Grimlock POV

Grimlock groans as me wake up in pain, but me manage to surpress the pain, get up and look around.

Wheelie: Rise and shine, Grimlock.

Grimlock: How long me out?

Wheelie: 7 hours.

Grimlock: Okay, *stretches* we need to rejoin the adults and help in any way we can.

Wheelie: I've been trying to tap into Atlas' comm link system to try and find out their movemnets, but without Brains around, it's a slow process.

Grimlock: Do Wheelie know where everyone is?

Wheelie: Yeah, I can track them. *checks scanners* It seems Ruby and her group have made it to the military base in Atlas. Pietro and Maria are set up at Amity waiting for the green light from Ruby's crew. And Yang's group, they're headed towards the tundra.

Grimlock: Dinobots! Wake up!

The rest of the kids rouse themselves and start to yawn and stretch.

Slam: *grunts* ?

Grimlock: We need to get moving. The adults need our help.

Swoop: Mommy didn't call for us.

Grimlock: We go, now!

Swoop held his hands up in defense.

Grimlock: *exhale* Sorry.

Slash: Where are we going, big brother?

Grimlock: Yang's group is heading out into the tundra. Slag and Slash will catch up the quickest.

Slag: Up for a little hike?

Slash: Let's do it.

Joanna: And what do you think you kids are doing?

Grimlock: We help our family, unless you wanna try and stop us. *low growl*

Joanna: ..... No.

Grimlock: Swoop go to Amity and get that thing in the air, even if you have to carry it.

Swoop: I love a good challenge!

Grimlock: Sludge, Snarl, Slam, we go to Atlas.

Snarl: How?

Grimlock: The direct path.

Ruby POV

I just got out of the pneumatic tube and am catching my breath from the unorthodox form of transport. Weiss is still a little annoyed with the surprise trip from Nora and is holding her ear like a child.

Nora: Ow, ow, ow! Come on, that was a once in a lifetime experience!

Weiss finally let's her go. Nora's ear turns red before she rubs it.

Nora: Ow.

The last one comes up and Blake stumbles out with her hair in a mess.

Blake: Good. Because I never want to do that again.

I stand up straight as Blake fixes her hair, then we all move forward.

May: Alright, robo-girl, you're up. Which way?

Penny uses her robotic eyes to scan the area ahead.

Penny: *points in various directions as she says them* We'll cross the bridge, then go left, straight, right, straight, left, up, up, right, straight, right, right, straight, left, left.

Everyone else looks at her a bit dumbfounded, I, however, have a smug expression.

Penny: And my name... is Penny.

Ruby: *crosses arms and smiling slyly at May* Heh.

May: Tsk...

May activates her Semblance which creates a dome of invisibility on whoever is inside it. We make it to an elevator and start riding it up. Soon the door opens and we all back away cautiously as two soldiers board the elevator. Thanks to May's Semblance, the soldiers cannot see us and they talk casually amongst themselves.

Soldier 1: I don't even think the squad captain knows what's going on up there. They can't get close to that storm without getting shocked right out of the sky.

Soldier 2: It's creepy, all those Grimm just... waiting. Worse than if they attacked....

Soldier 1: Hey, don't say that! You'll jinx us.

Penny motions for us to follow her, we all sneak past the soldiers and out the elevator without them noticing. But not before Nora mischievously presses all the buttons on the elevator. The first soldier glances at the elevator panel but then does a double take before the door closes.

Soldier 1: Huh?

We make it down the wide corridor towards a locked door with "03" in large print on it. Penny stops by a nearby control panel and extends her index finger. The tip swivels out to reveal a connector plug, I am actually geeking out a little bit.

Ruby: Cool.

Penny interfaces with the control panel, and the handprint scanner flashes green. A hologram of Pietro's credentials pops up and the computer say.

Computer: Welcome back, Doctor Poledina.

The door opens with a whoosh, and we all step inside.

May: Alright, where to next, Penny?

