3rd Person POV

     It's dance night and there are mixed feelings about it from the RWBY family.

Slag: Mom, do I really need to wear this?

Yang: It's only for one night then I'll never make you wear one ever again. Deal?

Slag: *sigh* Fine.

     Yang kisses Slag's cheek and helps him finish his tuxedo. Grimlock too was have issues with his suit and Ruby was not thrilled about wearing a dress and what she calls lady stilts. Weiss scolded both a little until they finally got their attire on, she then changed her tune when her two boys got their tuxedos together.

Weiss: *excited* Oh, you two look so handsome!

Swoop: I could get used to this.

Snarl: Not preferred, but tolerable.

Sludge: How we supposed to fight in these?

Blake: *chuckles* Oh baby, we're not fighting tonight. This is a night for all of us to just relax and have fun.

Sludge: Fighting is fun.

Grimlock: Thank you! *groans*

     All the girls chuckle and make their final preparations before leading the boys to the ballroom. Blake and Sludge met up with Sun.

Blake: I knew you looked better in a tie.

Sun: *turns around* Oh hey Blake. Uh, you look great. You too, Sludge.

Blake: Just so you know, my first two dances are already spoken for.

Sun: Fine by me.

      Meanwhile, the rest of the family make it to the party and see loads of people already having fun. Ruby breaths and starts walking but Grimlock doesn't move with her.

Ruby: Grimlock? What's the matter?

Grimlock: Grimlock, don't like new people.

     Ruby noticed Grimlock was shaking a little, she looked around and told him they can hang out by the punch bowl in the corner of the room. Weiss, Snarl and Swoop check the decorations, while Yang and Slag made sure everyone on the guest list arrived. When Blake, Sun and Sludge arrive, Yang asks Blake for their dance and both head to the dance floor. Slag and Sludge joined Grimlock at the punch bowl and watched, Jaune then showed up next to Ruby.

Jaune: I see you and Grim are hiding at the punch bowl, too.

Ruby/Grimlock: Yup.

Jaune: *raises his glass* To the socially awkward.

Ruby: * giggles as she raises her glass* Sorry things didn't work with Weiss.

Jaune: Oh, it's fine. Neptune's pretty cool, I guess. I get why she went with him.

Ruby: Actually, he turned her down.

Jaune: *nearly spits his drink* What?!

Ruby: Yeah, and all because he couldn't dance.

Grimlock: Never worry. Snarl and Swoop came and save day. *points out Weiss and kids dancing*

     A little while later Jaune saw Pyrrha walking to the balcony, alone and decided to follow her. Blake and Yang finished their dance and Blake beckoned Sludge over for their dance. Sludge just dove right in with a smile even though he knew nothing about dancing. Yang also asked Slag to dance with her, and begrudgingly he accepted. Ruby is then joined by Professor Ozpin, the headmaster of Beacon.

Ozpin: Not enjoying yourself?

Ruby: Oh, no, everything's fine. I'm just not a dancey girl.

Ozpin: Well, you can't spend your entire life on the battlefield, even if you may want to.

Ruby: Yeah, that lesson's getting thrown around a lot lately.

Ozpin: If you think about it, fighting and dancing aren't that different. Two partners interlocked, *chuckles* although one wrong move here will merely lead to a broken toe.

Ruby: Or a twisted ankle.

Ozpin: It isn't everyday people get to come together like this. Nights like these are ones we'll never forget.

     Ozpin leaves and joins the rest of the staff keeping an eye on the party. Ruby and Grimlock then join Yang and Slag on a balcony overlooking the party.

Yang: I think we all really needed this.

Ruby: Yeah, you did a great job planning this.

Yang: Aww, thanks. *wraps an arm around Ruby's neck* It wasn't just me though, Weiss did a lot too.

     The pair look down at Weiss dancing with Snarl and Swoop, and Blake is dancing with Sun and Sludge.

Yang: *sigh* Tomorrow it's back to work.

Ruby: It is what we signed up for and we'll wake up tomorrow and face anything that is thrown at us.

     Laughter then starts from down below.

Ruby: Except for that.

     The rest of the RWBY family join Ruby and Yang on the balcony as Team JNPR break out dancing as a team in the middle of the dance floor. The Dino-kids have isolated themselves in a corner and watch Team JNPR dance, Grimlock suddenly feel himself tapping his feet to the beat for some reason.

Slag: Having fun boss? *mockingly*

Grimlock: No! *feigning interest*

Swoop: Come on big brother just try it. We all did, you need to try too.

Grimlock: Nope.

     Slag smirks at Snarl and Sludge, both nod in return and they all grab Grimlock.

Grimlock: Hey let me go! Let me go, you morons!

Slag: Time to feel the embarassment!

      Grimlock is pushed onto the dance floor and immediately he starts shaking because of all the unknown people around him. He looks back at his brothers and Sludge actually says.

