They'll never take us alive

Based off of the song: Partners In Crime.

Hiccup and Astrid were in their black car zooming through the city of Berk in New York. Astrid held her wrist in front of her which her watch as strapped to and her dark black nails tapped on the screen until a hologram of the city. She turned it around looking for a new place to rob.

Hiccup swerved through traffic like a mad man while tapping his fingertips on the steering wheel to the song on the radio: Partners In Crime.

"Where to now?" He asked his fiancée. She looked through the hologram.

"We've robbed the art museum, the bank on the west side, almost all the stores, and... more. A lot more." She muttered. "The largest bank in Berk. North side. Berk Bank."

"Alright." He continued to swerve and caused Astrid to hit the door. She grunted and peeled herself off. "You read?" He said as they parked. She looked down at her black ripped jeans, black tank top, black leather jacket, black combat boots, and her hair was half down and half in a braid. She reached into her pocket and felt the hilt of her black pistol and her lighter in her other pocket. She smirked.

"Ready as I'll ever be." She said. "You?" Hiccup looked down at his black jeans, black T-shirt, black leather jacket, and black shoes. He reached into his pocket and felt his gun and the bottle of flammable gas.

"Yup." He held out his pinky. "They'll never take us alive.

She hooked her pinky through his and they shook. "Until death do us apart."

They got out of the car and Astrid picked up a news paper that was on the ground. "Huh, we're famous." She had an evil glint in her eye. She showed Hiccup and the headline was: 'you'll never take us alive' criminals strikes again at the art museum.
They had a picture below the article of them running to their car with paintings in their arms.

"Yeah we are." He said and they ran into the bank.

No one noticed they were in there so Hiccup and Astrid took out there guns and held them in front of them. Hiccup raised his to the ceiling and shot. Everyone gasped and dropped to the ground.

"Nobody move! Or else we will shoot!" Astrid yelled, pointing her gun around.

"Where's the money?" Hiccup demanded.

"In the vault but you won't be able to get in." A woman with long black hair who was behind the desk said. Astrid smirked.

"Well then, Heather, you will get it for us." She said. Astrid pointed her gun at her.

"You won't huh?" She said with a scowl.

"Nope, no one-" She was cut off by a familiar voice.

"I will. You will not kill my girlfriend." Fishlegs stepped out from behind her and walked over to the vault. He turned towards Hiccup. "You were never like this when we were younger. What happened?"

"That's personal." Hiccup handed him the bags and pointed his gun at him and gestured to the vault with it. "Put the money in the bags or we'll shoot."

"Astrid..." heather said. Astrid turned towards her old best friend. "Why?"

"Why what?" She snapped, her gun facing Heather.

"Why this?" She gestured to the couple and the money. "Why did you choose to do this?"

"Like Hiccup said. Why we made our choice is personal." Astrid turned back to the vault. What she didn't know was that Heather had called 911 and they heard the whole thing.

"This Fire you start will come back to burn you one of these days." Heather sneered. Astrid turned around and shot her once was best friend in the leg.

"Then we'll play with fire." Astrid took out her lighter but froze when she heard the alarms and sirens. "Hiccup?..."

"I hear them too." He said and took out the gas and spilled it along the walls and Astrid lit it with her lighter, causing fire to race across the walls and ceiling. "The money?"

"Grab one bag." She said and tried to open the door. "They're locked!"

"What?!" He called back. She ran to the other side and pulled at the door.

"They're all locked!" She said and heard the sirens. "The sirens are closing in!"

"The window!" He said.

"Baby, I'm a little scared." Astrid said and held her gun tightly. Hiccup placed his hands on her shoulders and gently shook her.

"Now don't you quit!" He said and grabbed the bag of money. They went to the window to see it lit on fire.

"The only way out is the roof!" Astrid said and they ran to the stairs. Astrid tripped over a fallen beam she shrieked. Hiccup helped her up and they began running up the stairs.

Outside they heard, "we are the police! You've finally been caught!" Astrid froze and looked at Hiccup. That was his cousins voice. Snotlout Jorgensen.

"Is this the end?" She whispered. Hiccup put his hands on either side of her face and stared into her blue eyes.

"I don't know." He said and pecked her lips. "But they'll never take us alive."

"Tell death do us apart." She said and they made it to the roof. The police didn't notice them yet so they climbed down and jumped off in front of all the police, their backs facing them.

"Turn around." Boomed Stoick, Mayor Of Berk. Astrid grabbed Hiccup's hand and they slowly turned around, weapons in hand. They smirked evilly and began to shoot wiping out half of the police. 25 out of 50 police were dead.

"Put the weapons down!" Snotlout boomed. The engaged couple didn't put them down.

"Don't you feel bad about anything?" Astrid's dad, Chief Of the police, asked.

"Nope." Astrid said. "Not one bit."

"This isn't the way to handle grief." Stoick told his son. Hiccup chuckled.

"Neither was your way." He said and kept his gun raised. Fishlegs and Heather ran out of the building, coughing. But what they didn't know was that behind Heather's back, was her emergency gun that was held in the vault. "You bring our money?"

"No." Heather said as she put a hand to her bleeding leg. The couple turned back to the police.

"If you don't put the guns down we'll shoot." One of them said a little shakily. Astrid walked over to him and brushed her hand against his shoulder. All guns were pointed at her.

