(RTTE Season 4)

It was a beautiful morning at the edge, the birds are chirping, the sun shining down, and the dragons flying around. A morning that everyone should be excited to start their day, everyone accept Hiccup.

Hiccup opens his eyes and instantly regretted it, his body was hurting, even his eyes. Hiccup groaned as he sat up, which took more energy than expected. Toothless head shot up as he got up, walking to Hiccup worried, "Morning bu-bu-bu-ACHOO-uhhhh bud" Hiccup Said only to get a worried coon as a reply "I'm fine Toothless, Ill meet you outside" Hiccup Said as he stood up, which was hard since he was swaying a lot. Toothless whimpered but listened to his rider, he left the hut and waited outside. Meanwhile the gang was already up and ready for action, all they need was there leader......Hiccup. "Urgh, where is he" Snotlout said, "He should be here by now" Fishlegs Said, "Somethings not right" Astrid Said as a worried Toothless entered the room "Hey T, what's up, do you know where H is?" Tuff asked. Toothless cooned in worry as he motioned everyone to follow him before dashing off, of course everyone followed Toothless to Hiccups hut, Toothless eyed the door as Astrid went up to the door and knocked "Hiccup?"......no reply, she tried again and still no reply "Ok now I'm worried" Astrid Said as Fishlegs started to panic. "I bet he's just asleep" Snotlout Said as Fishlegs shook his head "That's not like Hiccup, Snotlout. Astrid, check if the door is unlocked", Astrid did so as the door was unlocked, she walked in and motioned everyone to follow quickly but quietly "Are we SPYS!" Tuff Said as Ruff smacked him on the head, shutting him up. As the gang walked up the stairs with Toothless right behind them worried, Snotlout said "You guys are overreacting, Hiccup is probably just slept late last night, like sheesh" with that sentence he earned a glare from Astrid, shutting his mouth closed faster than lighting. When the gang reach Hiccup room, Astrid knocked, still nothing, so she opened the door and gasped. When the whole gang came in they had the same reaction too, Hiccup was on the floor, unconscious, breathing heavily and having a high fever. Toothless ran over and nudged his rider but all he got as a reply was silence, which made Toothless worry more, Astrid ran over and checked Hiccups pulse, it was still strong but weaker than normal, she sighed in relief, she put her hand on Hiccups forehead and looked up at the gang "He's got a fever. Fishlegs get two buckets, one empty and one filled with cold water also bring a cloth." Astrid ordered as Fishlegs nodded before leaving, Astrid looked at the twins and Snotlout "You guys go get Gobber, Gothi and Stoick" Astrid ordered, the twins nodded and ran off as Snotlout followed. Astrid smiled that everyone was following her orders but her smile faded when she heard Hiccup start coughing, before going limp again, Astrid looked at Toothless "Toothless help me get him into bed" Astrid asked as Toothless nodded. As Hiccup was placed in bed Astrid sat next to him, letting her fingers run thru Hiccups hair, Astrid smiled as she heard someone enter the room she looked to the door to find Fishlegs "I've got the empty bucket" Fishlegs told Astrid as he placed it next to her feet "and the cloth and bucket filled with water" Fishlegs said as he placed it next to Astrid feet and gave Astrid the cloth, Astrid nodded and thanked Fishlegs, she dipped the cloth in the cold water and took it out, squeezing the water out and placed it on Hiccups forehead making him shift in his sleep. Astrid looked at Fishlegs "Can you get some hot soup for when he awakes" Astrid asked as Fishlegs nodded and left, she looked at Hiccup already missing his forest green eyes, Astrid sighed as she looked thru the window getting lost in her own world. Toothless lied next to Hiccups bed watching his every move which really was just breathing, Toothless sighed and laid his head down, closing his eyes. Everything was quite until a groan was heard from Hiccup, his eyes fluttered open revealing his forest green eyes, Toothless head shot up as he walked to Hiccups side, Astrid snapped out of her little world and looked down at Hiccup with a smile "Hey there Hiccup, how you feeling" Astrid Asked, Hiccup sat up only to be pushed down by Astrid "Urgh, horrible" Hiccup answered as he looked at Astrid "Astrid, where's dad?" Hiccup asked "Uhhhh Stoick he's coming" Astrid replied as Hiccup nodded with a smile. Toothless cooned catching Hiccups attention "Hey there *cough* Toothless" Hiccup Said as he petted Toothless only to get a purr as a answer making the sick Viking chuckle. Astrid grabbed the cloth and socked it again before placing it on Hiccups forehead again, Hiccup looked at Astrid and smiled "When's dad coming?" Hiccup asked "He should be here by tomorrow" Astrid replied as Hiccup frowned "Why not now?" Hiccup asked "Because Stoick lives on Berk, far away from the Edge. Hiccup you know this" Astrid Said but the reply she got was not what she expected "WE DON'T LIVE ON BERK" Hiccup yelled sitting up, only to cough and fall off the bed, thankfully Toothless caught him and placed him back on bed, Astrid looked at Hiccup and nodded "Hiccup, we live on Dragons Edge, remember" Astrid Said as she made Hiccup lie down again before placing the cloth on his forehead, Hiccup looked at Astrid confused "What's Dragon Edge?"