Penny: Right through Central Command!

A door to our right opens to reveal a bustling workplace filled with digital workstations, holographic maps, and Atlesian officials and clerks.

Weiss: Of course.

May: I can't maneuver us through all that.

Penny: Don't worry, Ruby is capable of traveling at an extreme velocity from one point to another by breaking herself down to her molecular components, thus negating her mass and then reassembling them at the destination, theoretically making it possible for her to transport all of us in the same way, as mass no longer matters.

Even though Penny showed a cartoonish infograph of what she was saying, I still didn't get what she was saying.

Ruby: I, uh, what?

Penny: You can use your Semblance on all of us.

The infograph Penny was using disappears in a burst of stars but I am still stunned, until Blake said

Blake: *amused* Did... Penny just figure that out before you did?

Ruby: Blake, she knew you were a Faunus before I did!

3rd Person POV

Back below Mantle, Grimlock, Sludge, Snarl and Slam have a clear shot to Atlas, but there's still one question.

Snarl: How is this spot supposed to get us to Atlas, there's nothing here.

Grimlock: You'll see. You might want to hang on.

Snarl: Hang on to what?

Grimlock suddenly grabbed all three boys and jumps as hard as he can, launching them into the air.

Snarl: AHHHH!

Slam: *FRIGHTENED GRUNT*

Sludge: WOO HOO!

Grimlock managed to land at the edge of Atlas.

Sludge: Let's do that again.

Snarl goes to see Sludge go back to the edge of the cliff, he quickly grabs Sludge by his shirt and pulls him back.

Snarl: No, no, nonono...! *quietly* No.

Sludge: Aw.

Slam: *grunts* ?

Grimlock: *sniff* *sniff* *sniff* Yeah, Grimlock got them. This way.

Elsewhere in the complex, General Ironwood meets with Arthur Watts. He enters the room, adjusting his mechanical left arm and straightening his tie.

Ironwood: Apologies for the delay, today has been... busy. Have you made any progress?

He circles around a workstation to where Watts is working. A revolving wireframe of Penny and Grimlock are displayed and seperate screens, Penny's screen also has a video feed of her vs Cinder, Grimlock's has a video feed of his fight against Predaking. Lines of code scroll across the screens as he types.

Ironwood: I'd hate for us to try and motivate you... Again.

The general claps his hands on Watt's shoulders in a threatening gesture, causing the latter's eyes to widen in surprise, pausing his work momentarily.

Watts: Given what you want me to do and who we're after, I've got all the motivation I need. Sadly, it doesn't make taking down Pietro's magical science project any less cumbersome. And the Dinobot, well, that's an even more difficult endeavor.

Ironwood releases his grip on Watt's shoulders as he continues typing.

Ironwood: You told me you worked closely on that project.

Watts: Yes, but it was still concieved and executed by an alien robot using science beyond my understanding. Recreating such a project will be more diffcult than anything I've ever done.

Ironwood: Oh, I trust you'll come up with something.

Watts: Yes, the trust is palpable.

A wide shot reveals four Atlesian soldiers standing in a firing stance, the guns leveled at Watts. A red security alert pops up on Watts' screen, and he pulls up a map of the military complex.

Watts: Speaking of the man, are you aware that dear Dr. Polendina is gallivanting around your military compound?

Ironwood leans down to inspect the screen. A window with text reading "DR. POLENDINA'S CREDENTIALS IN USE" can be seen.

Watts: Unless, or course, someone else is using his credentials.

The general lets out a frustrated growl.

Ruby POV

Before we can move, a broadcast can be heard on the intercoms.

Ironwood: A security threat has been detected in the compund, status alert level 3: red. Lockdown initiated. Authorization granted to handle ANY threats with lethal force. Be advised, Alien terroists may be in the area. Orders to shoot on sight granted.

This news caused dismay in the group as red lights turn on and sirens are sounded.

Weiss: You've got be kidding!

Penny: The pneumatic tubes have been closed off.

