New Villagers part 2
It was yet another sunny day on Berk and Emily exited her new house, exposing her to the warm air. She looked around to see Berkians walking around, talking, and laughing. She saw Hiccup and Astrid walking hand in hand. Hiccup said something into Astrid's ear and walked over to Gobber. Emily took this as her chance, walked up to Astrid, and stuck her hand out.
"Hi, I'm Emily Cloner." Astrid shook her hand. After their hands separated, Emily wiped her hands off on her skirt, and Astrid looked at her in confusion. "Sorry, I just don't want me, a human, having any physical contact with whatever you are." She waved her hand around as she spoke.
"Excuse me? You were the one that stuck out your hand." Astrid said while she rolled her eyes. Emily ignored her.
"So, where do you live?" Emily asked, looking around. (That's an awkward question)
"In that house up there." Astrid pointed to a fairly large house about ten stone steps up the hill.
"Can I have a tour? I love how people arrange their houses on the inside." She asked the Chieftess. Astrid eyes her skeptically but nodded nevertheless and gestured to follow her. She turned in the direction Hiccup was standing.
"Hiccup!" She called. Hiccup looked at her. "I'll be right back!" He nodded and the two woman made their way to the house. Astrid opened the door and told Emily to go in. Emily stepped in and followed Astrid. "That's the kitchen." It had a wooden table with four chairs around it, a counter, and a tub of water with dishes next to it. They walked into the living room which had a fire place, a couch pressed to the left wall, a fur rug in the middle of the room, and drawings in wooden frames on the wall. One was a drawing of what looked like to be Hiccup and Astrid on their wedding day. Another was Hiccup and Astrid as young teenagers. Another one was of Valka and a buff man with a red beard. And the last one was of two dragons, a Blue deadly Naddar and a Nightfury.
"Who's that man?" Emily asked. Astrid looked at the picture and sighed.
"That was Hiccup's father, Stoick the Vast." She said sadly.
"Was?"
"He's no longer with us and don't ask questions about his death. It's personal and Hiccup prefers not to talk about it." Astrid said sternly as they walked up the wooden stairs. She pointed at a door to the far left of the hallway. "That's Valka's room." She pointed to two other doors across from eachother. "Those are empty." They walked down the hallway and she opened a door. "This is where Hiccup used to make inventions." Emily peered inside and saw a desk that was covered in papers, two saddles, and a red tail on the floor. She shut the door with a heavy sigh and ran a finger through her long hair.
"Why doesn't he invent anymore?" Emily asked, curious.
"It was usually for his dragon, Toothless, but since he isn't living here anymore he stopped. He will once in a while but yeah." She said moving on. She opened a door to a fairly large room. "This is Hiccup's and my room." In the middle of the room, pressed up against the wall, was a queen sized bed. The bed was covered with the most expensive fur blankets on Berk and pressed up against the back board were expensive feather pillows. On each side of the bed was a wooden table. On the table to the left was a coal pencil, a candle, and a notebook. On the table to the right was a candle, a chain with a pendant laying on it, and a book. By the left wall were two wodden dressers, an open window, and a mirror. (Don't know if their were mirrors but roll with me here.) On the right wall was a desk and a chair. Astrid walked into the room and shut the window, walked back out, and closed the door. They walked out of the house and stood outside of it.
"I'm impressed. I didn't expect you to live in a place like that." Emily said with a smirk. " Maybe something smaller. Something so much more uncomfortable. Like a cage."
"Uh. Why?" Astrid asked very confused.
"Well, your obviously not human. I mean seriously what is this rat nest? Fur? Wool? Hard to tell. Definitely not hair." She tugged on a tiny lock of Astrid's hair. Hard. She pulled so hard she actually ripped most of the lock out. Astrid gasped at the sudden pain, back away a little from Emily, and pressed her fingers to the spot on her head. She pulled her fingers away to see blood.
