"Maanga Ok illa", Sivaangi snapped and marched out towards the exit sign.
"Mapla ava unna venam nu soltu poita", Rakshan announced to Ashwin who was flaunting a wide grin and setting his messy hair like nothing happened.
"Ava Ippodhiki No soltu pora nu theliva sollu machan", Ashwin put his arms around Rakshan's shoulder to pull him close.
"Avala epdi Yes solla vekkanum nu enaku theriyum. Nee kavala padaadha", Ashwin reassured and started to jog behind her.

Sivaangi settled into the passenger seat of the car and plugged in her airpods to completely ignore the guy who made a fool out of her for an entire night.
A myriad of emotions suffused her conscious as she relived her memories from the last 10 hours and all she could do was smile.
There was something about him that made her feel safe almost instantly. His eyes never moved below her face. His hands never touched her. He even managed to make sure that his feet did not hit her by mistake.
Was this guy even living in 2021?
No, he wasn't old school. He just was a perfect gentleman.
He asked her out but made sure it wasn't out of place. He made her so comfortable that she could talk about anything and everything with him and not feel judged. He laughed with her, he listened with utmost attention, he cared for her and most importantly earned her respect.
He was everything that she wished for in a guy and in just one night she was almost smitten by him. But the fact that he had played her and pulled it off with such ease certainly irked her ego.
"Enna pathi dhaaney avlo yosikra?", his voice distracted her back into reality.
She turned around and saw his gaze trained on her.
"Anna enga?", she snarled and looked around to find her brother who was supposed to be driving her home.
"Avan kedakran", he murmured to himself.
"Ungalta dan kekren... Anna enga?", she repeated her question through her gritted teeth with her brows raised.
He gulped thickly at her eyes throwing daggers into his soul and creating a wild fire that he could not resist for much longer.
"Indha car namakku. Rakshan inoru car la varuvan", he explained.