Back On Berk

Snotlout and the twins landed on Berk, it took them half of a day to get there so they would reach the Edge bytomorrow. Snotlout jumped off Hookfang as Gobber walked up to them "Ah Snotlout and the twins, what brings you to Berk and where's Hiccup?" Gobber Asked "Astrid sent us here to get you, Gothi and Stoick" Snotlout replied as Gobber looked at the three confused "And why do you need us" Gobber Asked "H is sick, like really sick, did anyone see how pale he was" Tuff replied as Ruff said "He was pale and he had bags under his eyes like he didn't get a good night sleep" and as always the twins head butted each other. Gobber looked at the three "Hiccups sick!?" Gobber explained as Snotlout nodded "Ill get Gothi, you guys get Stoick" Gobber ordered before running off, Snotlout nodded and turned to the twins to find them fighting..... over a rock, he sighed "Will You two stop that! Sheesh" Snotlout yelled/Said as he got on Hookfang and flew off, the twin looked at each other before dropping the rock and getting on Barf and Belch and flew after Snotlout "WAIT FOR US"

At the Edge

Astrid looked at Hiccup shocked "Dragons Edge Hiccup, do you not remember?" Astrid Asked as Hiccup shock his head 'no', Fishlegs came in "Astrid I've got the soup and Hiccup you awake" Fishlegs happily said, Hiccup nodded as he sat up. Fishlegs gave Astrid the bowl of soup as she started feeding Hiccup, but Hiccup being the stubborn boy he is refused to eat the soup, Astrid frowned "Hiccup eat" Astrid ordered but Hiccup still denied the soup "Let me eat it myself" Hiccup Said But Astrid shook her head 'no' "You might drop it now eat" Astrid Said But Hiccup refused again, Astrid sighed, Fishlegs already left thinking that he should go patrol the island. "Hiccup please" Astrid Said But Hiccup still refused, which made Astrid mad she got up, catching Toothless's attention "Fine! If you won't eat then you won't eat at all" Astrid hissed before leaving, her anger got the best of her as she left the sick Hiccup and now hungry Hiccup alone, Hiccup sighed and simply scratched Toothless before falling asleep.

At Berk

After some looking around Snotlout and the twins found Stoick "Look there he is!" Tuff yelled "We know" Ruff yelled as they landed, Stoick looked up at them before looking around, the three walked up to Stoick as he asked "Where's the rest of your gang" "There back at the Edge dealing with a problem and we need you to come, along with Gothi and Gobber But Gobber is already getting her" Snotlout Said, Stoick face became serious "What type of problem" he asked, Snoutlout was about to answer when the twins bested him to it "Hiccups the problem" Tuff Said "Ya, he's sick" Ruff said, Stoick expression became worried "Let's go then" Stoick Said as he mounted his dragon and flew off. Snotlout and the twins followed as they picked up Gothi and Gobber, beginning their flight to Dragons Edge

