It had been a month since you started living at the outpost with the dragon riders. You were starting to get a hang of how to act human, and your English was getting much better. However, some things would never change. You were still a wolf pup at heart, and rather liked being treated as such when in wolf form.

You were outside of the twins' hut, prancing around with Chicken on this morning. You would chase her sometimes, then she would chase you. Needless to say, you were having an amazing day of play.

But as soon as you spotted Tuffnut exiting the hut, you stopped playing and turned to your human form. "Hey, Tuff," you greeted with an excited smile. As any puppy, just about everything excited you, and your energy was boundless.

Tuff smiled and ruffled your (h/l), (h/c) hair with a hand. "Hey, (Y/n)," he responded. Looking into your eyes, he saw your affection. It wasn't uncommon; you often looked at him as if he were your entire world. Because he was. Tuff was the one who introduced you to a new life. He'd accepted you for being a shape-shifter, and convinced Hiccup to let you become part of the group. And most of all, he did everything in his power to make you comfortable and happy.

"You have...training," you struggled to say, unsure if you'd spoken correctly.

Tuffnut smiled in amusement. "Yeah," he agreed, "and Hiccup would not be happy if I didn't show up again."

You giggled, recalling how you were the reason that Tuff would skip training from time to time. And it seemed to be happening more and more now. He loved spending time with you, helping to teach you English and playing around. That was what you loved most about him; Tuffnut was just as spontaneous and energetic as you.

But you didn't want Hiccup to yell at him, so you pulled him toward the ladder that led down from his hut's platform. "Go to training," you told him with  a sweet smile, "I wait, with Chicken."

Tuffnut smiled as you released his hand. "Good girl," he praised, ruffling your hair once again. You loved when he did that, even though it often left you with a mess of tangles. You gave him a quick hug before he could leave, something you did with just about every one of the riders. But it always felt more intense with Tuffnut. And whenever he hugged you back, your knees weakened.

Before letting him go, you kissed his cheek. This was not something you did with everyone. In fact, you'd never done it before at all. But it was something you'd seen Astrid do to Hiccup. And you'd asked her what it meant before. Astrid had told you that a kiss was something two people who were in love shared. And you were definitely in love with Tuffnut; you had been since you first met him.

Pulling back from him, you searched his face for a reaction. His cheeks flushed pink and eyes widened. You weren't sure what that meant.

"(Y/n), w-what was that for?" Tuff stuttered.

"For because...you make me happy," you explained. Longer sentences were still difficult for you, but you went on, "and warm..in my heart. You are fun...and good..to me."

Tuff felt his heart flutter. Now he really didn't want to go to training. But still, he did. However, not before planting a kiss on your cheek as well. "I'll be back soon," he assured you, then left. You watched him leave with a dreamy smile.

Tuffnut returned to his an his sister's hut after nightfall. Inside, on his half of the hut, he spotted you curled up on the floor in your wolf form. You were fast asleep right next to his bed, with Chicken snuggled into your fur. Tuff chuckled lightly; he was glad his two pets were getting along. Though it still felt odd, considering you were also human, to call you a pet. But even after becoming more used to your human form, you refused to take off your collar. It wasn't just a collar to you, but a gift, and a symbol of friendship between you and the male twin.

His small laugh woke you. You lifted your head sleepily and watched Tuffnut approach. He knelt on the ground in front of you and scratched behind your ear. You closed your eyes in bliss until he stopped. Turning to your human form, you sat criss-cross, Chicken in you lap still sound asleep.

"C-can we talk? Outside?" Tuff stuttered nerviusly.

You frowned in concern, but nodded. You placed Chicken softly on the ground and stood. Together, the two of you walked outside. Tuffnut led you to the stables, where he was sure no one would interupt or eavesdrop. The thing was, he couldn't get you off his mind, especially after you'd kissed his cheek. And he needed to express his feelings, because he felt like he might explode if he didn't.

Taking a deep breath, Tuff turned to you and began to talk. "Okay, I've never done--or, felt--um, I don't know how to--uh, um..." He trailed off after the failed attempt.

You cocked you head curiously, and took his hand. It was something you did often, just subconsciously. "Are you okay?" You asked him.

Tuffnut laughed weakly, averting his gaze. "I just...I need to know, why you, uh..kissed me, earlier," he manages to say. "I know you said it was because I make you happy, but..." He trailed off again.

For once, you knew exactly what he was trying to say. You smiled shyly and shuffled closer to him. "Because, I love," you told him.

Tuff's eyes widened as he looked at you in astonishment. "What, me?" He questioned. He definitely hadn't been expecting such a sudden confession. When you nodded, smiling innocently at him, his own smiled crept across his face. He wrapped his arms around you, hugging you tightly. "Oh my Thor," he breathed in excitement, "this is the best day ever."

When he pulled away just enough to see your face, he was immediately kissed right on the lips. It was a quick peck, and left both of you blushing. Tuffnut only smiled wider, leaning back into you for another kiss.

After pulling away, your eyes were wide with love and energy. "You love?" You asked him hopefully.

Tuffnut chuckled, hugging you close him again. "Yeah, I love."
