When you get what you want, it's Allah's direction. But when you don't get what you want, it's Allah's protection.

It was early morning and the birds were chirping. It was a bright sunny day. Sahil got dressed into one of his formal black suit and went to the dinning table to have his breakfast with his family, who were already present in the dinning area.
"Nadir Chalo I'll drop you at your college"
"Nai Bhai Mai chala jaunga. Aap Jao Aapka important case hai na. Aaj final hearing hai na? All the best. I know you will rock it" Nadir patted his back.
He knew his elder brother was the best lawyer but he sometimes was worried about him.
They had received many threats from the prosecutor and he truly cared about his brother.
"Acha Theek hai Mai chalta hoon. Allah Hafiz" saying this Sahil left for the court.
He had an important case today. He was dealing against a political party. They had warned him to back off but he wouldn't give up on his promise towards protecting the lives of people.
He left his home and was walking towards his car, but his eyes betrayed him and wandered to the house next to theirs.
He felt a part of him missing.
Pata nahi Kyun Uski aankhein hamesha vahan kisi ko dhundti thi.
He shakes his head and goes and sits in his car. He starts reciting the prayers after sitting in the car.
Ya Allah help me bring justice to the people who are being wronged in this world. Ya Rabb. I cannot see people being accused even though they aren't wrong. Guide me ya Allah. Be with me in this little battle against the unjust.
He started driving towards his destination.
You will be the best lawyer Sahil. I trust you and I know you will not let them down.
He heard the all too familiar voice but he couldn't point out to whom did it belong to. He closed his eyes and again saw two people sitting on the terrace. But this time he also saw a kid along with them. He recognized it to be Sajid.
He wanted to know who was that girl who always bothers him. He wanted answers but he couldn't find any. He thought of meeting sajid later and asking him if he knew about the girl.
He pushed the thoughts at the back of his head and started to think about the case he had to win today.

Sahil received a call. He checks it and finds it to be Nadir. He answers the phone but immediately pulls it away from his ears.
"Bhai congrats. Yaay Aap finally jeet gayeeeeee" Nadir yelled over the phone. He was happy for his elder brother.
"Nadir Aaram se. Mujhe behra nahi hona hai" he chuckled.
"Haan vo sab toh theek hai but mujhe ab treat chahiye. Ab Matlab abhi. Let's go to our favorite restaurant. Pleaseeeee" he was crying like a little kid. Sahil always wondered how did he have a grown up dramatic child as a younger brother.
"Acha theek hai. Chalte hein. I'll pick you up from college" and he ended the call.
It was almost around 5 o clock. Sahil had won the case after a lot of difficulties. He had shown a lot of proofs against the opposition party.
Sahil had picked Nadir from college and they went to the restaurant to celebrate. They reached almost after half an hour as it was located on the outskirts of the city. Not many people would be seen in this part of the city.
After finishing the early dinner they were heading towards their car when sahil received a phone call.
"How dare you put my dad behind bars. Mr. Sahil Isma'il ye Tumne acha nahi kiya. You will have to pay for what you did in court today. I will not let this slip easily" and here we go again with the threats, he thought.
He was used to getting such threats and it didn't bother him much. He went and sat in the driving seat and Nadir was already present in the passenger seat.
As sahil was rounding the corner with his car, he crashed into another car which was on the wrong side of the lane. The car skidded on the oily surface and sahil lost control of the car. He tried the brakes only to find out that they didn't work. The brakes had failed and the car was collided with a tree.
The glass shattered and the airbags flew open. Blood was dripping from Sahil's head and he had bruises due to the seatbelt and steering wheel.
Nadir had landed his left hand on the dashboard for supporting himself from flying out of the car. He was under shock. Luckily the seat belt had saved them from further damage.
People present on the site of the accident rushed to them and pulled both of them out and immediately called for an ambulance.

Faikha was on rounds on her second day of internship. They had observed the operation theatre and other outpatient departments.
They were passing through the inpatient department when one room caught her eye.
It was the same room where she had lost a part of her self. He had been in that room when he woke up and told that he didn't remember her.
He hadn't recognised her.
Jinko hum pyare the, unko hum ab yaad nahi.
"Kya hua? Why did you stop all of a sudden?" Zaira questioned her. She looked at where Faikha was looking and she found it to be the ER.
Faikha quickly wiped her tears and left. She left without answering her friends.
She went to the washroom and splashed water on her face. She had a dreadful feeling in the back of her mind.
She was worried. She could feel something wasn't right.
She went to her locker and took out her phone. It was her free time.
She quickly dialled Niyamath's number.
"Assalamu alaikum. Kya hua Faiks why are you calling me now?" he inquired.
