3rd Person POV

     Grimlock suddenly woke up in a cold sweat and panting heavily, he looks around and remembers where he is.

Grimlock: Another nightmare. *deep breaths*

     Just then Grimlock saw Swoop climbing down the ladder from the top bunk and walked over to Weiss. In her sleep, Weiss could feel a tap on her shoulder and she yawned a little and rubbed her eyes. She looked up and saw Swoop looking scared.

Weiss: *slightly worried* Swoop? What's the matter sweety?

Swoop: *sniffles* I-I had a bad dream.

Weiss: Oh sweetheart, I'm so sorry.

      Weiss sat up and gently pulled Swoop into a much needed hug. Weiss held Swoop for several minutes until he calmed down, Swoop stood up to go back to bed, but Weiss simply told him to sleep with her, just for tonight. Swoop felt a lot happier as he climbed into Weiss' bed and snuggled next to her. Weiss kissed his forhead and wrapped and arm around Swoop and the pair fell asleep. Grimlock smiled a little watching this and took a deep breath and fell back to sleep as well.

Timeskip Next Morning

     Grimlock was sleeping quite peacefully and he slowly started to wake up to the morning light. He sleepily fluttered his eyes open then closed them again, when suddenly a blaring sound is heard in the room.

      Grimlock shot up in his bed and bonked his head on the frame above him, he held his head as the other kids were startled awake. Blake then woke up and turned off the alarm and looked over at the boys and saw them all freaked out. Weiss was shaken awake when Swoop sat up really scared. The only one who didn't react was, Slag, of course, Weiss calmed down Swoop and carried him over to Snarl and she calmed him down too. Blake rushed over to Sludge who was less scared but was still startled by the noise.

Blake: Sludge, shh, it's okay baby. It's alright, it's called an alarm clock it tells mommy when to wake up in the morning.

Sludge: Sound still loud.

Weiss: Not loud enough for Yang and Ruby apparently.

Grimlock: Why need alarm?

Weiss: Well, this place is what's called a school designed to help train us to become fighters.

Grimkock: So we get to break stuff?

Blake: Sometimes.

Grimlock: This might not be too bad then, eh Slag?

Slag: *YAWN* It just got interesting anyway.

      Slag's yawn was enough to wake up Yang, after stretching, Yang greeted Slag with her still upbeat attitude. Slag was uninterested, until the mention of breakfast was announced. Ruby finally hauled herself out of bed and fell to the floor then got up like nothing happened. She looked around and her eyes landed on Grimlock trying to fit into his school uniform, poorly, she then shook her head and rubbed her eyes, then stood up and tried to help Grimlock.

Grimlock: *growls* Why so small?!

Ruby: Because this one's for Swoop.

Grimlock: Oh.

      Ruby got Grimlock's actual uniform but then sniffed him and told him that he had to take a shower first. Reluctantly, Grimlock did as he was told and returned squeaky clean, this satisfied Ruby and she handed Grimlock his uniform from outside the bathroom. Weiss made sure both her boys were well dressed, despite some protest from Snarl. Blake had an easier time with Sludge because he just did what she asked of him.

Slag: Do we have to wear these, Yang? I can't smash stuff while wearing this.

Yang: Trust me I don't like wearing these either.

Weiss: But, in order to be a Huntsman, you have to be smart as well as strong.

Boys: Awww!

      The girls all laugh and grab a few things for the boys to keep them occupied during classes. The entire group then grab breakfast and head to their first class with Professor Port and, as usual, he wastes time by telling stories of his youth. While Swoop was interested in the story Port was telling, the other boys were not and Slag had fallen asleep again. After what felt like eternity for the boys, class finally ended and Team RWBY led their kids back to the cafeteria for their lunch break. The group is joined by Team JNPR and Nora immediately starts doting on the boys, until a squeal is heard. Everyone looks up and sees an all to familiar sight.

Faunus: Please stop, that hurts!

Cardin: Nah, I don't think we will.

Faunus: *squeals as tail is pulled*

      Just then Yang hears Slag chuckling a little bit at the sight and slightly flicks his ear.

