Training: the twins should never have been given hybrid powers

Normal POV:

"Are you two gonna stop fighting?" Astrid asked.

"Not until he lets me train with Amber first." Ruff said, pushing her brother.

"She said you could BOTH train with her at the same time." Hiccup pointed out.

"Yes, I knew that." Tuff said and stopped shoving Ruff around.

"Right." Snotlout rolled his eyes.  "I went easy on her, seeing as she sparred with me for the first time."

"More like she went easy on you." Fishlegs commented, creating a lava ball and shaping it into a Gronkle shape.  "You were just trying to not die and she was trying really hard not to slice your head off."

"I did not try not to die!"

"Yes, because you didn't shout in pain when I stepped on your hand." Amber said.

"What're you eating?" Hiccup asked.

"Oh, it's smoked salmon............and shoot, I shouldn't have said that." she didn't finish due to a green Terror latching itself to her arm and eating up all the fish.  "Thank you so much, Yoshi.  I totally did not need to eat that because I totally did not miss breakfast or anything......"

"Yeah, guys this is my Terrible Terror, Yoshi." she petted his head.  "He loves to eat my fish."  The dragon flew away after blowing fire into Snotlout's face.  He coughed out some smoke.

"Yeah, cool.  So are we gonna spar or what?" Ruff asked impatiently.

"Yes, we are." she said.  "Snotlout, get me my Butterbeer."

"What on earth is a Butterbeer?" he asked.

"It's only the best thing that you'll ever taste in your life." she said.  "Go ask Leo, he should know, as he's been stealing all my food.  Or maybe ask one of the Durin brothers.  I don't know where my food ends up disappearing to, but you should ask them about the Butterbeer, them, or Nyki."

"Ok.....?" Snotlout questioned.  "Why do I have to get the drink?  Why not Hiccup? Who's Leo, Nyki and who are the Durin brothers?"

"Oh, are they the two princes who died?" Ruff asked a little too enthusiastically.

"Yes." Amber said coldly.  "Please don't bring that up."

"And you have to get the food because you lost the sparring match." Astrid said.

"Shut up Astrid."

Snotlout left to go find Butterbeer, which was hidden in a safe that was near impossible to open, but Amber didn't tell him that.  He found the safe no problem, but was now trying to figure out how to open it.  In the training room, Amber, Ruff and Tuff got ready to spar.  The twins had their spears ready and each had knives sheathed at their belts.  Amber had no weapons, at least none visible.

"Same rules apply for you three?" Hiccup asked.

"Yes." Amber nodded.

"Yeah!!" the twins butted heads.

"And........begin!" Astrid shouted.

"Hey, we should flank her and Ruff should surround the training area with zippleback gas." Tuff thought in his mind.

"Good idea!" Ruff thought.

"Whoa, did we just hear each other's thought?!" Tuff thought.

"I'm thinking we did because I heard what you said." Ruff said in her mind.

"Good, now you know the plan."

The two shared a glance and circled around Amber, with her in the middle.  Ruff caused a cloud of green gas to appear and the three figures disappeared in the smoke.  Amber laughed and burrowed underground with little to no vibrations at all.  Tuff sparked the gas and the twins expected Amber to be caught in the explosion.  They saw a small lump of dirt on the ground and Amber was no where in sight.

"She burrowed underground." Ruff said, being serious for once.  "As a whispering death, or screaming death hybrid."

"She's headed your way." Tuff said, feeling the slight tremors.

Sure enough, Amber launched from the dirt and threw an uppercut at Ruff.  The fist caught the side of her cheek and threw her in the air due to the momentum.  Both of them grew wings and hovered in the air.  Ruff had her spear at the ready in a defensive position while Amber drew her hunting knives.

"Sis, you need to disarm her!" Tuff yelled and also grew zippleback wings to help his sister.

"You think I don't know that?" Ruff shouted, parrying a strike and throwing a knife which sliced across Amber's left arm, leaving a small gash.

The two girls twirled their weapons, neither landing a hit except the occasional scratch on their arms or legs.  Tuff saw that his sister was slowing her attacks and stepped in to spar, letting Ruff take a break.

"Amber, I got your Butterbeer!" Snotlout ran in, only to get a knife thrown at him and pinned him to the wall by his collar.  "I didn't spill any!!"

Amber didn't respond to Snotlout returning, and she only focused on her opponent in front of her.  She spun her knives, bringing them down over Tuff's head.  He raised the spear and blocked the blades horizontally.  The knives, due to the strong downwards force, stuck in the shaft of the spear.  Tuff pulled his spear backwards, pulling Amber's knives out of her hands, leaving her defenseless.

In one quick motion, Ruff was up again and they each took one of her knives, pointing it at her neck.

"Not bad, for two siblings who always fight each other instead of with each other." Amber laughed.  "You win."

"They what?!" Snotlout shouted.  "They had two people!  Of course they'd win!"

"Yes, and you would've won too." Amber said.  "If you stop leaving your left side unguarded and relying on brute force over using your brain."

"Wait, does this mean we get a servant for 24 hours?" Tuff asked.

"Yes, unfortunately for me." Amber laughed and took her drink from Snotlout.  "How did you get the safe open?  You needed this key." She took out an iron forged key.  "And you needed to answer the riddle."

"Oh." Snotlout nodded as best as he could with a knife pinned his shirt.  "A guy who called himself a burglar-hobbit told me the answer.  And those brothers you mentioned?  They apparently had an uncle with the exact same key."

"Damn it.  I knew I should've used the double padlock one that Echo gave me." Amber muttered.

"Then why didn't you?" Nyki apparated out of nowhere.  She had alder wand in her hand and had Anarchy on her shoulder.  "You owe me that duel, by the way."

"Yeah.  I--" Amber got cut off.

"Can we see you two duel?" Fishlegs asked.  "And girl-whose-name-I-don't-know, why are you holding a stick?"

"It's a wand." Nyki explained.

"Ok, if you want to use magic, that's fine by me." Amber said and took out her ebony wand.

"You have a stick as well?" Hiccup asked.

"It's a wand, Hiccup.  And I can do stuff like this!  Expecto Patronus!!" Amber chanted and a salmon burst from the tip of her wand.

"Hahahahaha!!!!" Nyki doubled over in laughter.  "Your patronus is a SALMON??????!!!!"

"Don't laugh." Amber grumbled.  "I can perform the Cruciatus Curse and all I need is a volunteer."

"No thanks." Nyki stopped laughing.

"What's your patronus thing?" Astrid asked Nyki.

"You'll see." she said and chanted the spell as well.  A silvery Night Fury appeared and ate the salmon.

"Your patronus is a NIGHT FURY?!" Amber asked.  "Is that even possible?"

"It's so shiny!" Ruff said, trying to touch the dragon as it flew by.

"Yep.  And it ate your salmon." Nyki smirked.  "Ooh, and check out this spell I learned.  Quite the attention grabber, if I do say so myself.  Protego Diabolis!!!!"  Blue fire appeared and Snotlout shouted in pain.

"NYKI, no burning my guests." Amber shouted and extinguished the flames.  "We can duel after I take care of his burns."

"Thank you." Snotlout said weakly.

"No problem." she said.  "Damn, I haven't seen burns this bad since I accidentally angered Smaug.  Good times.  You'll be fine in a few hours."
