Wedding part 2

Hiccup woke with a start, his eyes wide.
He's getting married today.
To Astrid.
The love of his life.
Oh gods.

He hopped out of bed and walked downstairs to see Asmund, Spitelout, and Gobber all there already.

"You're finally up, Lad." Asmund said and patted Hiccup on the back.

"Y-Yeah." Hiccup stuttered. Asmund laughed.

"You don't have to be nervous around me, Son. Do you think I would let you date my daughter much less marry her if I didn't like you? I don't bite." He said. "Besides we'll be family in two hours.

"Two hours!? Two hours?" Hiccup freaked. "Where's my outfit!?"

"Chill out, boyo. It's right there." Spitelout pointed at the table. Hiccup walked over to the table, took the clothes off of it, and walked to the washroom.

LINE BREAK—-

Once he was dried he got dressed. He left the fur cape off for now and walked out into the living room. Then his mom burst through the door.

"Hiccup-" she saw her son standing in his wedding outfit, cape in his hands, and eyes bright. She covered her mouth with her hand that wasn't occupied. "-oh Hiccup. You look so handsome." She said. Hiccup rubbed the back of his neck.

"Thanks Mom." He smiled. "So shouldn't you be with Astrid?"

"That's actually what I came to ask you about." Valka said. "So she was-"

"She was what!? Does she not want to get married?" He freaked....again.

"Oh gods no. She's ecstatic. She was just wondering if you had her flower crown done." Valka laughed. Hiccup visibly relaxed then nodded.

"Yeah. Yeah. I have it done." He walked upstairs and grabbed the crown then handed it to his mom once he came down the stairs. Valka studies it. The crown was made of white and pink flowers that matched the weddings colors perfectly.

"It's beautiful, Hiccup." Valka whispered. "She finished yours last night." Valka handed it to him. Hiccup smiled at it. It was made out of green leaves and white flower buds. "Now, I'll be on my way." Then she walked out the door.

"Now what do we have to do?" He asked.

With Astrid-

Valka came in the door while my mom and Ayala were dressing me. "I got the crown!" She set it in my hands and I gasped.

"It's beautiful!" I said. "Also what took you an hour?"

"I know. He loved yours too." Valka said. " And What took me so long? I had to get some oils and stuff for your hair. Anyway since you're dressed let's get your hair done. Then it's time to go wed you."

"How much time do we have?" I asked, nervously.

"About a half an hour." She said. I sat on the stool and felt Valka brushing my hair. Then feeling oils and liquids in my hair I had to let it dry. After it dried I was told to hold my hair up then my white fur cape was placed of my shoulder, gold clips with Nadder signs on them holding it in place. Then the flower crown was placed on my head.

"Oh,Astrid, you look gorgeous!" Ayala said.

"Truly sent from Valhalla." Valka smiled at me.

"Oh, that's my daughter!" My mom cried and hugged me. "Your getting so grown up!" I smiled.

"Well it's time! Everyone's crowding in the Village square!" Valka exclaimed, looking out the window. I bit my lip. The town square is where Stoick's statue was placed with a carving of Hiccup and Toothless. Below it is a stone step that leads to a stone platforms where Hiccup and I will be standing. I nodded and we walked out of my hut and into the Great Hall. Ruffnut walked up to me.

"Hiccup's already out there and waiting. See you out there. Oh and here's the bouquet." She handed me the flowers. She gave me a small hug before going to stand in the front row along with my mom, Valka, and Ayala.

"Ready?" My dad said. My hands shook but I nodded. I hooked my arm through his and the doors opened. The New Berk band started playing and the choir ready to sing. (Like in the movie ya know? The music?)

I took a deep breath as the villagers turned to look at me. Hiccup caught my eye and my breath hitched. He looked... no words to explain it. I gulped and my dad and I started to walk down the isle. We made it to the front and Gobber grabbed the flowers.  and I stepped on to the platform. My dad stood by my mom in the front. Hiccup reached his hands out, I looked down at them nervously, then looked up and smiled at him. I grabbed his hands.