"Walaikum assalam. Where are you Niyamath? Are you okay? Is everything alright?" she quickly retorted.
He could sense the panic in her voice.
"Hey relax I'm fine. I'm at home. You don't need to worry about me. Tell me what happened. What got you all panicked Faikha?"
"I don't know Niyamath. I feel something is not right. I feel like something bad is about to happen. I've been having this feeling since yesterday"
"Okay Faikha you need to calm down. Everything is alright"
"How do I calm down Niyamath. When ever I get this feeling some thing or the other happens. I've lost too much now" she was silently sobbing.
"Listen. I know up to this point things haven't worked out for you. You've put your heart on the line again and again and I know you feel empty. You've given Soo much in life and have always returned empty. You've sacrificed, you've fought, you've tried and yet again here you are questioning, wondering, doubting and maybe even losing hope.
But that's okay. It's totally alright. Allah has you where he wants you to be. He is moulding you. He's mending you and strengthening you Faikha. He is preparing you for something which you haven't had before. He's preparing for something you can't even imagine. He's preparing you for something that's going to make you look back and understand why He never let anything work before"
She pondered over her brother's words and she knew he was right.
Maybe she was worrying too much.
"Thank you for the little talk Nemo. Maybe you're right. When did you grow up little brother?"
"I was always the smart one Faikha. It's just that your dumb self saw it now. And I'm not the little one you keep referring to. And stop calling me that fish's name. It doesn't go with my personality"
"You will always be. You were born 5 mins after I was born. So you will always be the smaller one. And no not gonna happen"
"Oh come on Faikha I was born just 5 mins after you were born and not after 5 years" she knew he would be rolling his eyes right now.
She was thankful for having a twin.
She had lost her parents, the one she loved forgot her.
She always had a feeling of longingness even though she had Niyamath. But she knew that he also had a life and was busy in his studies and she couldn't trouble him. But sometimes talking to him would always cheer her up.
She knew he tried his best to entertain her and talk to her, but she also knew that he was busy with his own set of problems. So she didn't trouble him much.
She lifted her hands and prayed to her Rabb. "Dear Allah, if I lose hope today, please remind me that your plans are better than my dreams. Ya allah, give me eyes that see the best in people, a heart that forgives the worst, a mind that forgets the bad, and a soul that never loses faith"
Clearing her thoughts, she went out and joined the other interns.
"Tum theek ho? were you crying?" Sameer asked seeing her red puffy eyes.
"Haan Mai theek hoon. Arre nai Kuch chala gaya tha aankh me"
"Acha Chalo rounds par. Nahi toh ma'am gussa karengi" Zaira pulled both of them.
They were on rounds when they saw some nurses rushing with a stretcher. They were rushing to the ER.
Her instinct were right. She knew something was wrong and with time she was proved right with the sight in front of her.
Usne sahil ko saalon baad dekha. Uski duniya vahi ruk gayi Aur saasein tham gayi. Vo bhagkar usse Milna chahti thi par vo ruk gayi. Kyunki Uska koi haqq nahi tha Uspar.
But she couldn't control her emotions anymore and she ran towards the two.
Sahil and Nadir had been rushed to the hospital. Nadir was clutching on to his left arm tightly and was limping, whereas Sahil was on a stretcher. He was drifting to unconsciousness.
"Sahil. Nadir kya hua Sahil ko?" she asked checking his pulse.
She looked at sahil and she knew he was slipping into unconsciousness. She couldn't let that happen.
"You stay awake do you hear me? Don't you dare close your eyes. Please!" she was on the verge of crying but her doctor mode was all awake and she immediately rushed him to the ER. He gave her a smile and slipped into darkness.
He had a severe head injury along with some scratches here and there. She had bandaged him with the help of the Zaira and Sameer. Her hands were trembling while doing so.
"Do you know who he is?" sameer enquired looking at her skeptically.
"Dost hai vo mera" she stated sadly.
Aur Pyar bhi. But she didn't want to tell them this.
She excused herself and went to check up on Nadir. He had an hairline fracture on his left arm which was caused due to stressing or putting pressure on it. Other than that he was totally fine.
"Faikha is bhai alright? Will the accident affect his mental health?"
She knew these two brother loved each other a lot and were inseparable. They cared a lot about each other.
"I don't know Nadir. We will know once he wakes up and we will have to do some tests on him" she gave him a sad smile.
"The doctor's coat really suits you Faikha and it's really nice to see you after five years. You've been running from me as well" he had always adored her. He gave her a sad smile. She had not even tried meeting him once in the past 4 years.
