Valka meets Astrid

Maybe a little Ooc but if we were blinded by a storm we'd be scared of them too.

Valka-

I walked around the village looking around. It has changed quite over the years, well why wouldn't it have? Everyone looked so much older, oh my gods is that Snotlout? I helped deliver him. He turned to be quite the burly one, huh?  I didn't really recognize anyone but then again why would I? I was gone for twenty years! I was filled with guilt.

I stopped by Gobber to say hello.

"Gobber? Who is that blonde girl?" I asked gesturing to the beautiful blonde who limped into her hut.

"Why don't ya go and ask yer son?" He said, as he hammered a gold tooth into a Naddar's gum. I nodded and walked over to my and Hiccup's house. I opened the door and saw Hiccup studying a map on the table.

"Hiccup?" I said. He lifted his head and smiled.

"Hey, Mom! You wanna see the map I've been working on?" He asked excitedly. I laughed.

"Later. I have a question." I told him.

"Yeah?"

"Who's the blonde girl you kissed?" I asked. A light blush fell on to his cheeks and he rubbed the back of his neck.

"Come on, you can meet her." He said and started to walked out of the hut, I followed. "Wait by the Arena." So, I walked to the arena.

Astrid-

I limped over to my hut and walked in. I took off my boots, hood, and shoulder pads. I grabbed a bucket of water and a cloth with ice in my other hand. I sat on the couch and cleaned the wound on my foot.

I was helping a villager calm down a deadly Nadder when a spike almost stabbed through my foot. But resulted in a deep cut. I hissed when the water touched the cut. After I cleaned it a wrapped my foot up and held ice to it. I laid down on the couch and just let the ice sit there while I closed my eyes. Then I heard a light knock. Hiccup.

"Come in, Babe." I called. I heard the door open and the familiar step, click, step, click.

"Hey, M'lady, my-" His eyes landed on my foot. He moved my legs and sat down then put them on his lap. "What happened?" He inspected my wrapped foot.

"I was helping a villager calm down a Nadder and a spike nicked my foot. I'm fine." I sat up and grabbed his hand that was grazing my foot. He looked at me with worried eyes before I placed my lips on to his. "What did you want to tell me?"

"That is not a nick, Astrid!" He took a deep breath. "Anyway, my mom wants to meet you." He said. My eyes widened.

"What?" I asked.

"My mom wants to meet you." He replied.

"Now?" I said. He nodded his head. Then I started to ramble. "Why now? I'm injured and probably look horrible. What if she hates me? What if she stops me from seeing you? What if-" Hiccup silenced her with a kiss. They pulled away.

"Just go like this." He gestured to her.

"You're serious?" Her eyes widened. "Like this? No armor just...this?"

"I think you look beautiful just like that." He said. "Do you think you'll be able to put your boots on with your foot wrapped?"

"Nope." I popped the 'p'. He bent down in front of me, his back to me.

"Get on, M'lady." He said. I laughed, wrapped my harms around his neck, and hopped on. He held my legs so I wouldn't fall off and started to walked out of the house. I kissed his cheek and I saw him grin.

"I love you." I said and ruffled his hair before wrapping my arms around his neck again.

"I love you too." He replied, looking around. Then he spotted his mom and walked over to her. Once we were close I hopped off his back and limped the rest of the way. Hiccup must have noticed my hands shaking because he grabbed my left with his right and laced out fingers together. "Hi, Mom!" I chuckled.

"Hi, Dear." She ruffled his hair then took a step back. I looked at Hiccup nervously and he gave me a small smile.

"Astrid this is my mom, Valka." He pointed at her. "Mom, this is my girlfriend, well betrothed, Astrid Hofferson." Valka smiled at me.

"A Hofferson? My son picked up a Hofferson? How'd did it happen?" She laughed. I laughed quietly and winced at my foot.

"Let's go to our hut mom then we'll tell you because it's getting cold and Astrid nicked her foot." He said and I rolled my eyes. I hopped on his back again and we walked over to his hut. His mom warmed up some tea while Hiccup sat down on his chair while I sat between his legs on the ground, my foot propped on a pillow. I reached for my braid and took it out. I flicked it back and felt Hiccup running his fingers through it.

"You should keep your hair down more often." He said, fingers slowly running through my blonde hair.

"Maybe." I said. Valka came back in and handed me a cup and set Hiccup's down on the table next to his chair.

"So? I want the whole story." She said, as she sat down on the couch.

Hiccup-

I laughed at the memory. "Well it was when we still had problems and I had befriended Toothless in secret. She followed me and well, found out. Then she started to run away but Toothless and I grabbed her-"

"Which scared me to death." Astrid muttered and I continued to run my fingers through her hair.

"And we put her in a tree and wouldn't let her down until she listened to me. She did, I took her on a romantic flight. We became friends and after Berk befriended dragons she kissed me." I looked down at her. "I heard you almost never left my side unless they forced you when I was in hat coma." I said.

"That May or may not be true." She said and I could tell she was smirking.

"So that's how we became close friends" I said.

"Then eventually best human friends." Astrid continued.

"How did you guys start dating?" My mom asked curiously. It must have been a coincidence but right after she said that thunder boomed and it started raining. Astrid leaned back a little.

"Astrid, come sit up here." I whispered. Astrid stood and sat next to me on my lap so she was half on the chair and half on me. "Want me to tell it?" Astrid nodded and buried her face in my neck. My mom looked at me with a infused expression.

"Is she okay?" She asked.

"It's the storm. It has to do with us dating. No questions. Okay, so, there was a storm coming and Astrid asked our friends Fishlegs if he shur the door to the stables. He said he didn't know so she went. There was a dragon trapped, she freed it, and was running out when a lightning bolt blinded her." Thunder boomed and Astrid jumped a little. I rubbed her shaking back and she wrapped her arms around my middle.

"That's horrible!" My mom exclaimed. "Keep going."

Valka-

I was very intrigued in this story and listened intently as he told it. Lightning must have hit a tree out in the woods because I heard a crack and a thud right as thunder rumbled. Astrid jumped and looked at Hiccup with wide eyes. I've never felt so bad for a person before.

"Hey, it was lightning hitting a tree." Hiccup soothed. Astrid nodded and rested her head on his chest. "Anyway Gothi fixed her up and we were sitting on a ledge and we talked and then well kissed and became official. Because I'd be lying if we weren't something before that. I don't know what but it was something."

"You guys are adorable. Astrid, Honey, why don't you stay the night. I don't want you walking home out there." I said and stood. "I'm off to bed." I kissed Hiccup on the head and squeezed Astrid's shoulder. Then I walked upstairs to my room.

Astrid-

I yawned and stood. Hiccup stood after me and we walked up the stairs to his room. He opened the door and he removed his armor, shirt, and prosthetic, while I took my skirt off leaving me in my leggings and shirt. I laid down on his bed and he laid next to me on his back. I wrapped my arms around his middle and laid my head on his bare chest.

"Love you." I mumbled.

"Love you too." He said back. Then we drifted off into sleep.
