Hues of Black
The deafening silence holds tranquility to the mind
And opens the door for unwanted battles of thoughts
As you sit in your room where there is no wind to find
Going out is the least option in this cruel world full of bots
As the room turns grey, the familiar loneliness sips in
Like a blanket to protect the steady beat of your heart
Coloring the world in hues of black to conceal your skin
Yet people pursues to dig your grave for you to depart
Trapped in this room, the outside world is visible in screen
Where negativity spreads and fake news about you reeks
And the technicolor world displays you inside the sheen
Keyboard clicks louder and tears roll down your cheeks
"Does my color makes me a target?" you ask doubtfully
Inside the screen, sadness nor light laughter is not allowed
You call out with a small voice yet none listens truthfully
Silent tears continue to roll for it is scary to cry out loud
I think they are right - tongues can cut the skin with a word
Keyboard, mouse and phone can kill someone with sadness
I think they are right - pen indeed is a mighty sword
Yet little did they know, internet is the mightiest
Oh hues of black, when being born with hues of black!
Discrimination, racism, injustice, violence
Oh hues of black, when being born with hues of black!
Bullying, instability, still no one listens
For you who can't share sadness nor joy to the world
You, who is like a weak flower at the end of the cliff
For you who is restricted to grow with the meadow fold
You, who's happiness is slowly drifting like a leaf
I raise my hands up high and bestow upon the Lord
To pray that may God open doors for you to be happy
In your darkness, I will shine a light until you get old
and wish that may my hopes reach and lift you truly
