PREFACE
Created by Varun dev for Parshuram, Shurpaarak is a Kingdom near the Western sea, close to the mouth of the holy river Narmada in India.
It is a famous pilgrimage site where one can acquire merit through donating gold in abundance and by bathing in Narmada after observing a fast for fortnight.
As pure and divine Shurpaarak was, the ruler Prabhakar was ruining it's sanctity by engaging into impious activities of all sorts.
The military chiefs feared that if one day Parshuram returns here, and sees what the king has done to such a pious site he may very well again massacre all the Kshatriyas of Shurpaarak.
They consulted this with Rudradaman, the most powerful military chief of Shurpaarak who even commanded an independent troop of warriors.
A rebellion occurred against King Prabhakar, he was overthrown easily. One weak ruler he was indeed, for he had spent much of his life in impious activities.
This made Rudradaman the new King of Shurpaarak and he banished Prabhakar. Forced to live in the forest and unable to take the humiliation the ex-king took on his life.
His wife also committed Sati on his pyre, but before that she had instructed her daughter 15 year old Prabhavati to take the revenge for her father and mother.
With vengeance in her mind, Prabhavati asked for refuge from Rudradaman, thinking that the daughter has no reason to pay for the crimes of father, the new King raised her to the position of the princess once again.
But she didn't get the respect that she got when her father, Prabhakar was king. More than respect people had pity for her.
The civilians now respected and loved their new princess, the three year old daughter of Rudradaman, Anaahat. Her mother had passed away due to complications of pregnancy and thus she was being raised alone by her father.
For Rudradaman, Anaahat was his life, his heart and his very reason to live. For her sake he never married again, not knowing whether another wife can accept and love her like a true mother.
When Prabhavati came to know of how Anaahat was Rudradaman's life, her one goal became to break Anaahat apart.
Years went by, Prabhavati acted like a caring elder sister to her so no one could grow suspicious of her intentions. But she couldn't find a way to break Anaahat apart, she was always cheerful, joyful and ever so lovely.
Prabhavati had to fulfill the promise given to her mother of taking revenge from Rudradaman. Over the years she kept looking for a way to break his daughter apart but failed.
Until Anaahat fell in love with the newly made King of Ang, Karn the time he had come to Shurpaarak for pilgrimage as it was the Kingdom related with his Guru Parshuram.
Karn too had fallen in love the daughter of Rudradaman, it was a long distance between Shurpaarak and Ang but to meet his one true love, he could travel it even by foot.
Prabhavati had come to know, that if she wanted to take revenge of her parents then she will have to ruin Anaahat's life by separating her from Karn, with whom she was madly in love with.
