3rd Person POV

Shockwave has kept Grimlock under heavy sedation for months, and even while running more experiments on him, Grimlock is still kept barely conscious.

Shockwave: Hmm, I have an idea but it will take some time. *turns to Insecticon* No one is to enter except me.

The Insecticon nods in response and stand guard over Grimlock's test cage. Cinder meanwhile overheard this and wanted so badly to get back at Ruby by killing Grimlock and rub it in her face and watch it destroy her, but how?

Ruby POV

We have been traveling to Mistral for a while now, and since then, we've been attacked by a crazy scorpion that ended up poisoning Uncle Qrow, we've learned that someone named Salem was really the one behind the Fall of Beacon and Cinder was just her puppet. I have also suspected her to be responsible for torturing and experimenting on Grimlock and the other Dinobots. But, I can't think about that now, because we've come under attack by a Nucklevee Grimm, the one that killed Ren's parent and destroyes his home. After a short pep talk from Nora we regroup and I come up with a plan.

Ruby: Ren. *Ren looks at me* Jaune and I can take care of it's arms.

Nora: I'll take care of the horse.

Ren: And I'll take care of the rest.

Nora jumps to the roof of the tallest building she can find while I shoot at this thing to get it to swing an arm at me, finally it does and I stab Crescent Rose and stick the Grimm's arm to the ground. Suddenly, a familiar looking spear stabs the horse in the left shoulder and as the Grimm responds and throws an arm at Jaune, Pyrrha comes charging in and pins it with her shield.

Pyrrha: Now Jaune!

Jaune wastes no time and stabs his greatsword through this things other arm.

Ren: Nora!

Nora returns to reality and falls towards the Grimm and slams her hammer as hard as she can into the horse's head, immobilizing the Grimm, permanently. Ren approaches the Grimm with a knife his dad gave him and proceeds to cut off first the Grimm's arms, the abdomen, then-

Ren: For myself. *slices off Grimm's head*

    The Grimm is finally defeated and turns to ash, Nora tackles Ren in excitment as everyone recovers.

Jaune: Pyrrha?

Pyrrha: *nervous* Hi guys.

After some silence from all of us.

Pyrrha: I'm, sorry. I'm sorry that I left you all and I-

Nora and I tackle Pyrrha in a hug, Ren too joins in the group hug, Jaune then approaches and says.

Jaune: We're just glad you're back.

Jaune then makes this a real group hug, after we pull away, I remember we had to hide Qrow and I run to check on him. Apparently, Pyrrha had called in a Mistral Airship that just arrived and started flying us over the mountain.

Ruby: *worried* What if we don't make it in time?

Jaune: Ruby.

I look and see the city of Mistral laid out against the mountain side, we were so close.

Ruby: *relieved* We made it, Uncle Qrow.

Pyrrha was abke to get us into a motel while Qrow recovered, I went to the room to check on him and set Crescent Rose on the other bed in the room. I see a pad of paper on the desk and decide to write to Yang.

Ruby: Hey Sis,

I hope my letters have been reaching you and dad. Handwritten stuff has never been super reliable, but it's all we've got these days. Anyways, in case you haven't been getting them, I want to say I'm sorry for leavingbthe way I did. I know you said it was a reckless idea, and after everything we've been through, I can say that you were right. It's been hard, on all of us, and I'm not just talking about the monsters we've faced. Every step took us further and further away from the things we knew and every morning we'd wake and wonder if just over the next horizon would be something good, or something terrible. It's scary, not knowing what's going to happen next, and the things we do know now, just how bad things can get, almost makes it all worse. You told me once that bad things just happen, you were angry when you said it and I didn't want to listen. But you were right, bad things do happen, all the time, everyday. Which is why I'm out here, to do what I can, wherever I can, and hopefully do some good. We've all lost something, and I've seen what loss can do to people, but if we gave up everytime we lost, then we'd never be able to move forward. We'd never get the chance to see what beautiful things the future has waiting for us. We'd never have the strength to change, whether it's ourselves or the world around us. We'd never be there for people who might've been lost without us, just like when we took in our children. I know their out there somewhere, fighting to reunite with us just as much as we want to reunite with them, so we can be a family again. This is what we were training for Yang, to become Huntresses, to be the ones to stand up and be the ones to do something about all the bad in the world. Because there are plenty of people out there still lost, and those still who will do everything they can to gain from their sorrow. Believe me when I say, I know it can feel impossible, that everyday is a struggle against some impossible monster that we can never hope to defeat. But we have to try, if not for ourselves then for the people we haven't lost yet. I miss you so much, I miss Weiss, Blake and all the kids too, but I think you'd all be proud to know I've made it to Mistral, all of us did, we even ran into Uncle Qrow and Pyrrha along the way. Qrow's going to take us to see Professor Lionheart, the Headmaster of Haven Academy, and he told us some things you're gonna want to hear, things I can't trust will make it to you in this letter. But maybe, if you joined us, he could tell you himself, with Beacon gone they'll need Dad at Signal more than ever, and I know you need to focus on yourself before I can expect you to come out here, but it sure would be great to get Team RWBY and the Dinokids back together. P.S: I'll leave the address for where we'll be staying. I truly believe that things are finally looking up for us.

I wipe away a tear as I finish and then see how everyone else is doing, and we catch up with Pyrrha as she's been trying to deal with the Fall of Beacon too.

3rd Person POV

In the other parts of the world, Yang has trained and worked up enough confidance, even painting her prosthetic arm, that she is now in Anima and searching for Ruby, when she gets an idea.

Having overcome her fear and grief, Blake has decided to fight back to take back the White Fang and stop Adam Taurus from destroying Haven Academy.

Weiss has also managed to escape her father's imprisonment and even though the Atlas continent borders are closed, she has managed to board a cargo ship and try to smuggle herself to Mistral as well.

Back in Salem's realm, in Grimlock's holding cell, he is once again restrained by really heavy chains that change with whatever mode he turns into, supposedly unbreakable, but then Cinder kills the Insecticon guard and takes Grimlock off the sedative. Grimlock slowly opens his eyes as the sedative wears off.

Cinder: I want you conscious when I kill you, so I can tell your 'mother' that I was the last thing you saw before you died by my hands, and when I eagerly watch this destroy her, I will send her after you into the afterlife. *readies a fireball* Any last words?

Cinder underestimated how fast the sedative wore off because when the fireball appeared in her hand, something triggered in Grimlock and he managed to reach forward and grab Cinder, slap her against the wall while he transforms into Robot mode and says-

Grimlock: Grimlock SMASH!

Grimlock throws Cinder hard into a computer console and the restraints power down, allowing Grimlock to break them with little effort, he then roars at the top of his voice modulator, heh, and breaks open his cell door.

Grimlock: Find Dinobots. Escape. Find, Mom.

Grimlock starts down the hallway to find his fellow Dinobots, ready smash anything that gets in his way!
