So sorry this took so long.

Draco pov.
I still can't figure out why Lapis was so distressed. I decide that I am going to go and confront her about it. I need to know if she is okay. I head down the corridor and make my way up towards where I think the Gryffindor tower is.

"What are you doing up here Malfoy?" I hear Wealsey shout.

I turn to see Potter and his sidekick.

Oh who cares I will tell them bluntly. "I am going to find Lapis. What are you doing here? " I raise an eyebrow, turing the question on them.

"We're going to the common room. Where I suspect you need to go. " Potter glares.

"Well lead the way. " I gesture impatiently. I need to get to Lapis.

Potter and Weasley push past me and head up to a portrait of a fat lady.

I don't hear the password as the lady makes them whisper it,  all the while glaring at my green tie.

I glare strait back and follow the two boys into the room.

It's stuffy and bright.

I spot Lapis over in the corner and immediately walk over with Potter on my heals.

"Lapis. " I notify her I am here before calmly sitting down.

Harry pov
Malfoy takes a seat next to Lapis on the couch and she looks up at us with a weak smile as I stand on her other side looking down to her.

"Lapis why can't you go to the ball? " I ask.

She just shakes her head.

I quickly go tell Ron he can head off to bed like everyone else and not to wait for me.

Lapis pov
Draco looks me in the eyes kindly as Harry wanders off.

"Please talk to me Lapis. I won't hurt you. " he says in a kind voice I have not heard him use to others. "I know I can be mean to people but I realise what I am doing now and I realise that my father is wrong. I want you to trust me but I understand if you don't."

Harry returns and stands before me again looking down and asking. "Lapis. Why did run off before? "

I can't say anything. I can't. So I just turn to look past Draco's shoulder as the last person walks up to bed.

"Lapis please tell if there is something wrong that I, or Potter, can fix. I want to help you." Draco says kindly, but flicking a soft glare at Harry. He looks back to me. "I don't mean to preasure you but I just need you to know.." he takes a shirt breathe. "Look I really like you Lapis and it would be a dream if you would come to the ball with me. " Draco's eyebrows furrow as he seems to forget Harry us here.

His confession shocks me. How could someone as superior as Draco like me? I never even talk.

He seems to read my expression and says. "I know you rarely speak Lapis but you are still kind and it does not go unnoticed by me. "

Harry coughs. "Lapis I don't think he is good for you. He might hurt you. I like you too. I wanted to try and get you to talk. I wanted to ask you to come to the ball with me. "

Both of these boys like me and they don't even know my secret. Are they simply curious to know my secret then will they get bored and leave?

"You don't have to speak if you do not want to but please think about it won't you?" Draco asks softly.

I finally look up to meet Draco's wintery eyes.

I nod. I do not want to speak. But, I do want to go to the ball with him. He is nice to me and we both seem to have secrets. He is actually nice on the inside. But no one but me gets to see that.

He seems to understand my nod and his eyes light up and he takes my hands in his.

"Thank you Lapis."

Harry, sensing that he has lost walks up to his dorm.

When the door shuts I look to Draco.

"I like you too Draco." my voice rings out clear in my silky siren inherented voice.

Draco beams to hear me speak for the first time.

"I would love to go to the ball with you." I say and smile myself, happy to talk and hear my siren voice.
