Wedding part 1
You know how HTTYD 3 kinda went straight to the ceremony? Yeah this is what happened right after the dragons *sobs* left and after the wedding. From getting read to the birth of their two kids. May be a little OOC in the beginning.
Hiccup and Astrid held hands as they watched the dragons fly away while the rest of Berk watched from behind them. Once the dragons were out of sight Hiccup turned to Astrid and wrapped his arms around her waist and buried his face in the crook of her neck. Astrid wrapped one arm around his shoulders while the other hand combed through his auburn hair. He pulled away with two tears falling down each cheek and she wiped them away. He smiled at her, leaned in, and pressed a kiss to her lips. They pulled away and turned to the villagers. Hiccup cleared his throat.
"So, uh, I guess we go and rebuild Berk." Hiccup announced and Astrid gave his hand a comforting squeeze. Everyone started walking towards New Berk.
"On a positive note," Astrid smiled at her and swung their laced hands between them, "we are getting married in a couple days." Hiccup nodded.
"Yeah." Hiccup deadpanned, no excitement in his eyes what so ever. Astrid frowned and stopped walking and pulled her hand away from his. He turned to her to see hurt and anger in her eyes. She placed her hands on her hips.
"Aren't you excited? Because if you don't want to get married we don't have too. I kno you're upset about Toothless but that shouldn't get in between us. So don't take it all out on me." She glared and walked away. Hiccup watched his girlfriend storm off towards the village and out of sight. He smacked his forehead.
"Way to go Hiccup." He muttered to himself before he ran after her. He ran up to his mother who was talking to Gobber. "Mom, have you seen Astrid?"
"She went to the cliff you guys jumped off of." Valka said and pointed to the general direction. Hiccup thanked his mom and ran to the cliff. He slowed his pace as he saw Astrid sitting, her back facing him, knees pulled up to her chest with her arms around them as her head laid on them. Hiccup sat next to her and pulled one leg up to his chest, laid an arm on it, and his other leg splayed out in front of him.
"I'm sorry." Hiccup said gently. Astrid turned her head to him. "I-I know that Toothless leaving shouldn't get between and I just- Ugh."
"I know. I know it's hard, Hiccup. It's hard on all of us. Let's go back and eat dinner." She said, stood up, and grabbed Hiccup's hand.
Together they walked back to the village.
LINE BREAK---
Everyone had changed out of their armor and were seated at The Great Hall for dinner. As Hiccup and Astrid sat across from each other, eating, Gobber walked over to them. Hiccup stood and looked at the older viking with a questioning look. He was about to ask what he was doing when Gobber held Hiccup's arm in the air.
"The Chief is marrying in two days!" Gobber shouted happily and was soon joined with cheers. Hiccup sat down, cheeks red, and continued eating.
LINE BREAK---
It was the day before the wedding and everyone was going crazy. People were decorating with blue, white, cream, and a light pink that matched the newly fallen snow. In the Hofferson residence Kiara Hofferson, Valka Haddock, and Ayala Jorgenson were fussing around Astrid's wedding dress while the young woman sat on her bed bored.
"I'm thinking long sleeves." Valka announced. Kiara shook her head.
"No, short sleeves." Kiara argued.
"I think sleeves to the elbows." Ayala said back. They kept arguing until Astrid stood in between the three woman.
"I'm thinking this." She showed them the picture of the wedding dress that she had been drawing minutes before. The three vikings looked it over before nodding and agreeing.
"What colors, Dear?" Valka asked as Kiara looked through the colors.
"White for the dress, cream for the middle strip, and gold for the cuffs and belt." Astrid told them. Kiara took out the fabrics and got to work. Astrid laid down on her bed, staring at the betrothal necklace that Hiccup gave her when they were 18. Valka sat down next to Astrid as Kiara and Ayala started arguing about cross stitching.
"They fight a lot, don't they?" Valka asked. Astrid tore her eyes away from the necklace.
"Jorgensons have always annoyed the Hoffersons. Hoffersons have always hated the Jorgensons." Astrid told her future mother-in-law.
"Snotlout and you seem to be good friends." Valka noticed. Astrid snorted.
"Didn't used to be. I just put up with him because he's Hiccup's cousin then I came to be frenemies with him." Astrid looked back at the necklace. Valka noticing the nervousness on her face laid a gentle hand on her shoulder.
"What is it?"
"I didn't used to be friends with Hiccup either." Astrid admitted. "I kinda used to hate him." Valka laughed.
"I know, Dear. Hiccup tells me the stories." Valka laughed and Astrid joined. Then Valka saw the necklace and her face turned grim. Astrid noticed and she gave Valka the necklace to look at. "Where did you get this?"
"It's my betrothal gift from Hiccup. He gave it to me on the Edge when we were 18." Astrid told the older woman. Valka smiled and handed her soon to be future daughter-in-law. Valka stood from the bed and began to help make the dress as Astrid day dreamed of her wedding tomorrow.
--------------------------------
In the Haddock residence, Spitelout Jorgenson, Gobber, and Asmund Hofferson were fussing about his outfit for the wedding while Hiccup sat on the edge of his bed, bored.
"I'm thinking short sleeves." Asmund said. "Show his muscles."
"The lad doesn't have much muscle. I think baggy long sleeves." Gobber said.
"I think tight long sleeves." Spitelout argued. Hiccup had enough about the fighting and gave them a paper of his outfit. The boys nodded and got to work as Hiccup stared at the ceiling thinking of his wedding day tomorrow.
Gods, he's marrying the love of his life tomorrow.
Part 2 coming.