Sludge: Go with the flow.

     Just then an interesting song comes overhead and ignites something in Grimlock.

(A/N): Hahaha! I'm sorry I couldn't resist! Just too good an opportunity.

      Grimlock then looks up at team RWBY and all are waiting for him to do something, he then decides to just screw it and go for it the only way a dino-kid can. He uses his pent up frustration to transform and starts swaying and dancing on the dance floor. At first everyone was scared that a Tyrannosaurus Rex was on the dance floor, but everyone soon settled in and actually clapped and danced along. Ruby watches with a massive smile on her face, things get even more interesting when Slag and Snarl join Grimlock in their dino forms. Sludge, meanwhile, has to stand outside in his dino form but he does manage to stick the front half of his body in starts slowly swaying to the song too. Swoop then climbs up Grimlock and Grim boosts him into the air and Swoop transforms as well doing aerial tricks and then lands next to team RWBY who all have smiles and are dancing along.

     The song ended and the Dino-kids leave the dance floor, Grimlock then tackles Slag and the two wrestle because of Grimlock's embarassment. Yang and Ruby quickly break them up and things calm down, the party continues and everyone is having a great time. Snarl and Swoop are back with Weiss dancing to one last song, Blake and Sludge are also taking one last dance, Slag and Grimlock decided to find some food and just avoid the dance floor. Meanwhile, two guest students are hanging out on a balcony over looking the party.

Emerald: All of the guests have partners.

Cinder: *over radio* How long do I have?

Mercury: We should peobably return by midnight to be safe.

Cinder: I'll keep my eye on the clock.

     Ruby tries to sneak out of the party and makes her way to the front door, when she turns to the entrance and sees a woman running across the rooftops, poorly. Curious, Ruby follows her, Grimlock sees this and decides to follow as well. As he exits the building he gets a whiff of someone worrying.

Grimlock: *sniff* It can't be. *sniff* *sniff* I gotta find Mom.

      He runs as fast as he can and catches up to Ruby, Ruby tried to make him go back but Grimlock refused and the pair arrive at the CCT Tower. Grimlock sniffs again and says.

Grimlock: There's a dead body over in those bushes... *sniffs* and more further inside.

Ruby: Grimlock, I'm not asking anymore, I'm telling you. Go back to the party.

Grimlock: Then your going to have two fights on your hands because I'm going in.

     Ruby gives in and calls her weapon locker and grabs Crescent Rose, the pair cautiously walk in towards the elevator. Ruby presses the button to go to the top floor, and the elevator starts moving up. As soon as the elevator hits the top floor and opens up, Ruby walks out with her weapon in Scythe mode, while Grimlock goes Dino and sniffs the room. Grimlock gets close to one of the computers and sniffs, he then growls because there is someone behind it, Ruby picks up on his warning and calls out the unknown individual.

Ruby: The dinosaur knows you're there. Come out with your hands up and surrender or risk being eaten.

Grimlock: *growls*

     The unknown individual a woman rises from behind the cubicle and smirks at the pair, impatiance got the better of Grimlock and he went on the attack. Grimlock bites, the woman jumps and readies three arrows, Ruby responded and shot at her. The woman was quick though and blocked her shot, Grimlock tried to bite again and missed, he then tried a tail swipe and missed again, he then lifts his tail and slams it on the ground. The woman dodged again but Ruby then went after her but the woman dodged again and she giggled. The sound of the elevator doors opening sounds and while Ruby was distracted, the woman use fire dust embedded in her clothing and blasts Grimlock, he was quick to respond with his own Fire Breath attack. The two streams connect and makes a blinding explosion giving the masked woman time to escape. Ruby stopped Grimlock before he could pursue the masked woman, and Grimlock transformed back and dropped to his knees and breathes heavily. Initially, he was angry at Ironwood for disturbing the fight and allowing the unknown adversary to escape, Ruby was quick to calm him down though. The news soon spread to the rest of the staff and Ozpin advised both Ruby and Grimlock to save the events of tonight for tomorrow morning. As the pair head back to the dorm, Ruby tries to calm Grimlock down.

Ruby: I know you're frustrated, sweety. But, today just wasn't our day. That woman was very skilled she just had the element of surprise on her side. But we'll get them next time.

Grimlock: Grimlock don't want to lose family.

     Ruby stops walking and kneels down to Grimlock's level, she puts one hand on his shoulder and the other gently forces him to look into her eyes.

Ruby: I understand. Really, I do. But we are only going to win if we work together. You protect me, I'll protect you, sound good?

Grimlock: *deep breath* Yes, Mom.

     Ruby kisses Grimlock's forehead and the pair walk back to the dorm. When they get there the pair are barraged with questions from their family. Ruby recounts what happened and after some adult discussion, the boys are put to bed and team RWBY soon after. They needed they're sleep because tomorrow, things are going to get very dangerous for all of our heroes.
