"Woman! Let's go!" Emily yelled, looking at her phone as she tapped her foot impatiently. Emily has been waiting over an hour, and if Emily finished getting ready before Kimberly, there is a problem.

Kimberly chuckled, putting her black heels on. Emily huffed in annoyance, grabbing the keys from the counter and opened the door. She announced that she was leaving as Kimberly grabbed her small purse and phone as she quickly trailed Emily.

After locking her door and making it Emily's car, Kimberly exhaled loudly. Emily was checking herself in the mirror, applying more lipstick before she acknowledged Kimberly. "Took you long enough!" Emily spoke, a grin graced her features. Kimberly only chuckled and shook her head.

She grabbed her phone, checking if anybody had messaged her, and someone had. "Alex asked if we are going to met up afterwards." Kim announced, opening her phone and starting to reply.

"If we had a night like last night, definitely yes!" Emily started tapping her fingers against the wheel, humming the beat to Hollaback Girl. Kimberly started to reply, giving Alex a rain check - Emily's liver would thank her later.

After a few moments, the duo made it to the infamous Wayne Manor. The massive mansion was beautifully lit up, all the lights leading down to the manor. Kim just stared in awe, this was her first time she had even came this close to Bruce Wayne's manor. She heard stories about the parties he used to throw, some people evens compared it to Gatsby's parties. That's how it got it's notoriety.

"Dude, look at this stuff! Just the lawn could pay off my student debt and my apartment for a year!" Emily spoke, having the same reaction as Kim.

They made it to the front of the manor, it looking even better closer. Kim exited the car, her eyes widening but she tried to retain her composure. Emily grabbed her arm and pulled her away and to the front door.

"Name." The man at the door spoke, a clipboard in hand. Emily told him both their names and he let them enter. Instantly, both the doctors were hit by the massive swarm of people. Soft music was playing in the background as Emily and Kimberly walked through the main area

Emily - being Emily - first went to the bar. Being a billionaire grants you automatic access to the best wines and drinks in the world, Kim presumed. As the two girls sat down and ordered, Kimberly turned around and seeing who see could find, but they found her.

"If it isn't my two favorite doctors!" Alex spoke, sitting beside Kimberly. He grinned widely, ordering himself a drink as he took the time to look Kimberly head to toe.

Alex whistled, doing a double take as he inhaled sharply. "Damn girl, you look stunning!"

Kimberly was dressed in a long, black dress with her straps on her shoulders were lace. The lace went down all the way to her middle and to the heart shaped center then it became loose as it went down. Kimberly smiled as she also glanced at Alex's attire.

He was dressed in a traditional black tux, his vest buttoned all the way up and his bow tie folded sharply.

"You don't look to bad either, Hotshot." Kimberly commented, turning back to the bar as the bartender gave them their drinks. Thanking him, Kimberly grabbed her champagne and started to as Emily started on her wine.

The three sat in comfortable silence, drinking their drinks until Kimberly finally stood up. She placed her champagne onto the counter and grabbed Emily and Alex. "We aren't going to sit here like the ugly girls at prom! This is probably the only time I will see any other doctor outside of the hospital and out of scrubs - like look at Doctor Carter!"

Emily and Alex's heads turned to the head of the hospital, he was wearing a grey suit, his wife in his hand. Everyone was used to the other doctors and nurses in scrubs but everyone now looked very different.

Kimberly looked to the stairs, trying to find the man of the hour - Bruce Wayne - but instead she found somebody else.

Kim's eyes furrowed as she grinned widely. "White streak!" White Streak - Jason - turned around from his group to see who called him and grinned once he saw who it was. "Matchie!"

Kim walked towards Jason, her arms open as she embraced him into a large hug as he laughed. He wrapped his arms around her smaller frame for a moment until she let him go. Over the past week, Kimberly has been talking to Dick and Jason has been with Dick every single time Kimberly called, so naturally, Emily tagged along.

Kim was about to ask where Dick was, but he came up to her. Dick wore a suit, his black jacket complimenting the blue tie that he wore that matching the exact color of his eyes. Kimberly was out of words when he smiled, grabbing her hand.

"Kimberly, you look stunning." Dick spoke, his voice like silk. Kim could only smile back at his compliment. What did this man do to her?

Jason spoke with Emily, small chuckles coming from them. Kim turned around a shot them a glare but only made them laugh harder. Slowly, the music in the manor became louder and couples started to make their way to the middle of the room and started dancing.

"Can I have this dance?" Dick asked, even if was holding her hand from the beginning.

"Of course." Kim answered breathlessly, a smile gracing her features.

The two moved away from the side and went to the middle of the room and Dick placed his left hand on her back and put their right hands higher. Kimberly followed his lead, their eyes locked as Dick laughed.

Kim raised a brow, "something funny?"

He looked back up at her, his laughing stopped but he was still smiling - his smile looks like it could make flowers grow. It was bright and he always looked happy. He looked like he had a happy life.

"It's just, I'm watching Tim try to dance and it is a treat."

