CHAPTER 5: Creatures Of Evil

In a dark cave in the woods, that's where the Demon Wolf would be planning his evil schemes. Eric went inside the place empty-handed, and at first, he was afraid to meet the Demon Wolf face-to-face because of his failure to get the sword back.

"My dark lord," greeted Eric as he kneeled down before the Demon Wolf, shuddering.

"Well, where is it?"

"Forgive me, as I cannot lie to you. I don't have the sword yet, but I swear this time I-"

Then the Demon Wolf cuts him off, saying, "Silence, you mortal! What a complete failure you are!! How dare you come to this place without the sword, the sword of the three wolves?!"

"Please, my dark lord, spare me! I will get that sword, and I'll make sure nobody gets in my way again. That's my promise, and it wasn't my fault. The girl has successfully gone through the process of full wolf transformation," replied Eric.

"What?! How could you let that happen? Do you know what it means to us? She is closer to the final step of having the ultimate power. The powerful howl, and if that happens, there is no way we will stop her!"

The Demon Wolf looked at Eric and decided to give him a second chance.

"Very well, but this will be your last attempt. Remember, fail me again, and I'll give you the opposite of what you always wanted."

"Of course, this time I won't disappoint you, my liege," replied Eric, and he left.

"Yes, you better not!" yelled the Demon Wolf. He laughed maniacally, then thought, "You foolish mortal, you have no idea what is coming to you. Soon, once I get that weapon, no one will be able to stop me! I have been searching for it for 20 thousand years, and I finally found it, but I must have!!"

The cave was not just an ordinary cave. Inside, there were ancient writings on the walls that were written in symbols, which were also spells to release other evil spirits into the real world.

The Demon Wolf started with incantations in order for him to begin casting the spells.

"Brothers and sisters, let us come together and rejoice, as I have found a way to conquer this incompetent world. Arise! Arise!! I summon you all!"

After that, thousands of evil spirits came out from a dark portal below.

At the Johnson's house, at 7:15 AM, before the two sisters could go to their school that Friday morning, Ella was prepared and was looking outside through the window.

"Alright, sweeties, let's have some breakfast, huh?" asked Mr. Joe, smiling while holding a tray of pancakes.

"Okay Daddy! Hmm, that looks delicious," replied Victoria.

    "DING-DONG! DING-DONG!"
Someone was at their door.

"I'll get it," volunteered Mr. Joe, heading straight to the entrance of their house. When he opened the door, it was Christopher and Kate.

  "Morning, Mr. Johnson!"

"Good morning, kids, I guess you are waiting for Ella, right?"

"Yes, sir!" they replied in unison.

"Okay, then, what about joining us for breakfast?"

"Oh no, thanks. I'm jam-packed," said Kate.

"Me too," added Christopher, tapping his belly.

"Who is it, Dad?!" asked Ella from a distance.

"Well, it's Kate and Christopher. They're here to see you," replied Mr. Joe, then turns to his daughter's friends, "Please, come inside and make yourselves at home."

"And thank you once again, Mr. Johnson, but we're actually waiting for Ella. By the way, is she ready?" asked Kate, looking around.

"Yeah, I am!" shouted Ella as she rushed out of the house.

   "About time," said Christopher.

"Ok, dad, I'm off to school now."

"Alright, sweetie, and where's your sister?" asked Mr. Joe.

"Right here, pops," replied Victoria as she gave her father a hug.

"Ok kids, see you later, and be careful, especially you, Vicki."

  "Daddy!"

"Fine, I'm just joking. Now run along, but still, be careful!" warned Mr. Joe, who then smiled and also waved as they left.

It was past 7:30 AM, and Ravenwood High opens by 8 AM. Ella and the others were going to be late if they did not hurry.

Thus, during the time that they were walking,

"El, now as it is, the zombie apocalypse has begun! You have an SUV and a baseball bat. Where are you going first?" asked Christopher.

"Do you always have to ask these dumb questions, Chris?" Kate asked back.

     "Wow, rude," said Victoria.

"And do you always have to cut me out all the time?" Christopher was getting annoyed with Kate. He hates it when someone interrupts him.

"Yeah Kate I mean, he's just trying to be funny, that's all. But I would choose the SUV. At least to crush those zombies out of my way," added Ella with her fist and chucked.