Blake: We're trapped.

May: We passed a hangar, I can hijack an airship and get us off this floating rock.

Penny: Wait, we can still suceed. We are so close.

Pyrrha: Hmm...

Pyrrha looks thoughtful, then snaps her fingers as if she got an idea.

So using May's Semblance, the group remains invisible until a clerk carrying a coffee mug walks by. May sticks out her foot and trips him. He loses his grip on his mug, and the coffee spills all over a workstation, causing it to spit sparks of electricity. It's operator's lap is also drenched, and he cries out in pain.

Operator: Read the sign, Bill! Read the sign!

The Operator runs out of the room bellowing in pain and leaving the door open behind him, allowing me time to use my Semblance to carry Weiss, Blake, Nora, Pyrrha, and Penny past everyone undetected. When I reform in a stairwell striking a pose, I look around at the others and Penny and Nora are in awe, Pyrrha and Weiss smile while Blake holds onto the wall with a terrified expression.

Blake: Another thing I don't ever want to do again.

We make our way across a raised hallway in a cavernous, deserted chamber. At the end of the hallway is a heavily electrified door.

Penny: Please, stand back.

We all do so and ready our weapons as Penny depowers the door and opens it. As the overhead lights come on, a secluded room filled with terminals is revealed. Ironwood's terminal sits at the back wall.

Brains: *muffled* Come on! Let me out of this bag! It's cramped in here!

I guess I forgot to mention that I had been carrying a backpack with Brains inside to help hack into the terminal. I set the bag down and open it, Brains hops out and starts trying to kick me, which didn't hurt.

Brains: That was for leaving a genius in that stinky bag!

Ruby: You just blend in so well, I forgot you were in there. Robots in disguise, right?

Brains: .... Fine, let's get this show on the road.

We all walk and the first thing I notice is...

Ruby: Where is everyone?

Penny: This is a higly classified area.

The group make their way to Ironwood's terminal, the door closes and electrifies again. Nora stopped and regarded it before moving on. Brains hops up onto the terminal and transforms into his laptop mode and uses a connecting plug of his own to, well, connect to the terminal.

Brains: Polendina? Connected and ready to give green light for Amity. *to us* This should only take a few minutes.

Ruby: Right.

3rd Person POV

Behind Ruby and Penny, the others idle by. Blake swivels around a few times in an office chair.

Blake: I hope the others are okay. I've never seen Ruby and Yang fight like this.

Weiss: Don't worry. They're sisters. Sometimes siblings just have very different ideas about what's right.

Nora: Yeah, they'll be fine. Jaune's a great leader, Oscar's grown a ton and Yang is more than capable of protecting them all in a fight.

Blake, Weiss and Pyrrha wait for her to continue. When she doesn't, Weiss and Blake tilt their heads in puzzlement.

Nora: Oh, and of course Ren is-- um...

Nora's usual happy-go-lucky composure breaks, and she adverts her eyes.

Nora: I don't know what he is. Every time I think the two of us are making progress, he... *sighs* We've been together our whole lives but I feel I understand him less now than ever. And I don't know if that's his fault or mine.

Pyrrha places a hand on Nora's shoulder as she speaks.

Pyrrha: When you've been at someone's side for so long, after a while they become a part of you. But that's just it, they're only a part of you. Don't forget about the rest.

Nora let's out a mirthless chuckle.

Nora: I don't actually know who I am... without Ren. Pretty sad, huh?

Pyrrha: Not really, I felt that way after Beacon fell, *looks down a little* when I failed, but I realized that was only part of my strength, the rest came from Jaune, Ren... and you.

Nora looks at Pyrrha as she lifts her gaze back to hers, Nora then couldn't help it and hugged Pyrrha as she broke down crying. Pyrrha returned the hug and rubbed her back, she let a tear fall from her eyes.

Pyrrha: Take this opportunity to find out what part you are. Something only Nora can do.

Nora: *sniffles* Like what? Be strong and hit stuff?