Hiccup-

She grabbed my hands and I rubbed my thumbs over the top of her hand. Gothi wrote down: vows in the sand. I took a deep breath.

"I know you hated me when we were younger but I'm glad you warmed up to me. I know that there were times when I took you for granted or didn't appreciate all you do for me but eventually I come around. I remember our one couple fight about the betrothal necklace and I still feel bad to this day. I just wanted to repeat something." I took a breath then smiled when I saw tears in her eyes and a soft smile on her lips. "I couldn't do anything without you, Astrid. You've always been there for me and I always want to be there for you. I love you, Astrid Hofferson. With everything I have and I always will." Astrid pulled her hand away from mine and wiped her eyes before taking my hand again.

"You're making me cry, Babe." She said. The Village laughed. "Yes, I did hate you. Yes, I was mean to you. But the reason for that? Because I used to let violence get in the way of my feelings. I've liked you since we were ten. I just didn't let myself believe it. I've loved you after you showed me that peace between dragons and human exists. We've been through so much together. Battles. Wars. Fights. I remember when Viggo held me captive and he asked you if you would give up your future for the dragon eye. I tried to tell you no but you threw it, full on knowing that it may not make it into the volcano, so I'd be safe. Babe, I'd be stupid not to spend the rest of my life with you. Now it's my turn to say what I was going to say before you shut me up with that kiss." She squeezed my hands. "You're right. We don't have to be like them. We have a different kind of relationship. And it doesn't matter anyway because I love you too. Always have and always will. I'd be more than happy to spend the rest of my life beside you." She finished and my eyes filled with tears.

Gothi wrote: Astrid Hofferson, do you agree to marry Hiccup Haddock and become his wife?

She looked up to me and nodded. I smiled lovingly at her.

Gothi then wrote: Hiccup Haddock, do you agree to marry Astrid Hofferson and become her husband?

I nodded. Gothi places a gold wedding cloth over her hands.

Gothi: You may now kiss.

I stepped forward the same time she did and put lips connected. After a second we pulled away slightly, I put my hand on her jaw bone, and out lips came together again. Cheers erupted throughout the square.

"To The Chief And Chieftess!" Gobber shouted and I smiled into the kiss. I few seconds later we broke apart and smiled at each other. We turned towards the crowd, out fingers laced together. Gobber three the flowers and Eret caught them and smiled. Snotlout wiped a tear away. Tuffnut Hughes him.

"Come, cry into my thick full beard." I chuckled. Fishlegs was crying.

"Oh it's so beautiful!" He cried and turned to Ruffnut.

"Ugh gross." She said Then Fishlegs hugged her. "Alright. You win. I like sensitive guys." She hugged back. I smiled. Astrid turned to me and wrapped her arms around my waist and smiled up at me.

"I love you." She said. I ran a hand through her hair and pecked her lips.

"I love you too." I said back.

"What do ya say? Dinner and celebrating?" My mom asked.

"Hold on, let's go to that cliff over there first." I said she nodded and we all walked up there.

I held Astrid's hand but let go and wrapped my arm around her shoulders. She leaned her head on my shoulder and we stood there for the next five minutes before Gobber announced it was time to eat.

Astrid and I sat at the head table while we ate but then the New Berk band started strumming a random slow tune. Once they were done eating the Villagers practically pushed us out of our chairs and on to the dance floor. I put my hands on her hips and her arms wrapped around my neck. We swayed to the music. Soon more people started dancing and Astrid's dad tapped her shoulder. Astrid lifted her head from my chest and looked at him.

"Will you dance with me?" He asked. Astrid smiled and went to dance with her father while I sat down and watched my wife dance with her father.

Woah. My wife.
I'm married.

Fishlegs sat next to me. "Whatcha thinking about?" He asked.

"That I'm married and Astrid's my wife." I laughed. Fishlegs patted me on the back, chuckled, and walked towards Ruffnut.

Astrid-

I danced with my dad.
"So are you nervous?" He asked.