"Right, and hey! Just to know, he plays too many zombie games and watches too many zombie movies," said Kate.

"Blah, blah, blah! Enough of you two!! There's no need to argue. Sheesh! Ella, how do you even cope with your so-called friends?" asked Victoria.

"Ok! Please, can we skip the talking and move on?! Unless we want to be late!" bellowed Ella, and they all kept quiet.

After some time, they reached downtown. Then abruptly, they saw an apartment on fire!

"Gaah!" a girl was screaming in terror.

Luckily, the police and the fire department came on time. But two young individuals were still inside the burning building, while others fled, and it was almost falling apart.

"Please help us! Save us!!," cried the little children.

"We're coming! Hang on, we'll soon get you out of there!" shouted one of the firefighters, climbing a ladder.

Unfortunately, that ladder broke into two. The fireman fell down and was okay but not the kids. It was so strange in the sense that something wasn't right.

"Oh, my poor little babies, they need help desperately! Someone, please do something!" The mother of the two children cried as others offered their sympathy.

"Man, I feel bad for them. I hope the firefighters do something about this," said Christopher.

"Or I have to save them quickly before it gets worse. But I just need a little distraction so that nobody won't suspect me," Ella thought and had an idea.

"Guys? Tell me when this is all over. I'm out of here! Fire scares me!"

She only pretended to panic as she ran to one alley.

"Hey! Where the heck are you running off to?!," asked Victoria, worried.

Ella was already wearing her super-suit in her clothes. It was smart of her to do so, just in case of any big emergencies like that apartment on fire.

She removed all her clothes leaving only the costume. She ran and jumped inside the building where the kids were, leaving the window glass shattered.

   "HELP!"

She heard a child crying as it came from a wardrobe. She opened it and saw the two kids. Gladly, they were still safe.

"Who are you?" asked the first one.

"No time! You'll soon find out, but first I need to get you guys out of here," replied Ella.

Before she could escape with the children from the burning flames of the apartment, the room was collapsing, and their exit was blocked.

    "Great! Now, now what?"

Then she found another way to leave the building, but it was so dangerous that it could hurt the kids.

Hence, she stepped backward. With the help of her wolf's sharp sight, superspeed, and also her superstrength, she broke her way out of the apartment while she secured the kids very tight. It was a bit risky, but they landed safely on the ground, fortunately.

Even though Ella was injured, at least the children weren't. Except for the fact that, at the end, she would heal quickly.

When she looked up, she saw a big flame. But all of a sudden, to her surprise, it was moving in another direction away from the building, as if it had a mind of its own.

"What the...? I'm not too sure if it was that thing that caused the fire, but why?" asked Ella suspiciously.

Apparently, it was a dark fire spirit. It served as a message from the Demon Wolf to Ella that great evil had already begun.

Immediately after she gave the kids back to their mother, the dark spirit disappeared. The fire was finally extinguished, and everywhere became calm.

Then, people started looking at Ella as if she were a freak. News reporters came and saw her on top of a vehicle while others were taking photos of her.

They were also wondering where she came from, despite the fact that they hadn't seen her before.

"Excuse me! Please tell us; everyone in this city, including the world, would like to know. Who are you, this mysterious hero, and what will you do next?" asked one of the news reporters, holding up a microphone to Ella.

"Well, it's time I introduce myself. Everyone! Call me- err-"

She held on for a bit, and eventually, she had a name in her mind to call herself a superhero.

"Yes! Call me Howling Wolf! ARH-WOOOOOOOOOO!!"

There was loud cheering and applause at the end.
Ella, currently known as Howling Wolf, left the people and went somewhere else.

"I don't believe it. We have a new hero in our city?! It's like a dream come true," said Christopher, excited.

"Or better, a superhero, and yeah, man, dream on," added a stranger.

"Whatevs! And where's Ella? I haven't seen her since she left. But wow! Seriously, she missed a lot," said Kate, smirking.

"Hey guys! Sorry that I ran out," replied Ella, sweating profusely and panting at the same time. Nevertheless, she already wore her normal clothes.

"Where were you, Ella? And ew, why are you so sweaty?" asked Victoria.

"OMG! Forget about that; we're late!! Come on, what are you guys still waiting for?! Let's go, go, go!" shouted Kate, running as fast as a cheetah.

"Woah, slow down, girl!" warned Christopher.

And that is how they left for school at that time.
