Remember when I said that Jace and I were becoming friends? I was wrong. It was as if yesterday never happened. He glared at me at every interval, when the both of us reached for the refrigerator at the same time, he glared at me. When we touched the remote at the same time, guess what, he glared at me. Just what did I do wrong.

"Howdy family!" Celine yelled bursting through the door.

"Isn't it too early for this?" Jace groaned.

"Too early for what?" Celine snapped, " anywho, since tomorrow is the first day of school, I thought I should take Elena to the mall to get school supplies and stuff."

"No one asked for your help." Jace said rolling his eyes.

"Actually.." Annie started smacking the back of Jace's head, "that would be nice of you, Jace could drive you guys to the mall."

"Wait, what?!" Jace shouted

"That would be amazing Annie."Celine said ignoring Jace,"Elena go get dressed, we don't have time."

"Ok sure." I said before going upstairs. Before I left, Jace was complaining about how he doesn't want to go anywhere and Annie just ignored him.

"You'll need pencils and pencil case" Celine said. That's what she's been doing for the past thirty minutes and Jace has been sitting on the bench outside the store tapping away on his rectangular box.

"This backpack looks nice." Celine said raising a backpack up. The backpack was white with floral patterns all over it and it called my name, not literally, but it seemed just right for me.

"I love it." I smiled.

" and we are buying it!" Celine exclaimed earning a glare from the storekeeper. While she was paying for our stuff with the card Annie gave us, I saw Jace talking to someone specifically a girl, I went closer to them and I saw the girl clearly, she was putting on a very tight short skirt.

"She's Jace's on and off girlfriend." Celine said from behind.

"Who is an on and off girlfriend?" I asked confused.

" How do I put this?" She said thoughtfully, " they get all lovey dovey today and tomorrow they break up."

"Oh ok but why do they do that?" I asked again.

"I don't know." Celine said dragging me out, "let's go to the food cart, I'm hungry."

It's been three hours since I've last seen Jace and Celine seemed less concerned. My feet were hurting and my head was spinning, I was so exhausted.

"Can we go now?" I pleaded.

" Just one more store, Annie told me to get this last item." Celine said skipping to the next store.

"Fine." I groaned and followed her. I did not skip with her, I just walked really slowly.

"Here we are!" Celine stopped at Apple store, do they sell apples here or is it just the name? "Let's get you a phone."

"Why?" I asked before I don't see the need to have a phone and by the way, it's called a phone not a rectangular box, I just realized that.

"Look you are a teenage girl, having a phone is the center of your teenage life." Celine explained.

"If you insist but I still don't understand why a phone should be the center of one's life." I told her.

"Come on, let's go." Celine said dragging me inside.

"It's time for a brief high school hierarchy lecture." Celine said.

We are currently in Celine's bedroom and I was sitting on her bed while she was standing up facing me. We actually came back without Jace, we entered a car. Celine called it an Uber or whatever it is.

"What's a high school hierarchy?" I asked

"You know, there are people who rule the school and there are others who just follow. There are some people who generally don't care and there are those who are being made miserable because of school." Celine explained, "At the top of the chart we have our home boy Jace and his girlfriend Marley. Beside Marley is her two dum dum friends Debby and Jess. These girls rule the school and the cheerleading team. Beside Jace is his even dumber friends Larry and stupid Cole."

"Is that all?" I asked because my head was filling up with names.

"I guess so", she said tapping her jaw, "Oh there is Ross, he is the school bully. At first everyone thought he was just bullying people to do his homework but one day he actually beat a student up and the poor guy almost fainted and it was just because the student said that the shape of Ross's face was weird." she said shuddering.

"Why would he do that to someone?" I asked terrified and disgusted.

"I don't know but after that day everyone became scared of him, like really scared." she said taking my phone from me, " and somehow he hangs out with the popular kids."

"Human school is so complicated." I muttered.

"What do you mean by human school?" Celine asked and I cursed my big mouth, how could I say something like that?

" Um I wanted to say your school is complicated." I laughed nervously.

Celine just smiled at me, " All the high schools in the world are like that. Now let's teach you how to use a phone cause it's it's obvious you can't use one."

"Ok thanks." I said and that's how I began my lesson for the rest of the evening.