"Anyway." Emily said as she looked at Astrid with disgust. The two girls were about the same height maybe Emily a tiny bit taller. "Where's your leash? Certainly your owner wouldn't let you outside without one. Or do you not have an owner? Pity that." She looked at Astrid's feet. "And how are you standing on your hind legs? I didn't think you were trained." Emily pushed Astrid, sending the girl tumbling down half the stone steps. Astrid stood, feeling a pain in her arms and head. She looked at her arms and saw bruises, scrapes, and cuts on them. She pressed her fingers to her head and felt blood. Astrid looked at Emily with hatred, turned, and ran. She felt stinging in her eyes but didn't let the tears fall. Astrid ran to Hiccup cause that's who she wanted at this moment. His back was to her so she wrapped her arms around his middle from behind and buried her face in his back.
Hiccup felt arms snake around his middle and new they were Astrid's .He looked down to see bruised and scraped arms. His eyes widened, he turned around, and looked at her with a worried expression.
"Are you okay? What happened?" He asked. He saw blood on her head. "Oh my gods. Is your head bleeding?!"
"I'm fine. I fell." She said, looking anywhere but his eyes. He looked at her disbelievingly but let it go.
"Okay... let's go to Gothi and get you cleaned up." He said as he lead her to the healers hut.
LINE BREAK----
The leaders of Berk were walking hand in hand round the Village. They stopped next to the Cloners to talk and get to know them. Astrid noticed Emily and stood closer to Hiccup, wrapping her arm around his waist. She didn't say much throughout the conversation, just listened. After they were done talking the couple left to their cliff. Hiccup and Astrid laid side by side, on top of the grassy cliff, their intertwined hands between them.
"I still wonder why you chose me. Of all the men on Berk it was me." Hiccup said suddenly. Astrid rolled onto her side, propped herself up on her elbow, and looked down at him.
"Why?" She asked as she traced circles on his arm with her finger.
"I was the scrawny, awkward, dorky, useless viking that no one liked. You were the fierce, strong, and very useless viking. And you chose me. You could have had anyone but use chose 'Hiccup the -" Astrid cut him off
"Don't you dare finish that sentence. I started liking you when e were ten but told myself it was a silly crush. When we were eleven I told myself the same thing and tried to get over you. When were were thirteen I told myself to snap out of it and get over the stupid crush and focus on becoming the best warrior in Berk. When we were fourteen, my crush grew and I hated myself for letting that happen. So I built up a wall not letting that side of me show and let no one know I like anyone. When we were fifteen and you showed me that dragons and people can make peace, I fell hard for you. After the Red Death I kissed you and even after that you didn't get the hint. I kissed you three times before we started dating. Then back on the Edge when I went blind. My liking towards you expanded even more that it hurt. When I got my sight back I let the walls fall. I chose you because you are kind, sweet, determined, brave, stubborn, strong willed, loving, caring, a knuckle head, a dork, and handsome. And I love you. I love you so much. If anything I wonder why you chose me. Hiccup, I treated you terribly. I regret it so much. I-I should have treated you better." Astrid looked down. Hiccup turned on his side in the same position as Astrid and lifted her chin with his index finger and thumb so she was looking at him.
"I love you, too. So much. And I've forgiven you, don't beat yourself up about it. I chose you because of what I just said you are. You're also kind to people who are on your good side, caring to the people you love, determined, very beautiful, and funny." Hiccup said as he stared into her beautiful ocean blue eyes.
"Funny?" She asked with a laugh.
"You can be funny. Anyway, thank you M'lady. I love you." He then pressed his lips to hers in a soft, sweet, and passionate kiss. They pulled away after a few seconds.
"I love you too, Babe." Astrid said back. "Alright what do you want to do?" he asked as they stood.
"Hmmm." He thought as he intertwined their fingers. "I made new wings so we can go flying with the gang?"
"Is that what you were working on all last night?" Astrid asked.
"Yup." He said. "Sorry for making you wait. You could have went to bed."
"Nah, I'm happy you're using that room of yours again." She said as they walked towards Berk. They ran the rest of the way, towards their house. They saw the gang talking in front of the steps to their house. They tried to slow down but of course Hiccup's prosthetic leg had to trip on a rock, causing him and Astrid to fall, knocking over their friends. They stood and fell into a fit of laughter. They brushed themselves off after they calmed down.
"Sorry. Grab your armor, we're going on a flight." Hiccup said excitedly. The group of friends cheered and ran to get their armor.
If you feel like punching Emily in the face, just wait till the next chapter.
