"You punched him?" Doctor Carter - Jamie - ask. Kim bit her lip as she nodded, not meeting the head's eyes. Her hand was bleeding, but not as much as Quinn was. She placed her hand and the ice pack on the desk as Kimberly met his eyes.
"I'm fine." Kim reassured, probably for the millionth time in the past hour. Jamie gave her a glare, and looked back at the ice pack.
Kim only stared back until Jamie flinched and yelled, "put the damn ice on your 2 million a year hand!"
Kim nodded slowly, putting the ice pack back on her hand as she watched the doctor huffed and rub his temple. Beside Kim sat Emily, who proclaimed that she had seen the entire situation at the door. She was silent for the interaction as she only watched Jamie and Kim have a battle of stubbornness.
Silence ensued, Kim crossing her legs as Jamie walked around his desk, leaning on the side of it as he sat on the front of it, and in front of Kim.
"Did you put her weight behind it?"
"All one hundred and fifty five pounds, sir." Kimberly smirked as Jamie grinned as well. Carter gestured for the two to exit but before they left, he spoke once again.
"And Emily," he began.
Emily turned around nervously as she placed her hands behind her back. He didn't look too serious but that was Doctor Carter for you. "Make sure she doesn't seen any patients today."
Emily nodded vigorously, dragging Kim out of the office and into the hall. Kim put the ice pack on some random nurse's desk and she turned to her best friend. Emily was basically jumping off the walls as she laughed - very loudly, Kim might add.
"You punched him. You stitched him up and minutes later, you rip the stitch by punching him. That might just top Alex's elevator story." Emily nudged her friend, walking back to the locker room to gather their things. Kim followed begrudgingly, her feet dragging as she didn't want to leave. Just because of some incident, she didn't want to go home.
Emily - not taking no as answer - dragged her friend to the locker room and grabbed her stuff for her. The two walked out of the hospital, a smile on Emily's face as they walked to Emily's car.
"Man, I love going home early." Emily spoke, putting her keys in ignition. Kim only rolled her eyes playfully.
"It's only eight, Em."
"That means I can actually have a social life!"

"Emily, I would like to sleep in my own apartment - without you rummaging through my kitchen this time!" Kim gave Emily a knowing look as Emily grinned toothy. She put her hands up in surrender as Kimberly has already made it to her door.
She waved at her friend, telling her to leave as Emily waved back, starting up the car again.
Kim opened her door, throwing her keys and wallet in the small plate beside the door. She looked at her hand, the bleeding had stopped but it was still very red. Kimberly sighed, shaking her hand whilst she started walking to her kitchen. She needed a drink.
Opening her wine cabinet and grabbing a glass, she poured herself some and sat on the stool. She closed her eyes, enjoying the silence.
The silence that she savored didn't last long as the sound of glass breaking filled the big apartment. Kim jumped, the glass almost falling from the marble counter, but she caught it in time. Kim looked around, knowing she had a taser in the house. She swallowed silently as Kim opened her drawer and pulled out a knife.
Silence ensued once again, Kim's breathing became short as she started walking to the source of the glass. Kim's hand started shaking as she turned the corner where her window broke. It was a very bad habit of Kimberly - the shaking, the twitching, it would get to a point where she had to sit down and take a breather.
"...help...me."
Kim jumped, turning to the voice to see a man in a tight shirt and a pair of sticks peaking from his back. He was on the floor, blood pouring from his side, arm, and forehead. Kim dropped the knife, running towards him. She placed two fingers on his neck and checking if his pulse was still there.
Once she felt a faint heartbeat, Kim quickly took off his shirt, his weapons and everything and put it to the side. Running back to the kitchen, Kimberly grabbed a first aid from under the cabinet and went back to the bleeding man on her carpet.
"My one day off." Kim grumbled, opening the small box and grabbed the gauze. She started on the wound in his side since it was bleeding the most out of all his wounds. She put her blue gloves on and sighed.
Kim grimaced as she started to disinfect it. What could cause this? Who did this? Kim cursed her kindness, because look where it got her - stitching up a random man that was bleeding all over her carpet.
The doctor went to stitch the man but felt something in the wound. Oh god, Kim though as she inhaled sharply. Mentally preparing herself, Kim put her hand inside the man's side. The wound was big enough to allow Kim's hand to enter the wound swiftly without hitting anything important.
Once Kim's hand reached something small and out of place, she knew she had found what has entered this man's body. Well, one of the things that has entered his body. Kim grasped the bullet and slowly exited the now very bloody wound. She placed the bullet to the side, along with his clothes as she grabbed the needle and went to work.
Once the stitches were finished, Kim placed a bandage on it and hoped for the best. The wound on his side and arm were completed, the cut on his forehead was not as much as a hassle as the rest of his injuries were. Kimberly opened a band-aid and placed it on his cut. Kim sighed, taking the gloves and throwing them away.
Taking a look at the shirtless man, she placed her hands on her hips. She did not want to risk him popping a stitch by moving him onto the bed or couch, so the floor it was. Kim walked into her room, grabbing an extra blanket and put it on the man.
Kim gave him a weak smile as she took his clothes and weapons into her room and started trying to fix his shirt. She first put it in the laundry and wanted to sew it back up again. She really didn't know why she was doing this, but Kim only hoped it was worth it.
As Kim was in her kitchen, drinking her well-deserved wine - finally relaxing from the very demanding day. Kim closed her eyes, laying back on her couch as she heard the door frantically open and slam shut.
Kim raised an eyebrow, way too tired to get up and see who it was, but she had a feeling she already knew who it was. There was only two people who had the key to Kimberly's apartment, and other than her...
"KIMM! We have a very big-" Emily's voice trailed off as she entered the living room. She first looked at the man on the floor who was covered with a blanket and then Kim. Kim shook her head, taking a long sip of her drink. Emily said nothing, walking back to the connecting kitchen, grabbing a glass and pouring for herself.
Emily sat on a stool next to the island as she couldn't stop looking at the man.
"We are going to have to talk about this, eventually. I would rather prefer now rather than later." Emily spoke, gesturing to the dark haired beauty sleeping on Kim's carpet. Kimberly stood up, and sat back down on the stool across from Emily.
She put her head down, groaning as she did. Emily grinned and laid her head beside her.
"He crashed into my window and passed out, and I wasn't going to let some random dude die in my apartment, on my rug." Kim explained vaguely, complaining as well.
"You do love that rug," Emily tittered softly, stroking her best friend's hair.
"Damn right I do." Kim spoke sleepily, her words slightly slurred as she closed her eyes. The marble felt great against her skin. Slowly, Kimberly's eyes shut as sleep took over.

sUpEr RuShEd ScEnE I know
one of the shortest chapters I have written with a whooping 1435 words. I think chapter 5 is like 2690 words so yeah, get ready.
And I wrote this scene before even thinking of the entire plot of the book - which I gotta say is a pretty good plot - and it just, isn't good, I will go back in edit this soon but after I start actually having an update schedule and of the such
Until next time,
