Hiccup fired his arrow and it landed on his fathers ship sending it into flames.

Valka looked at Astrid who nodded and then they all released their arrows.

"I'm sorry... Dad." Hiccup said and blinked a few times. Astrid sighed and smiled at the sky. "I'm not the Chief you wanted me to be. I'm not the peacekeeper I thought I was. I...don't know." He took a deep breath and sighed and looked down. Valka walked up to him and ran her hand through his hair.

"You came early into this world. You were such a wee thing." She told her son. She placed a hand on his shoulder looked at him. "I feared you wouldn't make it. But you're father never doubted." She moved in front of him and placed her hand son his shoulder. "He always said you would become the strongest of them all and he was right." Valka placed her hand on his cheek. "You have a heart of a Chief and a soul of a dragon. Only you can bring our worlds together. That is who you are, son." Valka went back to her place beside the others and Hiccup took a couple steps forward.

"I, Uh, was so afraid of becoming my dad. Because I thought I never could. H-how do you become someone that great. That...selfless. I guess you can always try." Hiccup took a deep breath. ( this is where I'm changing it up a bit. ) "I never got to tell you. Mostly because we didn't get along and didn't have a lot of time before this. I love you, Dad. I wanted to spend more time with you and get to know each other better. I thought you'd be there to help me through Chiefting and fatherhood when I got there. I will try my best for you... I promise." Hiccup was crying now, and looking at the burning ship.

Astrid noticed his shaking shoulders and walked up to him. She laid her head on his shoulder and wrapped her arms around his middle. He turned towards her and wrapped his arms around her holding her right. He buried his face in the crook of her neck. Astrid held him while he cried. When he was done they pulled away and he wrapped an arm around her waist and she did the same to him.

Snotlout decided to walk up to his cousin. He stood next to Hiccup and put an arm around the taller boys shoulder. Hiccup smiled a watery smile and wrapped his left arm that wasn't around Astrid around his cousins shoulder. Snotlout even let a few tears fall. Well he should, it was his uncle that died. So, Snotlout let tears escape his stubborn eyes.

Ruffnut noticed her friends and knew they all needed each other. They were all going through this. Together. She walked up to them and wrapped an arm around Snotlout who in return wrapped an arm around her shoulders. Ruffnut too let out a few tears at her Chief's death.

Tuffnut followed his twin sister up beside everyone and wrapped an arm around her shoulder and she wrapped one around his waist and laid her head on his shoulder. Tuffnut started crying too.

Fishlegs walked up to them and wrapped an arm around Tuffnut's shoulder and the smaller boy wrapped his arm around Fishleg's back. Fishlegs looked at each and every one of them. They've been through too much together. He knew they all needed each other right now. He knew they needed to comfort their hurting friend. He looked at Astrid and saw her trying not to cry for her boyfriend's sake.

He looked at Hiccup to see him looking st the boat with tears falling down his cheeks.

Snotlout looking at his uncles burning boat. He was biting his lip, eyes filled with tears, and squeezing his cousins shoulder.

Ruffnut has he head buried in her brothers shoulder and had her arm around Snotlout.

Tuffnut was rubbing Ruffnuts back and crying.

Fishlegs noticed they all had their arms around each other and realized that they were each other's family. They have always been there for each other. They were true family. As true as it gets.

Hiccup looked at his stubborn girlfriend.and saw she was trying not to cry. He pulled her closer and kissed her forehead. "Hey, everyone else is crying and I can see that you want to." Astrid buries her face in his side and let the tears fall.

Valka looked at the group of young adults. Their arms around each other. Their comforting auras. Their shaking frames. She looked at Gobber who looked back at her.

"They're close?" She pinged to all of them.

"Friends since birth. Maybe not on the best terms until they were 15 but they were all friends. Been through more than I can imagine. They're each other's family." Gobber said and Valka continued to look at the boat, tears clouding her vision.

None of them new but Astrid, Hiccup, Snotlout, Ruffnut, Tuffnut, And Fishlegs we're all thinking the same thing:

No matter what, we will always be there for each other. No matter what.
