Rose and rushes to the Grimm before it can kill Grimlock and slices at it's face. This distracts the Grimm long enough for Grimlock to get back onto his feet and bites down on the Grimm, Ruby jumped onto Grimlock's back as he pushed the Grimm into the cliff face. He then bites down on it's head and drags it and slams the Grimm into a number of trees. Ruby jumped back onto the Grimm's back slices a few times before being thrown off by the Grimm. Grimlock was wuick to distract the Grimm until a cluster of rose petals dashed passed him and materialized into Ruby and she shot the Grimm in the eye. Grimlock then shoves the Grimm into the cliffside again and grabs it's head and drags it to the ground. As the Grimm slowly recovers, Ruby dashes back in and attack the Grimm's face, Grimlock then clamped his jaws on it's neck again. The Grimm broke free and tossed Ruby aside, but not before Grimlock uses his body to shove it to the ground. Ruby recovers to see the Grimm stand up and see it and Grimlock charge eachother. Grimlock gets under the Grimm tosses it behind him, he then grabs the Grimm by the leg and throws it through some more trees. Grimlock then approached the Grimm and pinned it to the ground as he clamped his jaws on it's head. Grimlock then pulls hard and tears the Grimm's head clean off and tosses it away. The Grimm turns to ash and Grimlock roars in victory, he then turns to Ruby, who has rejoined him on the field. Grimlock then looks at the cave and sees Sludge back on his feet with Yang's help. Grimlock looks back at Ruby as she sheathes her weapon.

Ruby: It's okay. We can help you.

     Ruby then tries to reach out to Grimlock and touch him, Grimlock senses her hesitation and growls a little. Ruby pulls her hand back a little and takes a deep breath and closes her eyes and fully stretches out her arm and waits. Seeing this Grimlock stops growling and looks at this woman, she didn't have to help him, but she did anyway, so he gently touches his snout to her hand.

Ruby looks at Grimlock and relaxes. Grimlock then walks away a little and transforms back into a kid, the kid then drops to his knee but Ruby was there to grab him before he collapsed.

Grimlock: Help brothers... please?

Ruby: Of course. We will take care of you, I promise.

     Grimlock saw the honesty in Ruby's silver eyes and convinced his brothers to trust the adults, for now. The team get the boys back to Beacon and get them to the nurse's office and the boys are treated. Ruby is sitting with Grimlock next to his bed.

Ruby: I'm glad you're all safe.

Grimlock: We've been on the run for a while.

Ruby: Well, the running stops now.

     Ruby stood up and kissed Grimlock's forhead, this made the kid blush as Ruby then smiled and said.

Ruby: Try and get some sleep. I'll be back in the morning. Goodnight Grimlock.

Grimlock: Goodnight.

     Ruby walks out and closes the door after shooting Grimlock one more smile. Grimlock sits in his bed and thinks about how nice Ruby's been, until-

Slag: *groans* Come on, let's go while their not looking.

Swoop: Slag?

Slag: Look adults can't be trusted. We can only look after ourselves, they'll hurt us like all the others before them.

Snarl: Those were the white coats, these adults are different.

Slag: Don't tell me you all bought that 'we'll look after you' schpeel?!

Grimlock: I do.

Slag: What?! You of all people are going to trust these people!

Grimlock: *stands from his bed* Yes, they fought to protect us when they didn't have to, anyone willing to do that is someone I believe we can trust.

Sludge: Sludge agree. Hehe.

Snarl: As do I.

Swoop: I'm in.

Grimlock: Look Slag, just give them a chance. If you still don't trust them by then, then you can leave. Alone.

Slag: Fine. I'll follow your lead, for now.

Grimlock: Get some sleep everyone.

      Everyone returned to their bed and went to sleep, Grimlock pulled a blanket over Swoop. He returned to his bed and fell asleep anxious for what the world has in store for them.
