New "weird" Kids

What they look like^^^

This is the first chapter to my new story that will be up tomorrow.

Modern AU-

Six teens were gathered in the living room ,in the Mayor of Berk, California's mansion, looking at a computer to find information for a  school Stoick had registered them in to the next day.

Ruffnut and Tuffnut, the twins, were seated on the couch with a bored expression on their faces. "Do we have to go to school? I mean school is boring!" Tuffnut said. Ruffnut raised her hand.

"I second that." She deadpanned. Fishlegs looked up from the lap top to look at the two... twins.

"School is very important because it gives people the building blocks necessary to do many things: to critically analyze, read, perform mathematical functions, write, etc. Without these building blocks people would not understand some of the  things we need to know in everyday lives." Fishlegs said. "And-"

"Will you shut up, Fishface?" Snotlout said. "I'm thirsty. Astrid hurry your lazy bum up!" He called into the kitchen. Hiccup looked up from the computer, from his seat on the floor, and raised an eyebrow at his cousin and said two words.

"Respect her." Then Hiccup went back to researching. Astrid came out from the kitchen, carrying six cups, and set them in front of everyone. She knelt behind Hiccup and crossed her arms across his back and placed her chin on his shoulder.

"You find anything about the school your dad registered us in, Babe?" She asked her boyfriend of two and a half years. (They're 17)

"Nothing as good as Berk's high school. Nothing is better than Berk High." He told her and laughed. Berk High had burned down in a fire and it won't be rebuilt until a year and a half so everyone needed to find a new school.

"Do they have a soccer or martial art team?" Astrid asked, petting Toothless as the black cat laid next to her. Astrid moved so she sat next to Hiccup and leaned her head on his shoulder, petting Toothless. Astrid looked around at everyone. They were all in sweatpants and T-shirts and were looking tired, hence it was almost ten and they had school tomorrow.

"Both." He told his girlfriend and kept looking at the school website. "They have music making, football, inventory, mathletes, soccer, and martial arts." Cheers filled the room then one by one they all went to their respective homes for a good night sleep before school.

LINE BREAK---

Hiccup---

I woke up to my cat, Toothless, nuzzling my face. I laughed, "Hey, Bud!" I looked to my right at the alarm clock to see it was 7:00 am. I hopped out of bed and got dressed. (Outfit on top.) I ran down the stairs and ate breakfast in a rush. I unplugged my phone from its charger and turned it on to see the picture of Astrid and me at the park with her little brother. We were sitting on a blue slide, me behind Astrid, and Alfred (her brother) in front of her. We had asked this little girl to take the picture. I was staring at it with a soft smile on my face when I heard the doorbell ring. I limped, because of my prosthetic, to the door. I was in a car crash when I was fifteen and had right below my knee and down amputated. I opened the door to see my beautiful girlfriend standing there with her backpack.

"Hey, thought we could walk together." She shrugged and walked in, taking a bite of my energy bar that was sitting on the counter. She wore this plaid skirt, blue long sleeve shirt, and red converse. Her hair was down from her usual braid. I walked up behind her and saw she was checking my notifications. I wrapped my arms around her waist from behind and chuckled.

"I'm not cheating on you." I laughed and she joined in.

"Just making sure. You may not know but you're not bad looking." She turned around in my arms and wrapped her arms around my neck. She smiled at me, leaned in, and pressed her lips to mine. A few seconds later, we pull away, and I put my shoe on. I grabbed my backpack, shouldered it, and we walked out the door. I grabbed her hand and laced our fingers together and we swung our hands between us.

"How did you sleep?" I asked her. She had a small grin on her face and shook her head. "Still having those nightmares?"

"Ya, it's stupid. It's been a month." She said, looking straight in front of her. I shook my head then squeezed her hand.

"No, it's not stupid. You almost didn't make it out. I would be surprised if you didn't have any nightmares." I said.

Flashback-

Hiccup was the last one to escape the burning high school. He stood by his friends and watched their school burn but he noticed something was wrong. He looked around and his eyes widened. Astrid was nowhere to be seen. "Hey!" He called to a fireman.

"What is it, boyo?" Spitelout, Snotlout's dad and chief fire fighter asked him.

"Astrid's still in there!" Hiccup yelled.

"Astrid? Hofferson?" He asked.

"Yes! My girlfriend, Astrid, is still in that burning building!" Hiccup shouted. Spitelout and a bunch of other firemen ran into the scorching building. Hiccup sat down, removed his burned prosthetic, and held his head in his hands. Fishlegs sat next to him.

"She'll make it. It's Astrid." He told the worried boy.

"I just can't help but worry." Hiccup mumbled.

A few minutes later a fireman ran out of the building holding an unconscious girl with soot filled blonde hair. Soot covered most the girls face and she was coughing. Hiccup stood when they put her on a stretcher and placed a breathing mask over her mouth and nose. Hiccup attached his fake leg on and ran over to her. He grabbed her soot covered hand and stroked her hair as they boarded the ambulance.

"Hang in there Astrid. Hold on. For me." Hiccup shook his head. "i can't imagine a world without you in it." He held her hand all the way to the hospital.

End of Flashback---

Astrid examined her scarred hand. The scar was a burn mark that was from her thumb, curved around to the middle of the back of her hand, and to her wrist. "Yeah. They just seem so real." I let go of her other hand and wrap my arm around her waist, and pull her closer to my side. We near the school and sea the rest of The Gang standing by a tree. they walked over to them.

"No Tuff! Barf almost bit Belch's head off! Not the other way around." Ruffnut told her twin brother, talking about their twin snakes.

"Think what you want, dear sister." Was Tuffnut's remark then he plugged his headphones into his phone, and bobbed his head to the music.

"The love birds finally show up!" Snotlout said, opening his arms wide in exasperation. "We have been waiting for twenty minutes."

"Why were you all here so early? School doesn't start for another five minutes." Astrid checked the time on her phone. I peeked at her wallpaper to see a picture of me. I was sitting on the other end of her couch, her feet in my lap, and seemed to be laughing at something she said. I smiled and kissed her cheek.

"We should probably go get our schedules." I suggested and they all nodded in agreement. We walked up the steps and students around us watched us. I saw most the girls glaring at Astrid and she must have noticed because she moved closer to me, wrapping her right arm around my waist.  We walked to the office and knocked on the door.

I heard a muffle, "Come in." So I opened the door. "Hello, I'm Mrs. Reslemean. The principal but call me Mrs. R." A woman with short brown hair and blue eyes said. "Names?"

"Hiccup Haddock." I said. She typed a few things into the computer then printed a sheet off and handed it to me.

"Astrid Hofferson." My girlfriend said and was handed a sheet of paper.

"Fishlegs Ingerman." He was handed a paper.

"Snotlout Jorgenson." He was also handed a paper.

"Ruffnut and Tuffnut Thorston." The twins were handed a paper.

"Hm." Mrs. R. said. "Unusual names."

Fishlegs spoke up, "Our ancestors are vikings so our parents and grandparents live up to the traditions and names."

"Interesting. Anyway, those were your schedules and locker numbers." She said and we walked out of the office. I laced Astrid and I's fingers together and looked at my locker number.

"what are your numbers?" Snotlout asked.

"105." I said.

"104." Astrid said and I smiled.

"103." Ruffnut said.

"102." Tuffnut said.

"106." Fishlegs said.

"107." Snotlout said. They all looked at me.

"Your dad had something to do with this didn't he?" Astrid asked and I nodded.

"Yup." I popped the 'p' and we went to find our lockers.

That is actual the first chapter to my new book!
