Chapter 6

The alternate Dewey and Louie walked down the hallway, away from the bathroom in search of the Hueys.

"Those two sure do cry a lot." Lou said quietly while rubbing his eyes.

"You can say that again." Dew stated. "My eyes sting so much, I can barely keep them open." He complained.

"Yeah, but there's nothing we can do about it." Lou claimed. "But, imagine if we lost our Huey. We wouldn't have a chance to cry cause we'd be so busy being the reflections of another us." Dewey sighed and looked down.

"I guess you're right. I just wish the other me didn't have to cut in front of a mirror. Why can't he just do it somewhere dark and secluded? Somewhere where I can't see him." The two brothers closed their eyes and stood still for a bit.

"At least we can see him, especially if he ever hurts himself too much, then we can have an idea where you are and we can save you."

"That's not how it works Louie." Dew shook his head a bit. "If he gets hurt, then I get hurt, and you can't help me, cause you can't help him. Imagine how freaked out he'd be if he woke up without a reflection." Lou nodded, now understanding what he was trying to say. "Now, we have to find the Hueys, one if not both."

"Yeah, but, where could they be?" Dew simply shrugged.

"The lab, maybe." The alternate blue triplet suggested. "You think they found a way to send the other Huey back home? I don't think I can take another cutting session." He showed his brother his wrists, which were lined with old and new wounds. Lou grabbed his brother's wrists and looked at them.

"It's that bad huh?"

"Yeah, you don't want to know where else he's hurt himself." Dew put a hand on his neck and looked down. "What about you? It can't be fun being locked up in a room all day."

"What can I do about it? Really, all he does is sleep, stare at things, and talk to himself a bit. When he sleeps, I leave the room for a bit to get some fresh air." He explained. "It gets kind of lonely in there though, and kind of scary when he talks to himself. He just keeps muttering things, one after the other. It's like he's plotting something. And it's even scarier when he looks at the mirror in his room."

"Huey has all the luck, why couldn't one of our counterparts disappear, then we'd be a bit more relaxed." Dew claimed, crossing his arms.

"Don't say that Dewey. Think of how upset Huey would be if one of us disappeared in the other dimension. Nothing would really change."

"At least they stopped fighting though. That's a positive."

"Yeah, I guess, but that's cause they're too busy being depressed to fight with each other. And now, the other you thinks the other me is crazy. Who knows what'll happen if the other me tells their Scrooge or Donald." Louie took a step forward before stumbling a bit. He regained his balance and saw Huey sitting down on the ground, his knees pulled up to his chest. "H-Hey, which Huey are you?" Lou asked quietly.

"The other one....with the depressed brothers." Huey answered sadly.

"Then, where's our brother?" Dew asked.

"I-I don't know....he's mad at me though, I just know it." The red triplet claimed. Lou sighed.

"Two Huey's, twice the stubbornness, not a good combo." Dew nodded in agreement.

"What do I do you two? Your brother is mad at me, which really means I'm mad at myself, but, if I'm mad at myself, then how will we apologize?"

"Woah, okay, okay. You just made this a lot more complicated than it has to be." The blue triplet sat down next to the other Huey, the one that wasn't his brother in this dimension, and put a hand on his shoulder. "Jut explain what's going on."

"I know why I'm here. I made an invention, one that would fix the fighting problem that my brothers had in my dimension. When I used it, I was sent here, but that's because if I wasn't there, they would stop fighting and get along with each other, because they need to take care of each other. Now, I'm stuck here, and your Huey doesn't agree with the plan that I have. I know he means well and is just trying to get me back home before something bad happens, but, I still think that my plan will work."

"What's your plan?" Lou asked softly.

"I want to recreate what happened to me the first time, but Hue, wants to make a whole new invention." Huey huffed, crossing his arms.

"Well, why not try both? First our brother's, and if that doesn't work, then we'll do yours." The alternate Dewey suggested.

"You know what? That's a really great idea." Huey smiled at the other Dewey. Dew smiled back at him and stood up, helping him up right after.

"You and our brother should really apologize to each other. With two Hueys, you two can basically be the smartest person on Earth. And with two smart ducks that know what their doing, how hard can it be?" Lou laughed softly and smiled, which made both Huey and Dew smile. It had been a while since Huey had seen his brother smile, even if it was his alternate form. As for Dewey, it had also been a very long time, so it brought joy to his heart to see his baby brother smile. "Come on, he's probably hiding in his room again." Huey nodded and followed Lou and Dew to his alternate self's room.