Just then some loud keystrokes are heard and the girls rejoin Ruby, Penny and Brains at Ironwood's terminal. As Brains talks, Weiss looks to Ruby for an explanation, but she only shrugs in response.

Brains: Just have to... There! Downloading the cloned imprint now. When Penny gets me to Amity, Pietro can run the launch sequence. Amity's computer will try to connect to the general's terminal but get me instead.

Penny: And after the launch, I'll return to help you all with the evacuation.

Pietro is then heard through everyone's earpiece.

Pietro: *coughs* About that, Penny. When Amity goes up, I think you should be on it, with Maria, Swoop and I.

Penny's cheerful expression is replaced by an anxious one. The rest of the girls trade conflicted looks.

Weiss: Wait, Dr., did you say Swoop is with you.

Pietro: Yes, he just arrived moments ago.

Weiss: Swoop, are you feeling okay?

Swoop: Yup, all rested up and ready to rumble!

Blake: Where are the others?

Swoop: Slag and Slash went after Yang's group. The rest should be close to you guys.

Ruby: How's Grimlock?

Swoop: Honestly, I fear he's getting worse. His body isn't healing the way it's supposed to, but we don't have any idea what's causing it.

Ruby: Let's go. We need to find Grimlock and the others and find a safe place to lay low.

Penny: But, you guys need me, right?

Ruby thinks on it before answering.

Ruby: I try to keep my son safe and guide his actions, but I know I can't control him. Penny should have that same choice and freedom.

Pietro: But-

Penny: I want to do what I'm supposed to do, and that's to help and protect people, especially those I love.

It's several seconds before Pietro answers.

Pietro: I guess I need to stop being such a worry wart then.

Penny: I will help get Amity launched, but I still have a duty to perform.

Pyrrha: Then let's not waste any more time.

Agreed, Ruby picks up Brains and the girls head to the door, Penny once again deactivates the electrcity and the door opens. To everyone's surprise, the door opens to reveal the Ace Ops standing in their way.

Harriet: Hello, kids. Time to come home now, Penny.

Everyone draws their weapons, Brains hops into Ruby's backpack when she draws hers.

Weiss: So, your first time losing to us wasn't enough?

Marrow: We were holding back!

Pyrrha: *sarcastic* Sure you were.

Vine: We have all said some things we regret, but please, hear me out. I know you thought you were doing the right thing when you left, but Salem is here now. Things have changed.

Vine slowly steps forward to reason with them. With the exception of Penny, all the girls stare him down resolutely.

Penny: If General Ironwood plans to leave Mantle behind nothing has changed.

Vine: *sighs* I thought you were supposed to protect people, not hurt them.

Penny: I would never hurt anyone.

Ruby: If you were there you'd know what happened.

Harriet: Yeah, your psychopath of a son couldn't keep his emotions in check and that allowed Cinder to steal the Maiden Powers. Now Salem has what she needs to take the Staff.

Ruby: It wasn't his fault, Grimlock is sick, something made him that way.

Harriet: One more word and I'm throwing you in a jail cell right next to your uncle.

Ruby starts forward, but Penny holds her back, balling up her fists.

Penny: Leave. Her. Alone.

Harriet: And what are you gonna do about it, tin can?

Before anyone can do anything else, loud muffled voices are heard from beyond the walls.

Sludge: *muffled* Grimlock! Sludge ready!

Slam: *loud muffled grunts*

Sludge: *muffled* Oh! Sorry!

Snarl: *muffled* Sludge! Shut up!

Grimlock: *muffled annoyed groan* Nevermind, just go!

Suddenly, Grimlock smashes through the ceiling, in human form, and lands in a kneeling position with his sword stabbed into the ground, Grimlock pulls his sword out as he stands. Slam then smashes through the left wall and lands on the walkway, also in human form. In addition to Slam wearing thick metal armor, he also wields two armored shotgun gauntlets, a bit like Yang's. Snarl then smashes through the right wall, in human form and also heavily armored, he wields a machine gun a little like the Needler from Halo.