"I'm not running away from you Nadir. It's just that I don't want to cause a trouble to anyone"
"I really wish bhai gets his memories back Faikha. I've seen him spacing out and he even asked me if he knew about a girl. Kash mai keh pata unhe tumhare baare me Lekin tumhe ne mujhe mana kiya hua tha" he looked down. He couldn't meet her eyes.
"Nadir. It's alright you do not have to feel sad for me. I do not want to affect his health which is why I had asked you"
Kaash jinko hum yaad the Aur pyare the, vo nahi bhulte hume.

It had almost been an hour and Sahil hadn't woken up. She went back to his room to check on him. She was checking on his reports.
Sahil blinked his eyes open and all he could see was brightness and white walls.
Sahil flung his feet to the floor and tried standing up but he failed miserably. He groaned with pain. Faikha was already present in his room and was examining the notepad filled with his details. She immediately rushed to his side.
"Wa.. Water" he tried speaking but his throat felt like sand paper and his head was spinning.
It hurt her to see him in pain.
He touched his head and noticed a bandage on his forehead. It was throbbing with pain. He held his head in his hands.
She passed him a glass of water. He hadn't looked at her yet and it pained her a lot to see him in this condition.
He started coughing profusely.
He looked at her and he felt as though he had seen her.
"Have we met before?" he asked trying to remember.
She wanted to tell him yes. She wanted to remind him everything but she couldn't risk it.
"I was your doctor when you had met with an accident last time. What is with you and accidents?" she quickly changed the topic.
"Who are you, really?" he knew he had seen her before. Somewhere else.
The door burst open and Nadir came along with his parents.
They were seeing her after 4 years. They gave her a sad smile and walked towards Sahil's bed and kept observing him.
"How long are y'all going to stand around my bed like a bunch of creepers?" Sahil questioned when nobody moved or even talked since he had woken up.
They were sad seeing him in the same place and we're dreading if he would have lost his memory completely as doctors had warned them.
She slowly walked out without anyone noticing. Her shift was almost over.
•*¨*•.¸¸☆*・゚
She went back home. She was too tired. It had been an overwhelming day for her.
Sometimes memories are the worst form of torture.
She entered her living room and saw Sajid sitting on the sofa and playing video game with Niyamath.
'Ya Allah when will these two grow up' she wondered.
"Assalamu alaikum Bajiiii" Sajid yelled.
"Walaikum assalam Sajid and stop yelling. It's not like you're seeing me after years. You're here most of the time playing with this 22 year old kid"
"Ab kya karun mai. After mom and bhai going to jail and after Abba's death it was just me and Shaziya Di. And apart from her I only have you both. Which is why I'm always here with you both. It's not like I don't like my sister's company anymore. I do like her and Alhamdulillah after everything happened, she truly changed. Which I'm glad about. But I only get homely vibes from you two" he sounded sad.
"Hey I'm not a kid anymore Fake Faiks and you're always welcome here Sajid" he slapped on sajid's shoulder.
"Yes you are Naughty Nemo. And Sajid I didn't mean it to some out in a bad way. You are always welcomed here Sajid. You've been my support system back then and I would love to be your support now" she passed him a smile which didn't reach her eyes and it did not go unnoticed by the other two.
"I'll let that awful nickname Slide away this time but what's wrong? Why do you look sad?" Niyamath asked lifting her chin.
And the dam broke down. She hugged her brother and cried her heart out.
"Faikha what happened? You're scaring me for the second time today" he pulled her away and asked her.
"Sahil and Nadir net with an accident. Sahil had a headache injury again and nadir has fractured his hand" her lips wobbled.
"Hey it's alright. They will be fine. Have faith in Allah. He won't let anything happen to both of them. Please don't cry"
He had become very sensitive when it came to his twin sister after what had happened 4 years ago.
"Acha forget about it let's go out and have dinner. Later we can even get you an ice cream" he tried lifting her mood.
She nodded and left to her room to get changed into something casual. She came out and saw both of then ready.
"Nemo?"
"Yes?"
"Can we please take shaziya along with us. She will be left alone" she asked with puppy eyes.
He still did not trust Shaziya after her planning and plotting against his sister. But he couldn't afford to make his sister sad again. So, he agreed.
•*¨*•.¸¸☆*・゚
They picked shaziya on the way. Niyamath completely ignored her. Shaziya sat with Faikha in the back seat.
After having dinner, they went to the have ice cream. Faikha's phone rang. She asked them to move ahead and told that she would be joining them after attending the call.
"Assalamu alaikum Faikha"
"Walaikum assalam. Sab theek toh hai na? Iss waqt Kyun call kiya?" she asked the other person on call.
And what she heard next shocked her and sent a chill down her spine.
