Like, seriously, is it? I binge watched a clip from httyd, and I noticed that Hiccup's drawing of Berk looked a lot like North America. I had to rewatch it to be sure, and then I wondered if anyone was going to notice that. Wait a sec... Is Berk near modern day Canada??? And then Dragon's Edge has a volcano! Is Dragon's Edge on the Mid Ocean Ridge?!?! Wait a sec... This will involve a ton of scientific reasoning. How long does it take to get to the Edge from Berk on dragonback? I would estimate about 12 hours. It most likely takes around thirteen hours because when you're on an airplane, travelling from say, Seatac to NYC takes about, let's say four hours (I have no idea how long it actually takes, so bear with me and my stupid time zone logic). Going in reverse, from NYC to Seatac, takes about five hours because of wind resistance and the coriolis effect. Dragons can travel really fast, so they could get to Berk pretty quickly in good weather, but when you add in lots of high winds, you have a recipe for disaster. Wait, where was I going with this?