"Nervous for what?" I really wasn't nervous for anything.

"Being the Chieftess. Becoming a mother in, I don't know when. Being married." He listed. I shook my head.

"No, I'm not nervous. As long as I'm with Hiccup I'll be fine." I said. He smiled at me then cleared his throat.

"Don't count on him all the time, Astrid. He may leave you one day. He could be at a Chief meeting. He may fall out of love with you. He may die-" I cut him off.

"Don't talk about my boy- husband like that." I quickly fixed my mistake.

"Your mother wasn't always here for me. I'm just warning you." He said.

"Hiccup isn't like every Viking spouse, Okay? He won't leave me. He's too loyal. I would go with him to Chief meetings because I am now the Chieftess. And don't talk about him dying please. He's had so many close calls I just don't want to think about it." I said and I stopped dancing. I walked over to where Hiccup was sitting and sat next to him. I laid my head on his shoulder.

"Hey." He said.

"Hey." I replied. Then the band started playing a familiar tune and Hiccup jumped up.

"I have to find my mom." I laughed as he ran towards Valka.

Hiccup-

"Mom?" I tapped her shoulder. He turned towards me. "Will you dance with me?" She must have recognized the tune because she feared up and nodded.

Astrid-

I was watching Hiccup with a smile on my face when a drunk teen Viking sat next to me. Oh great.

"Hey there, Princess." He slurred.

"Don't call me that." I glared.

"You're beautiful. You know that?" He asked scooting closer to me.

"Yup. My husband tells me everyday." I said. He placed a hand on my thigh. "Get your hands off me."

"No because I'm interested in you." He said and out his face close to mine. I backed away a little. "And what your husband doesn't know won't hurt him."

"You do realize that you're at my wedding, right?" I said backing away.

"Am I? Oh I don't care." He said and moved his hand up my side. I glared.

"Do you want me to break your arm?" I asked sickly sweet. "Because I will."

"I don't think you will." He said reaching for my- you know. I tried backing away but he grabbed my head and smashed his alcohols covered lips into mine. I pushed away stood and, you know. Broke his arm and punched his nose. He screamed and fell backwards. Everyone turned to us. I was breathing hard and wiping my lips off with my sleeve.

"Yuck." I whispered. I grabbed a cloth and water and wiped my mouth. I threw the cup down and stormed out of the Hall. I sat down on the steps and glared at the ground.

Hiccup-

Astrid stormed out of the Great Hall. After the door closed I ran out after her. I looked around and saw Astrid sitting on the steps glaring at the ground. I walked over to her, sat down, and wrapped an arm around her. She leaned into my side.

"What happened?" I gently asked. She shook her head so I stood, sat behind her so she was between my legs, and wrapped my arms around her shoulders. "What happened?" I asked again gently rubbing her arms. She leaned into my chest, her back against my chest.

"Gustav." She said. (😂)

"Gustav? You broke his arm? Why?" I asked.

"He got too close. Put his hand on my thigh. I told him I'd break his arm. He told me I wouldn't. He kissed me and reached for you know. So.. I broke his arm and punched him in the nose." She shrugged. Though I was mad at Gustav I laughed at her. I nuzzled her hair with my nose.

"You're awesome." I said.

"I know." She replied and laughed. I stood.

"You wanna go back in?" I peeked through a window. "They took Gustav to his hut." She stood and wrapped her arms around my neck. I wrapped mine around her waist. She leaned her forehead against mine, eyes closed.

"You're my husband now." She whispered. "It's still processing in my brain."

"You're my wife now and same here." I whispered back. I opened my eyes at the same time she opened hers. I started into her ocean blue eyes then leaned down and kissed her. I pulled her closer to me and deepened the kiss. Our lips moved in sync but we were interrupted.

"Yo lovebirds! Save that for later tonight!" Tuffnut yelled. I blushed and so did Astrid.

"I forgot about that part." She laughed and we walked back into the Great Hall to enjoy the rest of their wedding night.

The end.