"Who's Tim?" Kim asked as she turned around, trying to find what he was looking at and it wasn't hard to find. He was dancing with a girl who seemed his age and he was stumbling and tripping everywhere. He kept on looking down, not looking at the girl he was dancing with.

Kimberly tried to hold in her laugh, but it was hard.

"He is my brother - adoptive brother. He is a very big nerd, Timothy." Kim turned back around, her smile still on her face. Adoptive brother? Kimberly had heard about Bruce Wayne's sons - Dick being one of them - but Kim didn't ask why he was in the system to start off with. She presumed it was something he wouldn't like to remember.

Kimberly did ask once, but she respected his privacy and did ask again. If roles were reversed, she wouldn't want him to ask about her past. It would be too much for her.

"So, what do you do for a living?" Kim echoed the question from a few weeks ago. They both grinned, knowing that the tables have turned.

"Well, I'm an acrobat."

Kim stared at him, not saying anything. This fully grown man is an acrobat. She gave a look as he didn't meet her eyes. "Promise! Was in the circus since I was 8!"

She held in a laugh, saying sorry every time a laugh escaped her lips. The song continued, the two dancing in comfortable silence between them.

"How are the wounds?" Another subject he rather not discuss. Yet here she was, dancing with a man she didn't even know his real last name (other than Wayne.) Rather secretive that man, but so was she.

"Healing quickly, thanks to an amazing doctor." He winked, causing Kimberly to chuckle and shake her head. "Well, when random, hot men crash into my window, I try to help them."

He faked shock, taking a step back as he looked offended. "Wait, I'm not the only one?"

Kimberly's gaze up, looking like she was trying to think until she shook her head and shrugged. Dick gasped, mumbling how could it be! Kim laughed quietly as the music came to a stop.

Kim felt something tap her shoulder, indicating that she should turn around. After doing so, Emily tugged at her arm, pulling her away from Dick.

"Call me?" Dick spoke, seeing Emily take Kim away. Kimberly nodded vigorously.

"Wayne is about to talk!" Emily spoke in a rushed tone, looking at the stairs multiple times. Once they were close to the front of the room, Wayne appeared at the top of the stairs, a smile on his face.

Kim and Emily waited patiently, Kim jerking her arm away from her best friend. Emily stuck her tongue out at her. As Wayne was about to start speaking but Kimberly felt something in her bag vibrate.

The two shared a look before opening their bags and seeing if their suspicions were correct. And they were. The pagers were calling.

"What happened, Stevens?" Kim asked, putting her white coat over her black dress. She didn't care about the dress right now, people were piling up by the dozens in the emergency room.

Stevens, one of the nurses that worked alongside Kim, sighed as she walked with the doctor to the emergency room. "Joker decided to blow up a football stadium - during the championship."

Before opening the huge doors that said emergency, Kim put her gloves and other items on. Alex, Alice and Melissa met up with Kimberly as she didn't acknowledge them and directly when into the room.

Kim's eyes widen, everybody was moving - stretchers in every corner in the room. Every doctor was in the room, and every patient that could walk or stand was in the right side of the room, in chairs. Every patient that couldn't stand or walk was in a stretcher or bed. Kim walked to Doctor Carter, her eyes scanning for the most severe injury.

Doctor Carter handed her a few charts, not having the time to explain anything to her. Kimberly passed out the charts to the people who were with her, each one grabbing a random one. They dispersed as the big doors that said ambulance burst opened with another man on a stretcher, but he didn't looked like 'another man', this man had a pole going threw his body.

"Everybody move!" Kim yelled, jumping to the side of the man, one of her interns joining her. Doctor Carter was directing everybody but stopped once he saw the man.

Kim pushed him into a bigger room to examine the pole and if anything was dead or damaged. Once everybody that wasn't needed out of the room, Kim looked at her patient. The pole was around 3 feet and went through the dark haired man's stomach. It went in a diagonal angle, making it easier for the doctors and surgeons.

"We cannot give him a CT scan, the pole is too big. We have to examine him manually." Alice spoke, touching around the entry point. Kimberly nodded, humming in acknowledgment.

Before Kim could start examining her patient, his levels spiked. His heart rate started plummeting, blood pressure and everything else started to go down. Kimberly started to look around as she grabbed the side of the bed and started ordering the other doctors.

"We need an OR, now! Page Doctor Faye, tell her we will be in OR 2." Kim started pushing the patient out of the room and into the elevator. Alice was on the other side of the patient, her breathing irregular as Kim saw her left hand shaking.

As a surgeon, you must have the steadiest hand. Under any pressure, any situation, you must be steady, calm. This shake could cost the patient his life. Kim didn't say anything as of right now, but if she saw that shake in the operating room, that would be a problem.

The doors of the elevator opened, the two went back to pushing. Moments later, the patient was in the operating room whilst Kim and Alice get ready to scrub in. As Kim was washing her hands, she watched Alice, especially her left hand, and her hand was fine. Hopefully, that shake was gone, she needed all the help she could get in this surgery.

"Good evening, Doctor Bailey." One of the nurses spoke to her as she smiled under her mask. She nodded, a sigh escaping her lips whilst she stood in position to start the surgery.

"Alright, let's have some fun."
