"Now I have heard it all!" Liliana laughed, rolling her eyes and walking away. Snape in hot pursuit trying desperately to get her to believe him.

As she passed by the great hall she had finally had enough of the constant calling of her name. "Leave me alone Severus! stop these games.." she demanded angrily, pointing at him like a mother telling off a child.

"It's the truth! stop being so damn stubborn and listen to me! you're just like your mother.." Snape scowled, fed up of finally being honest and having his voice ignored.

"It's not true! my parents are both alive and well."
"No, you need to listen to me! I'm only telling you this because i love you and I cannot bare lying to you."

Liliana was about to shut him down, cut him off before he could continue but she was stopped in her tracks by a voice.

She turned to see Dumbledore stepping towards them, with a sad look upon his elderly face.

"My dear, Severus is telling you the truth. Mr and Mrs Valance are not your real parents." The headmaster intervened gently, placing a supportive hand on Snape's shoulder.

Liliana backed away from Snape and Dumbledore and spun around, running away as the headmaster held Snape back from going after her.

"Sometimes you must allow a flower to breath." He soothed. "I can't leave her Albus, not now. Please understand.."

Dumbledore let go of Snape's shoulder and nodded, "You must to do what your heart tells you to Severus, if you have a serious reason to do so."

Snape stared the old man deep in the eyes and Dumbledore watched as a small tear appeared in his left eye and sighed, a small smile appearing on his wrinkled face. "Go on.." he gestured with a knowing smile.

Snape found her crying in the bathroom of the prefects bathroom, huddled up with her head in her hands in the second stall. He approached cautiously, not wanting to upset her further.

"My love...." he cried painfully, waiting for her respond. She looked up at him with the most excruciating pain in her green eyes and he could hold back no longer as the pain in his heart was too much to handle.

He ran to her and fell to his knees, wrapping his arms around her and pulling her body to his as she wailed.

"I'm here my love, always. I promise you!" He soothed, stroking her red hair. "How long have you known?" She asked simply, not wanting all of his romantic words to intervene with her quest for answers.

"Since last night... Albus told me just after dinner." He admitted honestly, his head dropping as she looked up at him with a look that told him that she didn't believe a word.

"I'm telling you the truth, I swear on my life and Merlin strike me down dead right now if I'm lying." He insisted.

"Is that why you looked at me so strangely this morning?"

"No. That was because of my own stupidity." He sighed, hushing her before she could speak again.

"I know that this probably isn't the best time, all things considered, but I must be honest with you... last night I was so upset by us ending and hearing about your mother that..." he began, wishing he hadn't started.

"That???" Lil pressed, wiping the tears from her eyes.

"I got so very drunk and I did something I regret deeply Liliana, I spent the night with a another witch." He admitted.

"Go to her then, obviously i mean so little to you that you'd fall into bed with someone else so soon after telling me that you loved me."

"Liliana, I was angry.. and extremely drunk, I was so intoxicated! I bet I couldn't recall my own name at the time... It's you that I love! Do you think I'd bother telling you the truth if i didn't regret every last second of it!? I wanted you to be my first."

"First?" Liliana gasped. "Yes. I was a virgin until I... with that witch..." Snape blushed.

Liliana nodded, she was touched by the fact he wanted her to be his first. Part of her ached to think he'd made love to another witch when she wanted to give her virginity to him.

Merlin they could have shared their first times together... 'How can I be angry?' She thought to herself, after all, he'd not only been honest but they were no longer together.....

"It's alright, you didn't cheat on me as we had broken up before it happened." She responded.

The truth was that she was too upset about her so-called parents not being her biological parents to be able to take it all in.

"Please understand, I regret it. And I promise that I will make everything alright." Snape whispered into her ear.

"Nothing will ever be alright again. I have a brother I didn't know I had, and my parents aren't my real parents.... and the love of my life just shagged somebody else."

Her words resounded in his head, "the love of my life..."

If his heart wasn't aching enough before it certainly was shattered into a million pieces now.

"I know that you cannot forgive me, but let me look after you. Come back to my chambers with me and I will give you a sleeping draft so that you can relax and get some rest. We can deal with it all tomorrow, you do trust that you're safe with me don't you?" Snape soothed, placing a kiss on her forehead.

Liliana nodded, she couldn't find the words to speak anymore as she had too many shocks in one day.

He picked her up and carried her to his chambers, placing her in his four poster bed. He watched her as she stared up at the ceiling, the draft he had given her was beginning to work and her eyes kept closing against her will.

"Don't fight it, just get some sleep." He purred, stroking her hand. "Please don't leave me Severus..." she cried sadly.

"Never." He chuckled adding a gentle squeeze to her hand.
She fell asleep quickly, slowly releasing his hand from her grasp.

He watched her sleep and whispered pointlessly to her. "I love you Liliana, nothing will change that, I wish that I could take it all back..."
