Chapter 6
Astrid ran to the gym, wanting to get there early to talk to her father. Luckily, she was the first one there. "Dad!" she called, quietly, so as to not alert anyone who might be passing outside. He comes out of his office and Astrid runs in, him following in confusion.
"How's your leg?" he asks.
"It's fine. Can I wear my sweat pants instead of the uniformed shorts?" she asks and he sighs.
"Don't they know what happened?" he asks.
"Well, yes, but I feel weird about showing anyone," Astrid says, rubbing her arms.
"You know what we're doing this quarter?" he asks and she shakes her head. He smiles. "Track," he whispers that one word and Astrid shoots to the locker room, changing faster than when their about to play dodge ball. She pulls her shirt over her head as the group walks in, gasping as they turn the corner and see her sitting there with a metal shin and foot. She looks at them, then her foot and back again. She then stands up and walks past them, glaring at Heather as she passes. She then leaves the LR and starts her warm ups. After a few minutes of that, everyone is out of the LRs and warmed up, Coach blows his whistle and they all line up at the door. Then, they go outside to the track and football field. "Okay, today we're going to be running and timing. Astrid, set the pace," Coach orders.
A few months later
Hiccup's P.O.V. (A/N: Yeah, you read me. Hiccup!)
I chuckled to myself as the girl cried and ran away. I'd just told her to buzz off and she has to get all emotional. What was her name? Jenny, or Juli, or something. (A/N: Her name was Shelly.) I sighed as I walked to the car my dad sent for me. My bags were already there, I just had to go to the airport and go home. To Berk! I had begun to wonder what has become of my friends. Especially Alex. She was my biggest crush when I went to Berk Elementary. She's also Top Girl which is hot. I had heard from Snotlout that she came back from Homeschooling about a year ago. She's gotta look so sexy now!
After the plane flight
"Ugh, I am so done with boarding schools!" I exclaimed as I got in the limo outside the airport.
"And a 'appy 'ello to ye too," my driver, Gobber chirps.
"It's good to see you again Gobber," I say as I strap my seat belt and he starts driving to my dads house.
"Still breakin' 'earts?" Gobber asks and I laugh.
"You know it Gobs!" He shakes his head and turns my favorite music on. I gasp, "You remembered!" He smiles at me through the rear view mirror as Carrie Underwood's voice rang in my ears. After 'Dirty Laundry' was finished playing, Gobber pulled into the driveway. Well, Berk is a pretty small town.
Next day (I'm really very sorry for all the time skips!!!)
I smiled at the door of my old school, holding my back pack on my shoulder by one strap. Hide your daughters, people. I walk through the door and look around the commons listening to the chatter that I missed so much. At the boarding school, there was only a bunch of whispering. This place was so loud, it would confirm that a deaf person could hear. "Is that Hiccup?!" I hear someone say before everything falls silent, all eyes turning to me. I glance around the room before bowing sarcastically.
"HICCUP!!!" Snotlout and the guys scream before running from their table and trying to dog-pile me. We all laugh as Snotlout and I wrestle, trying to push each other out the door. I finally throw him against the door and he falls outside. I bro-hug the others before the girls walk up, Heather in the lead instead of Alex.
"Long time no see, Hiccup," she says flirtatiously and I could tell Eret got a little jealous. So, their dating. I look at the guys as Juviani and Ruffnut winked at me. I return the wink and the girls around the commons squeal and scream.
"You're hot," Calica says and I run my fingers through my hair before smirking at her.
"Why thank you," I say before my eyes dart around the room, behind the girls. "Did Alex move or something? I don't see her," I say and they exchange confused glances.
"Oh! You must mean Astrid!" Snotlout finally says. That's her name! No idea where I got Alex from.
"Uh, yeah, sure. Where is she?" I ask and Heather steps in front of a table with a single girl at it, blocking my view.
"Astrid's not available. She...got in a plane crash! And she's been in a coma for a few weeks. No sign of waking up soon," she says and I instantly knew it was a lie so I decide to find Astrid later.
I shrug, "Okay." Heather then smirks.
"But I'm free," she says and Eret sighs.
"Okay. Juviani, wanna go out sometime?" he asks.
"Sure," she replies as if it's no big deal. Wow! I'm not the only one who's changed! I put my arm around Heather's shoulders and the group leads me to their table.
"Okay, so now that you're here, you can take my place as Top Guy," Snotlout says in relief.
"Um, okay?" I say in uncertainty. I sneak a glance at the girl at the table, alone. She had a blue hoodie, boot-cut jeans that were a dark navy blue, and black tennis shoes. Her hood was up and she seemed to be writing or something. I moved my head, trying to see her face but failing miserably. For some reason I found her interesting. Oh well. Soon, the bell rings and we go to class. I take a seat in the back, Heather sitting next to me. Soon, the Hoodie girl comes in and slams her hands on my desk.
"I don't care if your the newest and 'coolest' Bad Boy. No one sits in my desk," she growls. Why can't I see her face yet?!She's right in front of me! Heather grabs my arm and moves us over a seat.
"Her desk?" I ask in confusion as the girl sits next to me.
"She has her own seat claimed in every class. Stay away from the back corners if you know whats good for you," she warns and I glance at the girl to see her writing in a black binder.
"Astrid, I won't tell you again. Hood. Off," the teacher orders and I look around the room, seeing no one with a hood except the girl next to me. No! Way! She grumbles before taking her hood down to reveal her face...her beautiful, perfect face...
