At The Park
As soon as I got home I changed into some more movable clothes and laced up my tennis shoes then grabbed a soccer ball. "Hey mom I'm going to the park with Laurance!"
"Okay! Be home before dark!" She called back. I ran out the front door and ran down to the street to the park. I saw Laurance almost immediately. I smiled and set the ball down.
"Hey Laurance! Heads up!" I yelled, kicking the ball to him as he turned towards me. He caught it, almost on late though. He looked winded and had wide eyes.
"(Y/N)!" He scolded me like I was a child. I giggled and ran over to him. He sighed. "You know you'd never actually beat me in soccer, even if you tried. You know I'm the-"
"Captain of the soccer team, yeah, yeah, yeah, Garroth won't shut up about it," I laughed. "I'd still beat you!"
"In your wildest dreams." He laughed. His phone buzzed and he pulled it out of his pocket, he read it and cursed. "It's Garroth."
"What did he say?" I asked, immediately curious.
"He said 'she WILL beat you Laurance!' It's almost like your brother knew you and I were going to have a show down." He chuckled.
"Garroth knows everything." I waved him off. "Now be prepared to lose!" I exclaimed, running to the empty soccer field. I ran to the goal as Laurance dropped the ball and sprinted towards me. I smirked s he went to kick it into the goal. The ball came rocketing towards my left shoulder.
I quickly dove to the left, catching the ball in my hands. I stood up with the ball tucked under my arm. Laurance's mouth hung open as I spit some grass from my mouth and moved my hair off my face. "How!?"
"I. Am. A. GOD!" I laughed then dropped the ball, heading for his goal. He tried to chase after me, but I was a bit too quick for him. I kicked the ball into the goal slowly, like it was so sad on how slow it rolled into the goal. Laurance ran over, retrieved the ball and tried to get to my goal. I quickly stole the ball and kicked it back into his goal.
Basically this repeated for the next twenty minutes or so. I went to kick the ball in when I was tackled from behind, we tumbled into the goal and I hit my head on the metal. "Laurance," I groaned as I saw stars.
"Uh! Sorry." He replied, moving so I was laying flat on my back. I laughed as he sighed. "Irene! I thought I had killed you!"
I smiled at him. "Just a bit dizzy."
"How in the world do you not have a boyfriend?" He asked. I lifted my eyebrows.
"Garroth and Zane are my brothers. Ask yourself that question again." I smirked. He laughed.
"Okay. I see where you're coming from... Do you want a boyfriend?" I shrugged.
"Why do you ask? You want to know if I'm available right now?" He scratched the back of his neck.
"I... Maybe," he grinned cheekily.
"Okay. If you can get this next goal I'll answer your question. Honestly. Do we have a deal?"
"Hm, you're on!" He exclaimed pulling my to my feet. I stumbled to my feet and blinked away some black spots. "You good?"
"Yes!" I nodded. We went to the center and I stood across from him, the ball in between us. I looked at him and notice a small hint of determination, gleaming in his eyes. I took a deep breath. "Three... Two... One!" I exclaimed, I went to get the ball, but when I tried to kick it Laurance moved swiftly, kicking it away from my feet and bolted over to keep up with it.
My eyes widened as the black spots returned. I ran after him, willing myself not to stumble and I didn't manage to catch up to him before he scored his first goal. He jumped and faced me a hug smirked played across his lips.
I sighed and shook my head, smiling as I tried to clear some thoughts. He jogged over to me and wrapped his arm across my shoulder. "So how about my answer?" He looked so happy, not even trying to contain his eagerness.
"Okay, I'm up for dating if the right one comes around." I sighed, feeling blush spread across my cheeks.
"Well then I have a few questions for you."
"Hey I only promised to answer that one!" I looked at him pointedly. He shrugged.
"Yeah, but you might want to answer these honestly." I rolled my eyes as he sat down and patted the grass next to him. I sat down, leaning back on my hands.
"So what are these questions that I'm dying to answer?" I asked, jokingly.
"What's the type of guy you like?" I raised my eyebrows.
"Okay I'm done," I tried to stand, but he pulled me down. I glared at him.
"Please just, you can leave, but I have to know this at the very least... Do you want to be my girlfriend?" He asked. I could feel my heart pounding loudly in my chest.
"Uh..." I thought for a moment, trying to think of what to say. I mentally face palmed for being at a loss of words. I hugged him quickly, burying my face in his chest. "Yes." I mumbled against him.
He slowly wrapped his arms around me, I could almost tell that he was smiling. I pulled away, looking at him with wide eyes. He was smiling. I looked up and noticed the sky getting darker. "Oh shoot!"
"What!?" He asked.
"I have to head home... Uh I'm going to the movies tomorrow with Aph and Travis... Do you... Want to come?" He smiled and nodded.
"I'd love to go with you." I smiled and ran over to the goal grabbing my soccer ball. I turned to face him and waved, then I sprinted home, the smile never left my face...
Until I closed he front door.
