WHITE CODED.

WHITE CODED. On the first chapter of this book, I said "I'm tired of y/n always being white coded..." Some may not know what it means so I'm gonna explain it.

White coded in this context is when the character/reader is viewed as white, usually by the author. There many things that confirms the assumption, silky long hair, pale skin, etc. Y/n is introduced with predominantly white features.

I and a lot of my BIPOC friends have noticed that. You start reading a reader insert, out of nowhere you see the author pull a, I ran my hand through my hair. I've tried to, but as someone with type 4 hair, ain't no running my hand through my hair. Know that this is just an example.

"Her skin paled" 🧑🏾🧑🏽🧑🏼🧑🏻

Things like this shows that it was written with y/n as a white person. Sometimes I'll point it out and get cussed out by the writer, some ask how they can make the book more inclusive which is great.

I hope I'll be able to share all the information needed.

(Notice how I didn't mention blushing? That's for later.)

Y'all I am tired so excuse the mistakes. If nothing makes sense here, I'm sorry.

I'm not completely here ngl. Writing this with have my mind.

Okay that's all