It was a quaint coffee shop, well-hidden amidst the busy streets of Adyar.
Seated in a cozy corner, Sivaangi was busy ordering everything off the menu that looked enticing enough to gulp down, completely ignoring his presence.
He was busy admiring her antics and great taste in food, patiently waiting for her anger to wane off.
"Ungalku sir?", the waiter turned to him next to take his order.
"Coffee. Extra Hot", he said with a smile and turned his gaze back to drown in her eyes.
His eyes had a way of penetrating into her soul, making her feel shivers all over. With any other guy she might have been uncomfortable, maybe even unsafe. But with him she felt a strangely secure and guarded.
Within hours he had debunked so many of her notions about the time it takes for her to start trusting and being comfortable around someone.
Her eyes moved away from his and swayed across the room, hopelessly wishing that this distraction would help restrain her heart from falling for him. But eventually locked gazes with his which were trained on her the whole time.
"Evlo neram paathute irukalam nu plan?", she picked up on her senses to question him.
This wasn't anything like him. He was not the "feeling dizzy in love" kind of person. Yet with her he could not help but be the most cliched love sick guy and felt no shame in exposing it to her.
"Vaazhka full ah.. Enaku Kaaka Kaaka Maaya dialogue solanum nu thonudhu. Inga kanna paathute naa saganum", he just put it out there for her to know without the tiniest hint of apprehension.
Her eyes stared into his, conveying her incredulity and dissent.
"Oru nal la enna pathi ungalku enna theriyum nu indha dialogue lam pesreenga?", she was beyond perplexed and puzzled by how someone could say these things over night, although it felt honest.
He let out a chuckle. His lips curved into a wide smile. His dimple showed him. His eyes gleamed. His orbs oozed love.
She blinked almost instantly as her heart fluttered with a plethora of feelings that were unknown to her. Blood rushed to her face to paint hues of pink on her cheeks. Her breath turned into a shaky mess. She bit the insides of her cheek to stop the smile that threatened to show up.
"Oru naal illa oru varsham", he confessed.
Her eyes winded in intense surprise as she tried to process what she just heard. Did he just say that he had known her for 1 whole year?
All of a sudden she was at a loss for words. For a couple of minutes she remained dumbfounded.
"Madam unga hot chocolate", the waiter placed her drink.
Blinking to break away from the trance, she moved her gaze to the waiter and smiled to thank.
"Sir your Coffee", the waiter placed his drink and left.
"Purila", she managed to get a word out of her mouth with was completely dry.
Her face displayed the nervous wreck that she was. Not just nervous but also tense.
"Na unna paathu oru varsham aachu nu sonen", he reiterated.
"Adhu puriyudhu aana makes no sense. Konjam puriyara madri sollunga", she could not help but be curious to know more about what he meant by that.
"Its going to be a long story", he warned and looked so charming doing his trademark shrug.
"Neraya order panirken. Saptu mudikra varaikum bore adikaama irukum", she said with a teasing tone which only made him fall harder for her, if that was even possible.
He still vividly remembered the day that he first saw her like it was only yesterday. Just like every other time he went back to relive those fleeting moments, he ended up blushing at those memories in a split second.
Gulping down the blush before it flushed him, he rubbed his nape and set his hair to get a hold on his racing heart beat.
"Do you remember your first trip to Bangalore?", he asked after a scuffle with his own heart.
"Adhu epdi marappen", she said and the memories of that day started to fill her with reminiscence.
*Flashback begins*
"Naa paathu poitu varen. Nee Amma Appa Anni ya nalla paathuko", Sivaangi hid her overwhelming emotions under a brave face and bid her brother goodbye after a tight hug.
It was a lot of things happening all at once.
First trip alone. First Job. First time living away from family.
New City. New Home. New Friends.
She was scared, excited, nervous and extremely anxious, all at the same time.
She took her steps into the train to Bangalore and settled into her seat. Tears welled up when the train started moving away and her brothers image started to diminish out of her sight. Sniffing back her tears, she tried to tell herself that Bangalore was not that far away from home and she could come visit as many time as she wanted.
Pulling out her kindle from her back pack, she resumed reading from where she had left off.
There are moments in life where we think that we have it all under control and then in a split second our mind pops out a million questions making our hearts a chaotic mess.
Innumerable scenarios played out in her head, making it impossible for her to breathe. Meandering thoughts convoluted her heart and the next thing she knew was her tears rolling down her cheeks, as if they had a life of their own.
"Thanni venuma?", an unfamiliar voice broke her train of thoughts. There was something in that voice that calmed and soothed her soul miraculously.
She wiped away her tears with her tiny hands and took the unopened bottle of water that was offered by the unknown yet empathetic stranger.
"Thanks", she responded meekly and quickly took a sip from the bottle.
"First trip?", he asked and she nodded subtly to respond a yes with her head still faced down, controlling her tears.
"I can totally relate but it will get better. Indha bayathayum thaandi namma dreams ah pursue panradhula kandippa oru happiness iruku. Its a high. Things that scare you the most bring you the best experience", he finished with a smile and went up to his berth.
*Flashback ends*
"Nee vandha adhey train la dan naanum vanden. Nee aniku avlo tensed a irundha", he could not help but let out a painful sigh at that thought.
"Neengala aniku?", she asked mystified.
He nodded a yes and smiled.
"Paatha odane edho thonichu. I could not see you cry. Apram I met you again at your regular pastry shop. Apram campus la. I started meeting you by coincidence first. Aana somewhere seeing you on a daily basis became my thing. It was clear that you did not remember me. But I could not get your face out of mind. I tried. Aana I could not. So I gave up fighting the urge and decided to get to know you better", he avowed.
"How come I have never seen you?", she asked in disbelief.
A guy has been meeting her in random places for over a year and she had no clue about it. It just seemed too unrealistic.
"Because I never gawk or gape. I just see, smile and leave. I never tried to intrude in your space or privacy. Even when I decided to get to know you.. I just thought of coming and saying hi but then God had other plans", he smirked.
"Ippovum onum purila", she pouted with her innocent puppy look.
"I was mustering up and preparing to introduce myself to you a month back. Random ah I got a call. It was Rakshan, my college senior. En thangachiku paiyan paakrom Apo Un profile vandhuchu nu sonaru. He sent across your picture and trust me I was stunned. Enakum onum purila", he put his hand on his heart.
"Nambara maadriya iruku?!", she raised her eyebrows questioningly unable to mask her skepticism at his cinematic story.
Right on time, the waiter interrupted before he could respond and placed all the appetizers she had ordered.
"Ungalku?", she offered to share.
"Illa venam ma... nee sapdu", he moved the plate towards her.
"Maanga... Maanga...", she murmured under her breath just enough for it to reach his ears.
"Enna sonna?", he wasnt sure if he heard it right.
"Seriyaana maanga nu sonen. Aana ipdi oru maangavaala indha madri poi solla mudiyaadhu. So nambren. Unga kadhaya", she giggled.

