Ruby POV

I am back in my team dorm after visiting Grimlock and Weiss asks a question I knew was coming.

Weiss: So, what are we going to do with those boys?

Blake: I mean the nurses office can take care of them until they're healed but then what?

Yang: Yeah, I actually like those kids, I don't want to see them in a orphanage.

Ruby: Then they won't go to one.

Weiss: What are talking about Ruby?

Ruby: We'll take them in and care for them. They seem to trust us a little bit and from their reaction to the Grimm, they know next to nothing about the outside world. They're going to need us, whether we like it or not.

Yang: That's true. We may be the only ones willing to try.

Weiss: *deep breath* Okay. So long as everyone agrees.

Blake: Let's do it.

Ruby: Oh good, cause I kinda already decided I would take in Grimlock. Heheh. *blushes in embarrassment*

Weiss: Of course you have.

Yang: Well, I can take Slag. I think we'll get along great.

Weiss: *sarcastic* Two hot-heads with a temper, that sounds great.

Yang: Exa- Hey!

Weiss: My point exactly.

Ruby: What about you Blake?

Blake: I really liked Sludge. He was injured, yes, but he was still so very friendly. *blushes* Plus on our way back he called me Mommy.

Yang/Ruby: Aww!

Yang: That's so cute, Blake. Really.

Blake: *blushes harder* Heheh.

Weiss: Well then, I guess that leaves me with Swoop and Snarl.

Ruby: Weiss, are you sure you can handle two at once?

Yang: We can ask team JNPR to take one in?

Weiss: Nope, I will raise them both, and that is final.

Ruby: Okay? Well, it's the weekend, we should spend as much time with them as we can till we introduce them to school life.

Weiss: Obviously.

With that we all went to bed and I was honestly really excited to tell Grimlock that he would be staying with me. I just hope he'll be okay with the Huntsman's life, but one thing is sure, I will keep Grimlock safe or die trying.

Timeskip Next Morning

3rd Person POV

Grimlock wakes up the next morning, sits up and yawns as he looks around and remembered what happened last night. Just then he heard the door open and a nurse walks in and Grimlock gets defensive of his still sleeping brothers.

Nurse: It's okay. I just need to check on Sludge's injuries.

Grimlock: *after a moment of silence* Grimlock watching. *growls*

The nurse made sure that Grimlock could see what she was doing so he didn't lash out at her. The nurse started to sweat a little as she pulled out a needle to get a blood sample.

Grimlock: What nurse need needle for?

Nurse: I need to check his blood for infection make sure he isn't going to get sick.

Grimlock: *after a moment* One sample?

Nurse: *nods* One sample.

Grimlock: *deep breath* Okay.

The nurse proceeds to take the blood sample without waking Sludge and she thanks Grimlock for his patience. A little while later and the other boys are starting to rouse themselves.

Snarl: *yawns* That was best night of sleep I've ever had.

Swoop: Me too. It felt good to be in a bed.

Sludge: Sludge, sleep good.

Slag: It was alright.

Just then there is a knock on the door and Ruby enters the room, Grimlock wasn't as defensive as he was when the nurse came in.

Ruby: Good morning, boys.

Boys: Hello.

Ruby: We brought you some breakfast, I hope you're all hungry.

The boys all nod as the rest of Team RWBY walk in with a small cart with containers of food filled to the brim with eggs, bacon, sausage and pancakes. The boys all look at Grimlock for the okay with Sludge and Swoop drooling a little. Grimlock chuckles and nods at the boys and they all start tearing into the containers. After all the boys got their plates of food, Blake immediately went to sit with Sludge and make sure he was healing properly and again he called Blake mommy, which brought a smile to her face. Weiss went and sat in between Swoop and Snarl and started talking to them. Swoop took to Weiss right away while Snarl was a little hestant but started accepting her too. Yang tried to talk to Slag but he was giving her the cold shoulder, as Grimlock put it, Slag doesn't like anyone. Yang never lost her confidence and said she was going to get through to him one way or another. Ruby sat with Grimlock and could make more conversation with him since he was the oldest.

Ruby: How do you feel after last night?

Grimlock: Grimlock, we, were all exhausted from being on run for long time. It felt good to be in a bed.

Ruby: Good. *after a moment of silence* You don't have to answer this next question, but how did you end up out there all alone?

Grimlock becomes silent and looks down and Ruby started to think she made him remember what bad must've happened to him.

Ruby: I'm sorry, I shouldn't have brought it up. Forget I said anything.

Grimlock: It, okay, Grimlock don't remember anything before-. *looks at his brothers* before the experiments.

Ruby didn't push the subject any further as she knew it must be painful to look back and decided to just try earning his complete trust, like a parent. Ruby then finally broke the news to the boys that team RWBY would be taking care of them and raise them as their own, and for the most part, all the boys agreed and were happier to have people who they felt truly cared about them. After spending the morning with their new kids, Team RWBY had to leave so the boys could undergo another round of treatment. It was a little funny seeing Sludge act like a two year old and didn't want Blake to leave, but she assured him that she would be back and he felt better. The girls were walking back to school and talking about their new, exciting responsibilty.

Weiss: I have to admit, bringing hope to a kid is really enjoyable.

Ruby: Ooooh! This is so exciting!

Blake: It does feel good to know that they wanted us to care for them.

Yang: Well, Slag is putting on quite the tough guy facade but I think he likes it too.

Ruby: So, what do we do till we can visit again?

Blake: I think the next thing is to think about what they'll be needing when they move in with us.

Yang: Yeah, like clothes, and a place to sleep.

Weiss: Well, I can certainly take care of our kids clothing needs but the sleeping place might be a little difficult. We can't just let them sleep on the floor.

Ruby: Hmm, *slight gasp* maybe we don't have to.

