So before I write the next one shot of Unexpected Visitor I just need to get this off my chest before I forget the plot.

Author's POV:

Dragon Racing. 

That's how it happened.

Astrid's POV:

I was in the Arena painting my face for Dragon Racing. I set the container of paint down on a barrel and looked around. Tuffnut was painting whatever it was on his face with black and yellow paint, Ruffnut was helping her brother, Fishlegs was painting the bulls eye on his face, Snotlout was flirting with Ruffnut since he was done painting, and Hiccup put the container of red paint on a barrel and caught my eye. 

I smiled and walked over to him, wrapping my arms around his middle, and pressing a kiss to his lips. His arms wrapped around me and he deepened the kiss. We pulled away after a minute when we heard a fake cough. We turned to see Fishlegs looking at us awkwardly. 

"Guys, the race is about to start." Fishlegs said before hurrying over to Meatlug, his Gronckle.

I kissed his cheek before she whispered, "Good luck, Babe." I hopped on Stormfly and took to the air. We all lined up and the horn blew signaling the race began. The sheep were catapulted into the air and all the dragon raced to it. Stormfly grabbed one in her claws and we dropped it into our basket. I cheered. 

"Don't get too smug, M'lady." I heard Hiccup speak. I rolled my eyes and Stormfly grabbed another sheep but Hiccup came out of nowhere and stole it.

"Hey!" I shouted.

"What did I tell you?!" He shouted back and dropped the sheep into his basket. Stormfly flew over to him and I whacked him upside the head before we flew off. 

I stole a sheep from the twins and dropped it into my basket. "Astrid! No fair!" Tuffnut screamed. I laughed and went for another sheep. I grabbed one from Fishlegs but Snotlout appeared out of no where with a Hammer but this time I didn't have time to duck.

WHAM!

The hammer made contact with the side of my head and I fell off Stormfly. Last thing I heard before I blacked out? 

"SNOTLOUT!" A very angry Hiccup.

Hiccup's POV:

I watched as the hammer made contact with my girlfriend's head and she fell off Stormfly. "SNOTLOUT!" I yelled at him as Toothless shot downwards for Astrid. He wrapped his legs around her unconscious body and flew to the platform by Gothi's hut. 

We landed and I took Astrid into my arms and ran into the old healer's hut. "She got knocked in the head from Snotlout' hammer." I said quickly.  Gothi wrote down for me to set her on the bed and wait a minute. I laid Astrid down and removed her hood, shoulder pads, arm warmers, and boots. I covered her with a blanket when Gothi walked in. 

The old woman examined my betrothed's head before writing, 'She has a concussion and I don't know when she'll wake up. I'll go get some medicine.' I nodded and took Astrid's hand into mine and pressed my forehead to hers. 

Gothi came back and rubbed some oils on to Astrid's temples and forehead. She opened Astrid's mouth and poured some medicine down her throat. Gothi told me to wait with Astrid over night so that's what I did.

 I looked out the window. The sun was down and the moon was out and vikings made their way to their huts for sleep. I removed my leather, armor, and prosthetic. I kissed Astrid's forehead before  I laid my head down on the bed as I sat in my chair and closed my eyes.

I woke to sunlight streaming through the window and lifted my head. I looked at Astrid to see her still unconscious and I sighed. I attached my metal leg and put on my leather and armor. I paced back and forth, my head in my hands. 

I heard a groan and my head whipped up to look at Astrid. She sat up and was rubbing her head. I ran over to her and hugged her then looked into her eyes.

"Astrid, you need to take it easy." I set the pillows against the backboard. "here, lean against the pillows."

She looked at me in confusion.

Astrid's POV:

I opened my eyes and sat up, groaning. I rubbed my head trying to ooze the pain. I looked up when someone hugged me. The man pulled away and looked into my arms. He had auburn hair and emerald green eyes. He stared at me with worry.

"Astrid, you need to take it easy." He set the pillows against the head board. "Here, lean against the pillows." I looked at him in confusion but leaned against the pillows. 

"W-who are you?" I asked kind of nervously. He backed away, his eyes wide and filling with tears. 

"What?" He asked.

"I-um- asked who you were." I said again. He swallowed hard and blinked his tears away.

"Um, I'm Hiccup." He introduced himself. 

"Hiccup..." I racked my memory which I realized I only remembered my name. "I don't remember anyone named Hiccup."

"Astrid, I'm Hiccup. Your boyfriend. Your betrothed. Your human best friend." He said, eyes filling with tears once again.  My eyebrows furrowed and I stared at him with a blank expression. "what do you remember."