Slag: What was that for?

Yang: It's not nice to laugh at someone while they are being hurt. How would you feel if someone did that to you?

Slag: It wouldn't happen to begin with because I'd just crush 'em.

Grimlock: Why that person being picked on?

Blake: Because, she's a Faunus. Faunus look a lot like humans except for a single animal feature like ears or a tail. Because of this, Faunus are treated like vermin and bullied by many humans. It's not right.

Ruby: Yeah, people who do that are rotten.

Faunus: Stop it!

Cardin: Hahahaha!

      Weiss then looks down and sees that someone is missing from the table.

Weiss: Uh, Blake? *Blake looks at Weiss* Where's Sludge?

     Blake looks at the empty seat next to her, then stands and looks around frantically, until-

Sludge: Hey! Leave that Faunus alone!

Blake: Oh dear.

      Blake looks and Sludge is walking up to the group of boys with no hesitation, she starts quickly going around the table to get to him before Sludge gets hurt. Team CRDL see the large kid walking to them and start laughing at Sludge as well, giving the Faunus the chance to escape.

Cardin: *mockingly* Oh yeah, pipsqueak. What will you do if I don't?

Sludge: I'll beat you up!

      All the members of team CRDL laugh harder and Cardin walks confidently to this kid and attempts to hit him. However, Sludge caught Cardin's wrist and held it in place, surprised, Cardin was about to hit this kid with his other hand but Sludge just uppercuts Cardin and sends him flying into the air and through the ceiling. This surprised everyone watching, except Grimlock, the rest of team CRDL wanted to get after Sludge but Blake had arrived and told them to back off or else. The guys took the message and walked away as their leader crashed back down into the floor unconscious. Blake then turned around and knelt down as she pulled Sludge into a hug.

Blake: Sweety, why did you do that?

Sludge: Mommy said bullying not right, so Sludge stopped them. Did Sludge do wrong?

Blake: No, Sludge. I was just scared you might get hurt. Please, don't scare Mommy like that again.

Sludge: Okay.

     Blake walked Sludge back to the table and he was praised for standing up to a bully. Lunch ended and the group went to history class with Profess- uh, Dr. Oobleck. All the boys this time were really not interested in history and just used some of the item that their mother's brought with, like a sketch book with crayons for Swoop while the others had puzzles that none of them could figure out even though it was easy for their mom's. History finally ended and Combat class was next and this time all the boys were really interested, although Ruby told them that they were still healing and not yet ready for combat, yet. While this did bum the boys out, especially Grimlock and Slag, they were still interested to see what combat in the outside world looked like. For the entire class the boys watched fight after fight and asked their parents if they can train to fight like that. The girls giggled at their son's eagerness, Professor Goodwitch then stated that there was enough time for one more fight and team CRDL all raised their hands.

Glynda: Team CRDL, who would you like to be your opponents.

Cardin: Team RWBY.

     Ruby and the others were surprised by this but accepted the challenge.

Ruby: Jaune? Can your team watch the boys?

Jaune: Sure thing Ruby.

      The two teams change into their combat outfits and equip their weapons, then Glynda calls for the match.

Glynda: Fighters, ready?

The two teams ready themselves and Yang can see a couple of their adversaries are sweating already and smirked.

Cardin: Prepare to be humiliated then those kids are next.

Weiss: You did not just threaten my family.

Glynda: FIGHT!

     Team CRDL charges in, but RWBY react much faster, with Ruby using her Semblance to get behind Russel and use Crescent Rose's scythe blade to trip him and then fire a shot and uses the momentum to slam the backend of her weapon into Russel's back and drive him into the ground. Blake, used her shadow clones to avoid hits from Sky and when she avoids another strike she ends up a ways behind Sky and throws Gambol Shroud's grapple form and hooks around Sky's neck. Blake then yanks hard causing Sky to fling towards her she then spins and executes a roundhouse to Sky's face and he smashes into the floor. Weiss used her glyphes to force Dove into a certain spot where a black glyph caught him and froze him in place. Weiss then used fire dust infused Myrtenastor and charges straight at Dove and takes him out with one blow. Yang faces off against Cardin, Cardin tries a overhead swing, but Yang just sidesteps to the right and catches his weapon. Cardin refuses to let go, so Yang manipulated his weapon and brought him close and as she winked at him Yang elbowed him in the nose, forcing him to stumble backwards. As the rest of Team CRDL slowly recover, all of their Auras are still in the yellow, Yang's eyes turn red and she charges forward and with one powerful punch, knocks Cardin out and the resulting shockwave knocked the rest of team CRDL down and out.