Without hesitation, the three boys open fire on the Ace Ops, the group scatters and Vine goes after Snarl with his Aura infused arms. Snarl braces with his left arm and lets Vine grab him, but he remains grounded and pulled hard to reel in Vine, while he does this, Snarl converts his gun into it's spiked mace form, spun around to the right and clotheslined Vine in the face sending him careening down the walkway.

Elm decided to charge Slam and swings her hammer in a over head motion activating the rocket boosters on the back, Slam activated his Semblance and raised his arms above his head and manages to block the hammer, but it causes a big cloud of dust making Slam impossible to see.

Grimlock is taking on Marrow and Harriet, he's changed his sword into it's shield form to block Marrow's boomerang weapon. Harriet presses a handheld activation button and the terminal room closes and the electric field activates, locking the adults inside, before she rushes in and Grimlock blocks her barrage of punches with his shield. Grimlock was sent skidding back on the last punch.

Marrow: Stay!

Marrow stopped Grimlock in his tracks, but as Harriet starts to arrogantly walk towards him with a pair of bolas, a fiery red aura flares up around Grimlock and his eyes turn red.

From behind the door, Ruby and the others start to worry.

Pyrrha: Four vs three?

Ruby: They're Dinobots, I'm sure they can hold them off for a few minutes.

Weiss: Let me try something.

Back on the walkway, Grimlock let loose his fire breath at the floor causing it to explode outwards, burning Harriet, and breaking Marrow's concentration. Grimlock leaps up towards Marrow and slammed the broadside of his sword on his head, he then grabs him by his head and tosses Marrow towards Vine.

Elm was a little distracted by Marrow's flying body, she doesn't notice Slam deflect her hammer, then ram his head into her gut, sending her stumbling back a few feet. Slam then ran at her and recoiled low to the ground before uppercutting Elm in her jaw, sending her into the air.

Back behind the door, Weiss was trying to use her Arma Gigas to attack the electricity blocking the wall, but the electricity was too fatal and destroyed it upon impact. Nora was getting frustrated about their situation, she moves closer to the electrified door.

Nora: We have to get out of here... Be strong--

She brandishes her hammer, Magnhild.

Nora: And hit stuff.

Weiss: Nora! Wait!

Nora jams her hammer into the door's power supply, siphoning off the electricity. She begins to scream from the strain of channeling so much power. Pink streaks appear on her arm, chest, and neck, and her hair starts to stand up on end. Still bellowing, she lets loose on the door with her hammer, disappearing in the ensuing explosion of black smoke.

The resulting explosion caused everyone to duck from the debris. As the Dinobots recover first, Nora is seen in the doorway, clutching her hammer and breathing heavily, still crackling with pink electricity.

Nora: That was pretty awesome.

Nora's Aura shimmers and breaks. She faints, her upper body covered with electirical scars.

Pyrrha: Nora!

Slam: *concerned grunt*

Grimlock: Now Sludge!

Suddenly, the roof caves in and Sludge's robot form is seen peering through. Grimlock points to Ruby's group and orders.

Grimlock: Get them out of here!

Sludge sees the adults and reaches in with his open right hand.

Sludge: Let's go!

Blake: Great timing, Sweety.

Weiss and Blake hop on first then take Nora from Ruby's arms. Pyrrha and Penny get in Sludge's hand next.

Grimlock: Snarl, Slam, you too. Get on!

Snarl and Slam get onto Sludge's hand as well.

Harriet is seen getting back up and shakes her head before she looks and sees everyone escaping.

Harriet: No you don't, you bastards!

Before Grimlock can react, Harriet uses her Semblance to rush at Ruby and tackles her off the walkway.

Weiss/Blake/Penny: Ruby!

Grimlock: Sludge, take who you have and go!

Without another word Grimlock jumps off the walkway and dives after Harriet and Ruby.