Sivaangi was dolled up in a red saree with elegant jewels and minimal make up that perfectly complemented her look. Her hair put into a fishtail braid fell on her shoulder blade and her cheeks hurt from the blush she was trying hard to hide.
Her sister-in-law walked her out from the room to the living area where Ashwin and his family were seated, waiting for her.
"Idhu dan en ponnu Sivaangi", her dad introduced.
She smiled and sat next to her brother.
"Avanga rendu perum dhaaney pesanum", Ashwin's mom suggested.
"Aama avanga poi thaniya pesatum", Rakshan agreed.

"Neenga matum enna one year therinjuktu ok solreenga. Na matum one day la ok solanuma ?", she huffed as they sat on either ends of the day bed that was placed against a huge french window which overlooked the backyard.
"Un manasukku iniku morning train vitu erangumbodhe enna pudikum. Nee othuktaalum Illa naalum adhu dan unma. But Unaku oru varsham therinjukta apram dan badhil solnum nu thonichna... Adhuvum Enaku ok. En badhil maraadhu Sivaangi. Take your time", he replied without the least bit of sarcasm or annoyance.
"How was he so patient with her?", she kept thinking to herself.
Her eyes moved to look outside the window. She needed her best friend by her side to vent out her qualms but unfortunately the only person available at that moment was him.
"Enaku chocolate venum. I think best with chocolates", she whined and to her surprise he pulled out a big bar of Dairy Milk Silk Fruit and nut, her favorite.
"See you know my favorite chocolate. Aana enaku ungaloda likes dislikes lam kooda theriyaadhu", she pouted and started to unwrap the big bar of happiness.
"Enaku pudichadhu nee. Pudikaadhadhu...", he paused and she transfixed her gaze on him.
"The possibility of having to live a life without you", he finished making her feel completely flushed.

Sivaangi settled into the chair placed near the cooking range and exhaled a big breath.
"5 minutes la hot chocolate ready aidum", Ashwin informed and continued to hum her favorite song that usually made her happy but not today.
"Enaku ippove Dairy Milk silk venum", she demanded while he was trying to make the other 10 things she had listed in the last hour.
"Ippo dhaaney ma hot chocolate keta", he turned around to ask but his words were lost in his mouth when he saw her intimidating glare.
"Maanga ok Illa nu anike sonen", she murmured under her breath, just loud enough to reach his ears.
He chuckled to himself as he poured the hot chocolate into her favorite mug which read "Happily Mrs.Maanga Forever".
"Indha maanga vaala dan neenga Ippo maanga saptutu irukeenga. Nyabagam irukatum madam", he smirked with pride and handed the drink over to his pregnant wife whose cravings have been swinging between extremes for the last 8 months which he was more than happy to satisfy.
He sunk into the chair next to her and took her legs to place them on his laps before he began to massage her swollen legs.
"Love you My Maanga", she whispered and sipped down her drink.
Life was indeed perfect with her.