"Uh my name." 

"Anything else?"

"Uh, no." I muttered. 

"Oh.. this is not good. Not good at all." Hiccup muttered. An old woman came into the room and walked over to me. She put her hand on my head and I looked at Hiccup. "That's Gothi. You can trust her." I relaxed because, even though I don't remember him, I have this feeling that I can trust him. She wrote something down in the sand.

"You have amnesia and I should help you remember." He said then clapped his hands together. "Okay! Lets go find the gang." I swung my legs over the side of the bed and slipped on my boots. I stood and we walked out the door into the warm summer sun. 

"So, uh, what happened?" I rubbed my arm.

"Our friend, Snotlout, hit you in the head with a hammer during Dragon Racing." He said. I nodded. 

"If he's our friend then why would he do that?" I asked. 

"Well, we all get very competitive during Dragon Races." Hiccup laughed nervously and I smiled warmly at him. He's cute. We entered this place with a bunch of weapons and dummies. "This is the training academy." I nodded and we walked in. Four teenagers stood talking in the middle.

One was larger than the others with blonde hair and blue eyes, one was a girl with three blonde braids and blue eyes, one was a boy who looked quite similar to the girl with blonde dread lox and the last one was very muscular with black hair and blue eyes.

They all turned to look at me and their faces broke into smiles. "Astrid!" They exclaimed.

"Gang, she doesn't remember anything but her name." Hiccup said and they all stopped in their tracks, their smiles melting off their faces. 

"well then we should introduce ourselves." The larger one said sadly. "I'm Fishlegs."

"I'm Tuffnut." The blonde boy with dread lox said.

"I'm Ruffnut. Tuffnut's twin sister." Ruffnut said. 

"I'm Snotlout." The muscular one said. I glared and punched him. "Hey! What was that for!"

"I heard you were the one that hit me with a hammer and now I have amnesia." I said. 

"Oh... yeah. Sorry about that." He rubbed the back of his neck. I waved him off.

"Yeah, yeah. Whatever." I muttered.

"We need to help her remember." Hiccup said.

"Oh I have just the thing!" Fishlegs said. "How about the story of how we friended dragons?" 

"Okay, story time begins!" Hiccup said.

Line break-

"And then Hiccup woke up and found out his leg was gone." Fishlegs said. "Then he walked outside and we all had dragons. The end." 

"Do you remember anything now?" Tuffnut asked.

"Um, no." I said sheepishly. 

"okay, well, how about our Dragons Edge stories?" Snotlout piped in. They all nodded in agreement and I listened in. 

Line break-

We were at the story when Hiccup had a bounty on his head and the sun was setting when I stood up. "Look guys, I really appreciate what you're all doing for me," My eyes filled with tears because I really wanted to remember these guys. "but I still don't remember anything. I think I'm going to go sit down somewhere and try to remember on my own." 

I turned and walked out of the academy and to a cliff side. (Like the one in the beginning  HTTYD 3 where Hiccstrid had their little moment.)  I sat down, my legs dangling over the edge, and looked out into the orange sky. 

I felt my eyes fill with frustrated tears and then they started to fall down my cheeks. I grabbed grass between my fingers and pulled then threw the blades away from me. I gave a frustrated cry and put my head in my crossed arms that were laying on my knees. 

I heard someone sit down. "Astrid..." Hiccup trailed off. I sniffed.

"What?" I mumbled. 

"I know that you don't remember me but I just want you to know that I'm here for you." He sweetly said. 

"Thanks." I smiled at him and wiped my eyes. "I appreciate it. I want to punch Snotlout ten million more times though."

He laughed. "Gods I love you." He whispered, looking at me. I snapped my mouth shut and looked away. "I'm sorry. I just-" His eyes filled with tears. "This is hard on me too, you know. It's not everyday your betrothed forgets everyone she loves."

"I really want to remember, Hiccup." I whispered. He scooted closer to me and wiped away a tear that fell down my cheek.

"I know you do." Then he pressed his lips to mine and my eyes widened. I was about to pull away when everything came back to me. The Red Death, The Edge, the War with Drago, Stormfly, Toothless, all the dragons, my parents, everyone! But most importantly I remembered Hiccup. He pulled away. "I'm sorry, I-" I put my finger against his lips.

"I remember." I said.

"You do?" He asked, his eyes bright, and I nodded.

"I do." I said and our lips collided in a spectacular kiss.  we pulled away and I rested my forehead against his. "I love you too."

He pressed his lips to mine again and wrapped his arms around my waist as mine went around his neck.

I hope I never forget him again.