Blake: What are you talking about?

Ruby: The dorm room next to ours doesn't have anybody living in it and it's empty.

Yang: Oh yeah, we'll tear out the wall so that the kids can be close to us and still have enough room to put in beds for them to sleep on.

Blake: That does seem efficient.

Weiss: Okay, Ruby and I can go into town and get the boys their clothes and other essentials. Blake and Yang can use the time to renovate our two dorms.

Ruby: Sounds like a plan.

Yang: This is gonna be fun.

Over the next few hours Yang and Blake got to work on the renovation while Weiss and Ruby got the boy's essentials. When Weiss and Ruby return they help continue renovating the room and situate the beds. Once that was finished the team heads back and continues trying to bond with their kids, Yang even made a little progress with Slag by telling him one of her bad jokes. Likewise, the boys were pretty eager to get out of the hospital.

Timeskip Next Day

The hospital finally discharges the boys and team RWBY happily take them back to their new room. They arrive and the kids are all surprised by their new accomodations.

Although Swoop and Snarl had to probably share a bed, the two weren't complaining. The kids tried out their new beds and Swoop immediately tried out the slide that went between their bed frames and laughed. This got a giggle out of Weiss cause she was happy that Swoop had a smile on his face. Sludge and Grimlock took the bottom bunks and Slag took the last mattress on the top bunk.

Grimlock: This for us?

Ruby: Of course.

Yang: We can't let you all just sleep on the floor like animals.

Blake: Yeah, you're all our family now and we will treat you as such.

Weiss: If you ever need or don't understand something, come talk to us. We will always be here to help you, promise.

Swoop and Snarl actually hugged Weiss and Sludge hugged and actually picked up Blake, Grimlock too gave Ruby a thank you, Slag then looked at Yang.

Slag: Thanks, I guess.

Yang: Absolutely.

Weiss then got everyone's clothing sizes and gave each a change of clothes for them to wear today. One by one the boys changed and by that time Ruby had a huge plate of cookies for the boys and made sure to keep a few for her and her team. When the boys were actually presented with said cookies, Slag and Sludge got into an altercation over the cookies. Blake and Yang quickly broke them up and Blake stated.

Blake: Goodness Ruby. Your baking brings out the beast in everyone.

This got a laugh out of the team and Slag finally calmed down and ate his share. After a little more hanging out and talking, there was a knock on the door. Ruby went to answer it and opened it up to see her good friends team JNPR.

Ruby: Hey Jaune.

Jaune: Hey Ruby. Ready for game night?

Ruby: Yeah sure. To be honest we were distracted so I kind of forgot. Come on in.

As soon as team JNPR walks in they immediately notice the renovated room then Nora gasps loudly as she noticed the five kids.

Nora: Oh my goodness! They're all soooooo cute!

Ren: Where did these kids come from?

Blake: That's a long story.

Grimlock: *growls*

Ruby: Whoa! Whoa. Easy Grimlock. These are our friends, you can trust them.

Grimlock calms down a little but is still hesitant about meeting the new people, that is until Nora went on a rant about how cute each kid was. The boys introduced themselves and vice versa, Swoop then asks.

Swoop: What's a game?

Weiss: It's when you have fun in the most pointless way possible.

Yang: Don't tell me you're still sore for losing that game of Candyland.

Weiss: I was winning until I got stuck in the Molasses Swamp for 10 turns!

The two teams laugh and while they play their games the kids all sit next to their new mothers and watched. Snarl was actually quite interested in Remnant the board game and Slag just sat somewhat behind Yang and watched from afar. After 3 hours of games, Blake heard some light snoring in her lap and looked down at Sludge who was out like a lightbulb. Weiss heard two light snores and looked at either side of her and saw Snarl and Swoop knocked out too.

Weiss: Okay, I think it's time to call it a night.

Blake: Agreed, poor Sludge is worn out.

Ruby: Alright kids, bed time!

Team JNPR said their goodnights and Nora gave the kids hugs before leaving. Yang looked and saw Slag already in bed. Blake carried Sludge, with some effort, to his bed and tucked him under the blankets. Grimlock got into bed himself as Ruby helped Weiss with Snarl and Swoop, she then turned her attention to her own son.

Ruby: How do you feel about today?

Grimlock: It was nice.

Ruby: *smiles* Good. I hope we can have more nice days like this but no matter what happens, I will always take care of you. Promise.

Grimlock finally shoots her a smile and she becomes very happy and tucks Grimlock into bed. She then leans down and kisses his forhead, causing him to blush once more. Grimlock has never known this kind of affection before, it honestly felt really nice. Weiss tucked her kids in and kissed both of them goodnight.

Weiss: Goodnight, my little dinos.

After tucking Sludge in, Blake just sat in a chair and watched him sleep for a few minutes. She then wondered to herself how her son would react to her being a faunus or just faunus in general. She looked back at Sludge and decided to worry about that another day. She also kissed her son goodnight before heading to bed.

Yang stayed up a little while longer than the others in one last ditch attempt to get some sort of reaction from Slag today.

Yang: Listen, sweety, I know you had a difficult upbringing, but don't let that stop you from caring about the important things or people in your life. I don't care if you don't trust me completely, but one thing I do want you to trust is that I will never stop caring about you. Will there be speedbumps and obstacles? Yes, every relationship has them, I may get upset or disappointed if you did something wrong but I will never be angry. I love you son. Sweet dreams.

Yang puts her hand on Slag's shoulder but doesn't get a reaction, she then gets down to go to her bed when she hears.

Slag: Good night, Yang.

Yang: *smiles to herself* Goodnight Slag.

Blake puts on a night light, just in case, and the team get ready for bed and all fall asleep with a smile. But tomorrow is the kids first day of school, so this should be interesting.