Glynda: And with that Team RWBY are our winners. Cardin, maybe you should think twice before challenging someone out of your league.

     Team RWBY all congratulate each other and as they returned to their seats, most of the kids praised their mother's for a good fight. Yang looked at Slag and while he didn't say anything, she could tell he was impressed with her performance as well.

Sludge: Mommy fight good.

Swoop: Way to win!

Snarl: Good job, Mom!

      Ruby looked at Grimlock and he simply smirked and nodded in approval, which was good enough for her. The family then head back to their dorm room and the boys breath as sigh of relief when they finally get out of their stupid school outfits. Yang prevents Slag from just tearing off his, and Weiss praised Swoop and Snarl for keeping their uniforms proper. Blake and Ruby were a bit more laid back about Sludge and Grimlock keeping their look throughout the day because it was their first day but praised them too. After everyone got into a more relaxed outfit, they all had dinner in the cafeteria because Weiss can't cook to save her life. Overall, everyone enjoyed the night and afterwards, Team RWBY led the boys outside to the courtyard and let the boys play and while Grimlock and Slag had fun rough housing, Snarl and the others had fun playing with a soccer ball, with Swoop having fun until he was way too tuckered out to play anymore. As the sun set the family returned to their room for the night and while the boys cleaned up for bed, their mothers finished up some last minute homework, much to Yang and Ruby's dismay. When the boys were ready for bed their moms tucked them in and said their goodnights, they went back to finish off the last of their homework but Ruby was up a little longer because she wanted to make sure everything was right. Ruby then heard some slight grunting and growling coming from the kids direction and looked to see Grimlock tossing and turning in his bed. Ruby got down and walked closer to Grimlock and saw he was getting scared in his sleep, she knelt down to him and put a hand on Grimlock's shoulder. Suddenly Grimlock's eyes shot open and were red, he looked at Ruby and out of nowhere he grabbed her by her throat. She let out a slight squeal at this action, then Grimlock's eyes went back to normal and he quickly released her and backed up to the wall with a scared look on face.

Ruby: *slight cough* It's okay, Grimlock. You're home, you're safe. It was just a bad dream.

Grimlock: It felt real.

Ruby: Shh, it's okay. I'm here now and you're safe.

     Ruby put a hand on Grimlock's head and he looked at her and some tears running down his face because he almost hurt Ruby on accident. Grimlock then took a deep breath and asked Ruby.

Grimlock: Can Grimlock tell you what happened to us?

Ruby: Of course, you can talk to me about anything.

      Ruby took a seat next to Grimlock and let him explain at his own pace.

Grimlock: Grimlock, and brothers, were all lab rats. We were taken from our families and the bad people did some sort of science thing to give us our dino forms. It was painful, the constant cutting, poking and prodding to turn us into weapons. The only people we could trust was each other. One day Grimlock had finally had enough and got mad while white coats were cutting into Grimlock and turned into dino form, killed everyone and escaped with brothers. Sludge got hit by collpsing ceiling and that why he hurt when we found you.

      Ruby could barely contain the horror that appeared on her face, no wonder the boys were so distrusting at first, they've never had anyone to call family except each other. Ruby pulled Grimlock into a much needed hug and just let him rest his head against her chest.

Grimlock: While Grimlock's brothers can turn into dinos at will, Grimlock need to be angry to transform.

     Ruby held Grimlock for a long while and before either of them knew it they had both fallen asleep in Grimlock's bed. Ruby had made a promise to care for Grimlock and the other boys and she wasn't about to break it.
