Valka- 

I'm very proud of how much my son has grown while I've been gone. I realized something that I've not noticed. Right after he became chief he kissed this beautiful young lady. When did he get a girlfriend?

Then I suddenly remember them talking a lot earlier. The way he looked at her, and she looked at him, there was a lot of love.

I'm gonna have to get him to introduce her.

Hiccup-

"Hi mom." I say as I close to door to the family hut. I notice she's eyeing me, like she wants to talk. I try to climb the stairs but she finally speaks.

"Who was that fine young lady from earlier?" she asks, a smile slowly making its way on her face.

I can feel myself blushing. 

"One of my friends. Her name is Astrid. And we're just friends."

I try to escape but she talks again.

"I don't think you're just friends, Hiccup."

I could feel my face warming up.

"She's my betrothed."

Silence took over the room, and my mom just stared.

"Whens the wedding?" she suddenly asks.

"We're not ready. Maybe another year or so. I don't know, I just want to wait until she's ready."

"How about you invite her over for dinner tomorrow so I can meet her."

I nod and head up to bed.

Astrid-

"What if she doesn't like me?" I ask, and Hiccup gives me a kiss.

"From what I heard her say last night, she loves you. Don't worry. Now c'mon, we gotta get going."

Hiccup took my hand and we walked down the paths to the Haddock hut. The moment I walk in Valka gives me a hug.

I hear her whisper in Hiccups ear, "She's beautiful."

We all have dinner and Valka takes me out to talk on the grass.

"I see how much Hiccup loves being with you. You two are perfect for each other."

I smile and nod.

"He always cheers me up. I really love him."

The moment I say love Valka's face lights up.

"I knew the moment I met Stoick that he was the one. I never doubted that ever since." she hugs me, "You're always welcome at the Haddock hut. Always."

I thank her and head back to my hut. It wasn't as bad as I thought.