The Edge

Astrid calmed down as she realized her mistake, she left Hiccup starving, she scolded herself before grabbing some more soup and ran back to Hiccups hut, when she entered his room she found him asleep, his hand over Toothless's head as Toothless rested his head on the bed, asleep. Astrid smiled at the adorable moment as she placed the soup on the table, grabbed the cloth wetting it again before placing it on Hiccups forehead, Astrid smiled before resting her head gently on Hiccups chest "Goodnight Hiccup" She said before falling asleep. Fishlegs was already asleep with Meatlug since it was getting late. Hiccups eyes slowly opened as he yawned, he looked to the side to find his hand resting on a sleeping Night Fury's head, he chuckled but froze when he felt something on his chest, Hiccup looked down to see Astrid in a peaceful sleep , Hiccup smiled. Astrid groaned as she woke up, she opened her eyes and instantly remembered where she was, she looked up to see a smiling Hiccup looking at her, Astrid got up blushing but it faded as he asked "How you feeling?" "Better but everything still hurts and I'm extremely hungry" Hiccup Said weakly as his stomach growled. Astrid gasped as the starving Hiccup was her fault, she looked at the bowl of soup which was now cold "I'll go get you something" she said, and before Hiccup could say anything else she dashed off, grabbing the cold soup on the way. Hiccup looked at Toothless and gently took his hand off his head as he stayed asleep, he got up and leaned on the wall for support before coughing and then sneezing. Astrid came back with some food, she entered Hiccups room to find Hiccup leaning against the wall, breathing heavily, she frowned, Astrid placed the food down and practically dragged Hiccup back to bed, she sat down and began feeding Hiccup but the same thing happened again. Hiccup refused to eat, Astrid hissed and was about to try again when Fishlegs came in, waking up Toothless, the dragon growled at the cubby viking, Fishlegs backed away and apologized the the dragon as the Night Fury went back to sleep in his corner of the hut. Astrid looked at Fishlegs "Whats up?" She Asked "There here" Fishlegs Said before leaving, Astrid got up and looked at Hiccup "Stay" she walked a bit before looking back at him "Here, urgh you know what I mean" before leaving Hiccup alone. Astrid walked next to Fishlegs as the Vikings dismounted their dragons, Stoick walked up to Astrid "Where's my boy?" He asked "He's in the hut and he won't eat, plus he keeps asking me when dads coming, also known as you" Astrid Said, Stoick sighed as he walking to Hiccups hut, the others followed. Hiccup lied in bed as he looked at the ceiling, thinking, he let out a cough and sighed before hearing the door open, Hiccup turned his head to see the gang, Gothi, Gobber and "DAD!" Hiccup yelled with a smile as he got up. Stoick chuckled as he sat on Hiccups bed "Yes son, it's me", Hiccup hugged Stoick. Astrid looked at the two "Why does Hiccup want you so bad" She Asked as she gave Stoick the food "And make him eat", Stoick chuckled and started feeding Hiccup, who ate with a smile "I really don't know, this happens everything he's sick. He'll call for me and he won't listen or do anything unless I do it" Stoick asked, "The lad never told us why, maybe he can tell us after he gets better" Gobber said, "He's just a baby" Snotlout said as Stoick and Astrid glared at him. "We can try asking now" Tuff requested "Ya, when he's all loopy" Ruff said, Astrid thought for awhile before saying "That's not a bad idea" she turned to Hiccup "Hiccup why do you call for dad so much?" She asked, Toothless was up from all the noise and listening in. Hiccup finished his food and looked up at Astrid then his dad who nodded, he looked back at the gang his vision was blurry so he couldn't clearly see the three other vikings behind Fishlegs and Astrid but answered "Well, when I was 5 I got sick, and dad was out doing chief work. He didn't really notice, I stayed home in my room when I heard the door open from downstairs, I smiled thinking it was dad so I ran downstairs ignoring my fever, but what I saw wasn't dad. It was the twins and Snotlout, like always I was dragged off into the forest and my fever wasn't helping, they laughed and threw me into a lake before running off. Back then I didn't know how to swim so I was drowning and the cold water made my fever worse, I thought I was gonna die that day but a Thunderdrum saw me, it didn't attack me but helped me to the surface, I thanked it and practically dragged myself back home, everything was hurting. From that day on I was to scared to be alone without someone, thinking that the twins and Snotlout would come back, so I call for dad" Hiccup finished. It was silent before a nervous chuckle was heard, they look towards the sound to find it coming from Snotlout "I forgot about that" he said "Yaaaaaa" the twins said, Astrid frowned "Apologize" Astrid said as Stoick looked at Gobber "How did I not know about this" he asked, "I don't even know" Gobber replied. Snotlout and the twins walked up the Hiccup, Hiccup looked up, clearly seeing them, his smile faded as his eyes shrank, he hid behind Stoick in fear, Stoick looked at Hiccup then the twins and Snotlout "Looks like he's too scared, apologize when he gets better" Stoick said as the twins and Snotlout nodded, Astrid looked at them "You guys might wanna leave" she said, they nodded and left. Toothless was beside Hiccup, Hiccup smiled before coming out from behind his dad, Stoick looked at Hiccup "Gothis gonna check up on you, ok?" He said as Hiccup nodded, Gothi checked Hiccup and wrote down on the dirt, Gobber read "He will be fine in a few days, just make sure he gets rest, eats and make him take this medicine. Once every morning and once every flight. Flight? Why every flight?" Gobber asked before getting hit in the head by Gothi, "Ow, ohhh, night, once every night" Gobber said as everyone nodded. Gothic gave the medicine to Stoick as Gothi and Gobber began to leave "Gobber, I trust the village in your hands till I get back" Stoick told Gobber as he nodded and "Hope Hiccups gets better" Gobber said before leaving. Stoick smiled as he looked at Hiccup, Astrid and Fishlegs left already as Toothless fell asleep again, knowing his rider is safe, which left the two alone for a father and son moment. The twins and Snotlout flew Gobber and Gothi back to Berk as Astrid and Fishlegs brought Skullcrusher to his pen.

A week past and Hiccup was feeling much better, he thanked his dad as he stood next to Toothless and the gang as they said there goodbyes, as Stoick was about to leave he looked back at the twins and Snotlout, giving them a glare before smiling and riding off. The twins and Snotlout knew what the glare meant as they walked up to Hiccup "Hey H" Tuff said, Hiccup looked at the three with a smile "We wanted to apologize" Snotlout said, Hiccup looked at them in confusion "For what?" He asked "For back when you were 5 and we threw you into the lake" Ruff answered, Hiccup froze then smiled "Apologize accepted" he said, the three faces brightened up "Really" they said as Hiccup nodded "Really" he replied "Now who wants to race" Hiccup yelled as he jumped on Toothless a shot into the air with the gang close by and Hiccup smiling brighter than ever.