"Shoot her and you all die." Hiccup said menacingly. Astrid circled that one police officer.

"Scared are we?" She whispered in his ear. He spun around and shot but she ducked out of the way and instead she's hot him in the head causing him to fall and die. She walked back over to Hiccup and blew the steam off the tip of her pistol.

Stoick turned to Astrid's father. "They won't put their weapons down and we have no chance of arresting them and even if we try, they'd kill us before we could put cuffs around their wrists."

Asmund, Astrid's dad, swallowed hard with tears in his eyes. When Hiccup turned his back to them because a police officer was behind them he pulled the trigger. Hiccup fell to the ground.

Astrid heard a gunshot and thought Hiccup and shot the police behind them. She smiled. "Nice shot-" she turned to look at him and saw him laying on his stomach, blood seeping our of a bullet hole right below his chest. She cupped her mouth with her hands, dropping her gun. She looked at the police and saw her father looking guilty.

Asmund looked at his daughter who was looking at him and her eyes filled with tears. She turned back to Hiccup and knelt next to him. He gripped her hand loosely.

"I love you." He whispered, blood spilling out of his mouth. Astrid sobbed. "They never took me alive." His breathing slowed until there was nothing.

"No!" Astrid screamed. She took his face in her hands. "No! Wake up! Wake up!" She shook him as she cried. Tears spilling out of her ocean blue eyes. "Don't leave me!" She sobbed into his chest for a minute before it registered in her brain who shot him. She picked up her gun, stood up, and pointed it at her father.

"Get cuffs." She heard Snotlout tell one of the other police. She sniffed and turned her attention back to her father.

"Y-you killed him." Her hands shook. "You killed him!"

"Yes." Asmund said not sounding guilty anymore but he had guilt in his eyes.

"You monster!" She screamed. "I'll never see him again!" Tears spilled from her eyes. "Because if you! My own father!"

"You guys were the only monsters." Asmund said calmly. Astrid pulled the trigger but her dad ducked and shot her in the stomach. She fell down next to Hiccup and turned her head to him.

Asmund breathes heavily as his daughter fell down, blood seeping out of the bullet hole he caused.

Heather, who was ready to shoot, dropped her gun and ran over. She saw Astrid's eyes fading. She knelt down and took her hand in hers. Astrid weakly squeezed it.

"I-I'm sorry, Heather." She rasped. "I missed you." Heather had tears spilling from her eyes because one she didn't here the criminal, Astrid speaking. She heard her best friend talking and she was dying right in front of her.

"I missed you too." Heather sobbed. "They never took you alive."

"No, they didn't." Astrid smiled weakly. "I love you, Heath." Heather cried harder knowing her best friend was down deep inside her and she was using their childhood nicknames.

"I love you too, Ast." She said.

"Tell my m-mom that I-I love h-her." She breathed. Heather nodded and Astrid quickly took Hiccup's cold hand in hers.

"Goodbye." Heather cried quietly.

"Bye." Astrid's hand fell limp in Heather's and her eyes clouded and her breathing stopped. Heather sat there crying over her best friend who turned into a monster and she was the only one besides her parents and Stoick who knew why.

Paramedics came out with stretchers for the bodies and Heather stood and helped put them into the stretchers. One of the paramedics was going to take off Astrid's ring but she stopped her.

"Leave it on." She whispered. "Please." She reaches into Astrid's pocket and took out the lighter then reached into the other one and her fingers curled around something cool. She pulled it out and another sob racked her body. It was the friendship necklace they had since they were kids. Heather took hers out from underneath her shirt and put them together m, forming a dragon not a heart.

Heather kept a tight grip to the necklace as the ambulance drove away with her best friend and her best friend's dead bodies inside.

———————————

Asmund watched the ambulance drive away and he slowly got into his car and drove home. He got out of his car, shut and locked the door, and walked inside his house. His wife, Kiara, was sitting on the couch reading a book. She looked up at me.

"We caught them." He said. She jumped up and hugged him

"You did!" She said. "Berk is safe again!"

"Yeah." He said quietly and got a cup of water.

"How bad was it this time?" She asked as she placed her hands on his shoulders.

"It was their worst one yet." He told her. "They robbed the bank and set it on fire. Of course they didn't get away with the money. The fire killed most the people in the building."

"That's terrible." She said.

"They killed half of our men and woman. 26 out of 50 are dead."

"They killed 26 people? Plus the people in the building?" Kiara asked as tears filled her eyes. Her, what used to be, sweet little girl is a criminal. Much worse than she had thought.

"She shirt Heather in the leg." I said.

"I didn't know she'd go that far." Kiara gasped.

"Oh she did. She shot one of our police men in the head." He said then swallowed hard. "And took a shot at me but I ducked."

"Why would she try to kill you?" Kiara was confused.

"Because.." he blinked a few times. "Because I killed Hiccup."

"What? Why?" She said as a tear slid down her cheek. "You could have just arrested them right?"

"No, we didn't stand a chance. Get within three feet of them and you're shot. So we had to kill them..." He told his wife trailing off. Kiara stood in front of him with tears spilling out of her eyes.

"Astrid's dead too?" She asked quietly.

"Yeah."

"Who killed her?"

"It was self defense." He said and he started crying too.

"Oh, honey." The Hofferson spent their night crying.

Part 2 tomorrow.
