Chapter 8

(I ♡ Comments :) )

"My Lou-Lou? What do you need him for?" Huey asked.

"Okay, first off, Lou-Lou? Really?" Hue raised an eyebrow in his other self's direction.

"Yeah, so what? It's just a nickname." The original red triplet claimed.

"Okay, okay, whatever. Anyways, Louie's the only one in your dimension that knows you're here. He's the only one that know that reflections have their own, free will." Hue continued.

"Okay, and? What does that have to with us needing him?" Huey questioned.

"I'll show you." The other red triplet grabbed his other self's hand and led him to the lab, opening the door and going to a table. "Look." He grabbed a piece of paper and looked around for a pencil that had been there earlier.

"Looking for this?" Huey asked, handing him the pencil, which had fallen to the floor.

"Oh, thanks." Hue smiled softly. "Okay, pay attention. He drew a line across the center of the paper. "Pretend that this line is the interdimensional barrier that separates this dimension and yours." He then drew a simple picture of Huey. "Here's you." Then he drew another simple picture of Louie. "Here's Louie." Followed by a small rectangle on the side with Huey in it. "And let's say this rectangle is the invention. So," He drew a small circle in front of the rectangle. "let's say this is, a ball, or something, and we zap it with the invention, but it doesn't end up in your dimension. We'd need your Louie to tell us if 'the ball' showed up there or not. Once something gets sent over there, safely, we can finally send you back."

"That makes sense, but, how long would it take? To do all of this once?"

"Um, I'd say about a month or so to do this once." Hue responded.

"A-a month? But, I-I need to get back home soon, my brothers need me." The second red triplet placed a hand on Huey's shoulder.

"If we work hard, then we can get it done sooner, but, th-there's one problem. We need to get rid of all the mirrors in this room." Hue claimed.

"Why? Nobody comes in here." Huey claimed. "And wouldn't we need the mirrors in here? To contact Louie and all."

"Hm, I think you're right." The other red clad duck stated as the door to the lab opened slowly.

"H-Hue, the other me is trying to talk to me." Lou's voice was heard in the room.

"Then talk to him, he already knows." Hue stated.

"B-but, what about the rules? We can't-"

"Since when have you followed rules? Just talk to him, it's okay. Where is he?" Lou pointed to a mirror out in the hall.

"He's coming this way." He answered. Huey thought for a second.

"Distract him please, just, talk to him, your brother said it was okay. Talk to him about, anything really, he gets distracted easily."

"O-Okay." Lou went back out into the hallway and closed the door behind him.

"Hey, since when did we get mirrors in here anyways?" Huey questioned.

"We had to put them up, just in case, but we might have to take them down, just in case your Dewey walks in."

"Yeah right, he'd never come anywhere near here again. Not after I told him to leave. He's been pretty sensitive lately, and, it's probably because of his condition." Huey looked down sadly.

"It'll be okay, we just have to work hard to send you back, I won't sleep for days, weeks of I have to, but we will get you home." Hue reassured, his hand had stayed on his shoulder the whole time.

"Thanks Hue. I just hope Louie cooperates, he's-"

"Lazy, I know." Hue laughed a bit. "Over here, we're pretty much the same as our counterparts. We learn to live what our originals love, and sometimes it fits us perfectly, like, your personality fits me perfectly, my Dewey's a bit more cautious than yours at certain times, but they still like to have fun. As for the Louies, they're both pretty lazy, but my Louie is a lot more sensitive than yours, and isn't afraid of crying."

"My Louie isn't afraid of crying either, he's just greedy." Huey explained, looking through a few old blueprints.

"Yeah, I guess that's true." Hue claimed. "So, what you got there?"

"The blueprints to the invetion that sent me here." The red clad duck stated.

"Oh, alright. Leave those out, we might need them."

"Okay, oh, and by the way, why is there even a mirror dimension of Duckburg? Sure, it's cool and all, but, isn't it just a waste in the fabric of space time? Can't mirrors just work, the way we thought they worked?"

"Excuse me?" Hue's time sounded as if Huey had said something offensive. He put down a few papers. "I'll have you know, that our job is very important, we're practically your soul."

"Well if your 'practically my soul', then shouldn't my existance disappear in a short ammount of time, since I'm here with you and all?" Huey asked, looking over at him.

"Um, yeah, duh. That's why a have to get you back soon, or we'll both start disappearing, us, and every other Huey to exist, ever, because you're the original and if you aren't where you belong, things will slowly start to disappear."
