To Join a Pack (Hiccup X Reader)
Hiccup and the other riders where exploring a new island when their lives were suddenly thrust into a danger they'd hoped never to encounter again; speed stingers. "So much for a discovering new dragons," Hiccup muttered as he stood with Snotlout, Fishlegs, and Astrid, three speed stingers closing in around them.
"Yeah, instead we had to find a bunch of needle butts!" Snotlout yelled in frustration.
Suddenly, Tuffnut's voice came in from above, "coming in hot, and blowing out snot!" Green gas enveloped two of the speed stingers, then sparked up, sending them flying in different directions.
"Now's our chance," Hiccup shouted as he and the others fled through the opening, "everyone, call your dragons!"
Within seconds, they were in the air. "That was close," Fishlegs sighed in relief.
"Yeah, you were almost a four course speed stinger dinner," Ruffnut added with a chuckle.
"Uh, are you sure it wasn't five course?" Tuff asked, pointing down to the ground again. Among the speed stingers was another person.
"Is that..a girl?" Snotlout asked in confusion.
Hiccup sighed stressfully, swooping Toothless back down toward the island, "we've gotta help her."
Hiccup and Snotlout were the only ones to land, just in case something were to go wrong again. You were standing against a tree trunk, surrounded by the three hissing stingers. But to Hiccup's surprise, you didn't look afraid at all..and the speed stingers seemed to be protecting you.
"Uh, Hiccup?" Snotlout panicked, "I don't think she needs our help."
"I see that, Snotlout," Hiccup assured him in an irritated voice. "Um, we're not here to hurt you," he called to you, only earning a couple warning hisses.
Finally, you moved. You walked past the stingers and approached the two young men with a look of curiosity. Standing infront of the dragons now, they backed off. "What..?" Hiccup breathed in pure shock.
You were just the height of the mint colored dragons. And absolutely beautiful. Hiccup began to ask,"h-hi, uh, can you--"
"Talk?" You finished for him."Who are you?" You asked. Snotlout and Hiccup exchanged a look before introducing themselves. You nodded and finally smiled, "I'm (Y/n)."
"You're part of their pack," Hiccup observed in disbelief. Then another question struck him, "where are the rest of them?"
You frowned at this. "Gone," you spoke sadly. "I lost my people, the same day they lost theirs," you explained, "it bound us together." The three dragons nuzzled your sides comfortingly, making you smile.
Many more questions were asked that day, until it was time for the riders to go home. But Hiccup couldn't stop thinking about you. So after a few days, he came back. And over time, the two of you grew closer, learning much about one another. Finally, Hiccup asked you to come to their home; Dragon's Edge.

"Good...impressive," Hiccup complimented as you and your three stingers went through a ground battle technique. You'd only been there for a few weeks, but you and the dragons had been progressing greatly. Everyone else was gathered to watch the show, too, after hearing Hiccup bragging about you all day. You seemed to be all he could talk about since the day you merged packs.
"This is so interesting!" Fishlegs marveled, "the way they work together..it's like they know what the others are thinking."
"Right?" Hiccup agreed, crossing his arms as he watched with an almost dreamy smile, "she's amazing."
Fishlegs and Astrid exchanged a look before Astrid piped in with a teasing smirk, "uh, I think he meant all of them, together."
Hiccup felt his cheeks blush lightly. "Wha-uh, yeah, no I kno-I knew that," he stuttered, turning his face away from the other dragon riders.
Finally, you finished your performance. Everyone showered you and the speed stingers with praise and compliments before leaving to go back to their daily business. After you set the stingers loose to run around freely for the rest of the day, Hiccup approached you.
"That was really..something else," he began with a nervous laugh.
"Thanks," you replied, smiling wide. Noticing Hiccup still staring at you as you combed your fingers through your hair, you blushed.
With a deep breath, Hiccup began, "I'm really glad you came here, you know?" You looked down to hide you pink cheeks as you smiled shyly. "I mean, being accepted into your pack, is an honor.." He trailed off, unsure what to say.
You could help but giggle at his nervousness. Finally meeting his green gaze, you responded, "and for you accepting us, I'm very grateful...we'll be stronger together."
Hiccup knew that she meant their group as a whole, but he couldn't stop his heart from fluttering. Face growing red, he looked away and chuckled, "y-yeah."
You peaked around to meet his eyes again, amusement in you smile. "You wanna do something later?" You asked a bit shyly.
Hiccup's eyes widened a bit as he responded with more confidence, "I'd love to."
With your own grin widening, you planted a surprise kiss on his cheek, "great; meet me in the club house at sunset." Then you raced away.
All Hiccup could do was watch you leave with dreamy eyes, muttering to himself, "club house at sunset." He couldn't wait.
